I Love Shenandoah National Park. I have camped, backpacked and stayed in the lodges. I love the rustic atmosphere of the lodge. Service is excellent. Rooms are simple but clean. Food is average. There are many hikes for all levels of hikers. Or you can...More
Always enjoy being out at Big Meadows Lodge (or Skyland or Lewis Cabins) because of the rustic charm and the nature around it. Deer often roam around the Lodge and make you feel being in nature.

Sorry for the late response. The hotel rooms or non-main lodge mostly face the woods. Still pretty though. If you want a valley view, you should stay in the mail lodge. I love those old rooms anyway. Do not expect modern amenities. The rooms are about in the original condition when the place was built. No A/C, small showers or tub, rustic, but I love it. Hope this helps.
