My son and I spent 2 nights here. Since there's only 12 sites here, we stopped at the visitors center at mammoth NP to check on it & the ranger said she it could be full, but they had no way to check. Turns out, it wasn't. We were the only ones there one night, and just one person the...

This was an awesome little campground. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that some of the sites are a little close together, but when I visited in mid-May, only 4 of the 12 sites were occupied. The sites come with a picnic table, a hook for lanterns, and a fire pit. The fire pit also had...

We stayed 3 nights over Easter weekend. The weather was really nice, but the ferry was closed. Site 10 had lots of space and wood was plentiful for fires. The riverbank was very steep and muddy so casual fishing from the bank wasn't very good. There were 4 portos that were fairly clean with the normal spider webs, but there...

The ferry is a nice distraction during the day and when it shuts down at night woohoo the owls start whooting and the world becomes a different place. Most of the banks are a little steep for little little kids my son is 5 and managed...

Over the years I have stayed at Houchins Ferry Campground, Mammoth Cave National Park, Brownsville, KY. Although Kentucky Tourist Guide says this park is not suitable for RV's I disagree. I own a 88FC35 Bluebird Wanderlodge, 35' in length and I can get my coach in all but one of the sites. This park does not have any hookups, but...

We enjoyed camping here by the Houchens Ferry on the Green River. There is fresh water in a spigot. The bathrooms are port-a-pots. But they were actually OK. There are 12 sites. Some of them are little small if you like a lot of privacy. But the campground was only about 1/3 full on Saturday, so we got two good...
