After 3 mt snow fall with all closed, orange zone maybe yellow..the hotel staff was so kind and helpfull and kept us informed about news all the time. Thank you.
Rooms and rest of hotel very nice and clean. So good food. Staff very kind
Position top!!
Near the slopes, and even though no skiing was permitted, we had the most wonderfull walk in the sun.
Worth a visit..we will be back for sure
Everything is just right; from the beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, the 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude, downright scruptious food, convenient wooden heated ski store, short distance to the lift etc. etc.
We absolutely loved it here and will definitely return!!
We were shown to our excellent rooms which were by far the best of any hotel we've stayed in whilst skiing (in line with some of the very best chalets we have used). large beds, jacuzzi showers, lovely views etc.
We booked half board, and the 4 course dinner was really great. We are great lovers of real Italian food and we were not dissapointed; lots of home made pasta and desserts etc. The wine list was great and reasonably priced.
I would rate this hotel very highly for the rooms, the food, the gym , and most importantly the staff. There was a very professional, yet family feel to the place. Several of the staff shook our hands when we were leaving which was a lovely touch.
They recommended a small ski-hire place just a few minutes walk from the hotel which again provided excellent service. The ski lifts were a 5 minute walk and there were NO queues... ever.... not once! So a brilliant place to ski if you prefer skiing to standing in queues.
The one tiny area where they could improve was the 'heated' boot/ski store room. This had a woodburning stove and a heated bootrack, however the stove was only lit the first day we dropped out stuff, and I don't think the boot warmer was ever switched on. We ended up leaving our stuff at the ski rental place, which we wished we had done all along as it saved a couple of minutes walk in the ski clobber. It was a very small issue, which if resolved would have made the stay absolutely faultless!
The town is quaint, with decent food. They're not very into apre ski in Abetone, but the little bar/cafe at the bottom serves after ski treats: beers, Bombadinos, etc. and gets full and buzz'y in season!
The ski slopes also good, well maintained with adequate facilities, etc. though on a smaller scale than the mega resorts. We also had great ski conditions while there, which helps a lot!
Be warned, the road in from the Modena side is longer than it looks, very wind'y and can be tricky in poor weather.
Overall, a very good stay, very good hotel and a beautiful little ski village.
The rooms were lovely and comfortable- very clean and we had a wonderful peaceful sleep. The breakfast was excellent- maybe some eggs would have been nice but otherwise there was plenty of choice. The young man serving breakfast was just great- very smiley and friendly- we appreciated that- everyone made us feel welcome. This is a great hotel.
