Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not easy to get to, but one of the best campgrounds I've ever stayed at. Spent three days here and did several hikes on the North Rim. Campground was quiet and the tent sites were nice. Restrooms were always clean. Potable water available. Nice general store with gear, food and souvenirs. Showers and laundry not open this season. Gas station nearby. Hiking trail through camp down to the lodge where great views, hot food and cold beer is available.

This was a beautiful park. The north rim is not near as crowded as the others. This rim is much more wooded, less desert, and peaceful. There are several hiking trails as well. The campground was about 3/4 full, but very quiet. The sites are well spaced and private due to all the trees. There were no hookups at the time of my visit, because of the elevation the temperature was in the upper 70s during the day, and upper 40s at night which is perfect for dry camping. They had drinking water scattered throughout the park, showers, and laundry. There’s a good sized store in the park, a bit expensive because there’s not a store around. Bring your own food and gear if you don’t want to spend a lot of money. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. AT&T cell service was spotty as to be expected in a remote area like this. This park is in the middle of nowhere and difficult to get to, but worth it.

The Grand Canyon: no place else like this on Earth!

This is the nicest National Park Service campground in which we have ever stayed. The rangers and the campground hosts are friendly and helpful. Bathrooms with flush toilets and running water are very clean. The showers and laundry facilities were closed, but boondocking worked out very well.

One has to walk only a few meters from one's campsite to see incredible views of the Grand Canyon and various side canyons.

This is a very average campground in a very amazing locations. Designed by someone in DC who had never camped, many on the one way campsites have your unit facing the road instead of your site. There is no power and because of the trees it is not suitable for solar as well. Consequently if it is hot you will suffer and if it is cold, like this week, you will suffer and listen to other peoples generators. With power this place would be much more pleasant. On the upside there are laundry( even though 75% of the machines did not work)and showers(even though they warned you the water may not be hot and there are no refunds?) It is walk-able to the GC Lodge and several trails.

I reserved a campsite on the N Rim of the Grand Canyon for October one day and cancelled it the next-plans changed. I was able to use my senior park pass for a 50% discount. But Recreation.gov charged me more to cancel than I paid !!! ridiculous. Unfortunately, they are the only way to reserve campsites or cabins in a national park. DOI needs to talk to this .gov group...

It takes a little effort to get to the North Rim, because of the travel and highways. But it is real nature. It allows you to camp within a stone's throw of the rim. We had good Verizon service. The restrooms were very clean and close by.

Very nice camp ground surprisingly quiet. Nice store, showers very helpful rangers. Nice to be so close to Grand Canyon. You can either drive to the lodge or it is a 1.2 mile walk on a trail. Fantastic sites on the rim would have liked to be in one of them.

This campground rates high in my book because it is located in a forest at the rim of the canyon. Campsites are widely spaced and many have some view of the canyon through the trees. Paved pull throughs are handy for bigger RVs and 5th wheels. The big pines give plenty of shade for chilling out during the heat of the day.

On the downside, it's a bit of a hike from some locations up to the one cleaning site for dishes. Also, my site was a premium one, #15, which like #16 is located at the start of the trail along the rim to the lodge. A lot of foot traffic between these two sites, so I would avoid those two next time.

Good general store immediately outside the campground entrance. Showers and laundry, both $1.50, are another 150 yards or so up the road.

Grand Canyon Lodge and the Visitor Center are only 1.5 miles away, and a good place to hang out and dine.

I usually backpack so I'm not used to the "civilization" of a campground but it was great...quiet, clean, easy access to bathrooms and the general store. Very nice campsites with decent spacing and easy, walkable access to trailheads and the Canyon edge - nice place to sit and have morning coffee. I also stayed at the campgrounds inside Zion and Bryce and those were great as well. The only thing I would caution you on...I'm an Easterner and thought the West would be warm if not hot by then. My trip was in late May but it snowed and sleeted one day at the North Rim and got down into the 20's at Bryce at night...80's during the day though. Come prepared for any type of weather.

My wife and I camped 1 night on the North Rim; we stayed in a tent site that was literally 30 yards from the canyon rim. The facilities were standard: general store, showers, laundry, restrooms (not the pit kind). If staying in the tent sites, #1-6 are along the canyon rim, while #7-12 are across the parking area from the rim. The North Rim was not nearly as crowded as the South Rim, while offering similar views.
