If your plan is to spend a day hiking the amazing trails of Volcano National Park you will be glad you chose Volcano House for an overnight stay. The staff at Volcano House is very welcoming. When you check-in you are greeted with a smile and a cool drink. Our cool drinks were refreshing mimosas! Our room was ready early....

Our family of 4 visited Hawaii National Park in December. The hotel was full, but the hotel has cabins right down the road from VNP. The cabin has 3 beds, 1 king and 1 set of bunk beds. The cabins do not have a private bathroom, but does have a community facility on property. The cabins come with bed linens...

My husband and I were really happy to get reservations for Valentine's day on relatively short notice. They apologized that we would have seating in the middle of the restaurant, instead of at the view windows, but table was great, with view. Felt private, even with extra tables in the restaurant. Service was friendly and professional. Short wait for a...

Room was standard but roomy with a nice walk-in closet. Bath small but adequate. We did not stay on the view side (Kilauea crater), but could enjoy the view from the lobby and restaurants. Staff were very personable, helpful, efficient. Food was good though a bit pricey. You can't beat the convenience of being right in the park and on...

We spent two nights here and loved it. We had reserved 28 and 29, which have an outdoor sitting area with a view of the crater. 30 and 31 also do. The rooms are quite basic, but the amenities are very nice. The bed was very good and had nice linens. No tub but a good shower. The staff were...

The location of this hotel can't be beat as it is the only one inside Volcanoes National Park. The rooms were nothing fancy but was fine. I'd say the price was expensive for what we got in terms of room quality, but I guess we were paying for the location. Got the room with a crater view which was really...

We booked a crater view room and would consider this a necessity. One of the main reasons to stay here is to see the glow from the volcano at night. Another free benefit are the guided tours by park employees that depart each evening at 5pm. Book with reception and give the guys a tip! The hotel location is ideal...

Great historic hotel. We had a room looking directly across from the crater. Beautiful orange glow all night. Worth the extra money. Our room had two queen beds. Small but nice bathroom. Large walk in closet, great place to store suitcases and everything else that accumulates as you travel. No lift, but willingness to help carry luggage upstairs. Reception desk...

If you are at all fussy do not stay here. Walls are paper thin. Towels paper thin. Heard so much about a 3 million dollar upgrade, but now curious on where they spent the money. A little insulation between rooms would have been paramount, in my mind.Stayed awake for hours due to loud snoring in the room next to mine....

We stayed for two nights in the cabins rented out by the Volcano House - they are ~5 minutes away from the hotel, but still in the park. You have all the resources of the hotel - restaurants, activities, free coffee/tea in the morning and cookies at night - for just a short drive. Each cabin nicely appointed with a...
