Quaint, charming, simple. We love building a fire in the evening and hiking in Big Meadows at sunset. The air is very fresh in the mountains and the cabin area is very peaceful. We come here several times a year if we can.
The early 20th century cabins are simple, cozy and beautifully built. They are also clean and well maintained. No cooking facilities -- but you can cook out back over a grill. The setting is lovely. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly -- we arrived...More
The Boy and I stayed a night here in a 2 bedroom, very rustic cabin while visiting Shenandoah NP and driving the Blue Ridge Parkway with my brother and his wife. We drove up Skyline drive in very spooky rain, fog, wind and dark to...More

Can't speak to the number of outlets, but the cabins are NOT housekeeping cabins (no kitchen or provisions for food prep indoors) but simply a bedroom & bathroom. Not really even a comfy chair to sit in--pretty basic. There is a covered outdoor cooking/eating area with bear proofed storage container, fire pit, picnic table & chairs. You need to bring your own kitchen gear. Weather was so icky when we were there we never took advantage of this area, just ate at the Wayside. We sat in chairs on the porch until it got too cold, which was an issue inside the cabin as well--we had unseasonably cold & rainy weather, actually left a day early.
