Absolutely awesome location within walking distance to great beaches. Read the extensive reviews re the best camp sites. This is a basic NPS campground. Very little shade because it is a barrier island. Paved sites are level and in most areas well spaced out. (Use Google Earth when you are reserving a site). Water and 50 amp electric hookups. Given...

My sister and i went here and loved the people that work there. So helpful and imformative. They also have a Florida trail, very easy to follow. Saw many different birds and turtles. Then we went swimming in Pensacola Bay. Gorgeous beaches there. Also saw Blue Angels practicing. Only a few people there. Perfect. Highly recommend going. Suzanne Sinclair and...

Electric and water hookups. We had a fairly level site. Great access to the Gulf and Pensacola bay. Great for biking and some hiking trails. No hustle or bustle of resort life. Great for fishing off the pier or surf fishing. Will definitely come back.

This campground has a lot of plusses- it is close to the beach and Fort Pickins. However, if you want privacy, it will be tough to find here. The campsites are close together, with very little shade - which of course one might expect on a barrier island. The bath houses were clean, but busy due to the number of...

Had a great time felt completely safe for camping solo. Great family atmoshere. Clean great shower facilities. Did not see patrolling rangers like you see in other parks. But plan ahead because it is booked and probably will not find space. Weather stormed the night before arrival which seemed to open the sites as they were flooded. Grocery shop before...

Fort Pickens Campground is the best choice for camping at Gulf Islands National Seashore if you go there for the sun, the sand, and the sea. But make sure you have reservations - sometimes you’ll need them a year in advance. We made ours two months before our arrival in early April, and the campground was full by the time...

Been to this campground 4 times in 4 years from Kentucky! Love It! Love being close to the beach and yet, away from the overcrowded / vacation location beaches! Little bit of a drive to dine out, get groceries or do laundry but well worth the trade-off! They have recently upgraded the bath houses!!!! GREAT JOB!!! Have my reservations for...

We tent campd in Loop C. The bathhouses were always clean, plenty of hot water for showers. Our site was plenty big enough. There is not a lot of shade in this loop, but the weather was not particularly warm in early April. The location of the campground is somewhat remote-about 20-25 min. to the nearest grocery store, but only...

This is a great beach. Very few people and nice white sand. Good bird watching and if you like history the Fort is worth visiting. The campground is not the best, but not the worst. Some sites are nice, with shade. Others are in a field, with little separation between sites.

I stayed here for a week in a tent in the spring. It rained every day and lightning very close. Real close. Fishing at the park pier was always crowded, so I went to Pensacola Pier much larger, fee. I did manage to hook a large king mac but was using s nylon leader for spanish, what a dodo. He...
