I don't care if this place was a thatched roof with cots, you get to stay at a hotel on the edge of a volcano, so who cares about anything else?! But this is also a nice place to stay. A bit outdated in terms of features in the room - but so are most national park hotels. It's part...

I wanted to review this wonderful hotel for the staff service. Upon arriving they informed us that our room was not able to be rented out due to a plumbing issue. At first we were very upset. However Sabrina, the manager, offered to put us up in Volcano Inn for free and still provide us with all the guest benefits...

Our stay here was delightful! The front desk staff was exceptional, very polite and helpful. Rooms are clean and well maintained. There is no TV but that wasn't even an issue for us. Lobby area has a beautiful wood burning fireplace with chairs to gather around. Outstanding view of the crater! We ate in the lounge in the evening and...

This is a perfect place to unwind while taking arduous treks around the volcano national park. The restaurant here offers well-thought out combos for lunch which allow one to sample several Hawaiian dishes at a time. The balcony/terrace and the window-seats offer a superb view of the live volcano. There's a sense of history that wraps around one as we...

Volcanoe house is located close to the crater viewpoint. This makes it easy to go back and forth. We were lucky that the volcanoe was visibly erupting lava when we were there, previous days thos was not the case. The hotel was well kept and looked like everything was original but clean. Good bathroom. We had dinner in the bar/restaurant...

We only stayed one night at Volcano house, but it was a perfect way to stop to appreciate the volcano from the crater's edge. Whilst at night time you can only see the lava glow from the hotel, it was a short drive around to the Jagger Museum where people stop to watch the lava bubbling. It was great to...

Stayed for a night to witness the eruption. The location allows for hiking to all the trails around the crater. Convenient for night hiking or early morning trail running. Service was good at the front desk, but lacked in the both dining facilities. I felt the room was not a good value for the price. The hotel was more like...

We stayed here for just one night on our trip to the Big Island in October, 2016. We picked the deluxe crater view room and was not disappointed in the end. After checking in later afternoon, the crater had a cloud cover on it, thereby no donuts. Ultimately had to wait until 2am to get a glimpse of the lava...

The reason to stay here is the fantastic view of the volcano caldera. This amazing site can be seen on the hotel grounds and most rooms. Imagine breakfast overlooking the caldera while planning the days hikes. Return at night and dine to the red glow of lava. Better yet, relax in your room looking out the window at lava. Yes,...

This is a fantastic experience - where else can you see the glow of a volcano's lava lake from your hotel room?! You are at the top of a volcano so don't expect the modern amenities you normally would, albeit they do a pretty good job - rooms are fairly basic though almost on the rustic side. But who cares...
