This is a sweet little gem of a campground. The sites are compact but this allows for more sites in a popular park. Despite their smallness they feel rather large and are well spaced and I didn't feel like I was on top of folks despite the campground being full each night we were there. The gravel can be a...

If you are choosing between the two main campgrounds at Acadia, you are essentially choosing between location and the campground itself. Blackwoods is PERFECTLY located to explore the main parts of Acadia and Bar Harbor. The drive to town is only about 10 minutes and it's quite close to several entrances to the Loop Road. It's got a small store...

Nice sites, with picnic table, fire pit and space for a tent, modern bathrooms that are well maintained (although not perfect). No showers at the campground but an entrepreneur down the street has some ($2), and there's a nearby store with the stuff you forgot. I don't know whether this is a pro or a con: No wifi, no service...

If you want get away from everything and hike one of the best trails in Acadia national park, this place is perfect for you. We stayed in the B loop, which leads directly to the south ridge trail of the crown jewel of the park, Cadillac Mountain. Watch the stars clearly, or hit the nearby beach. This is your ideal...

Everything about Acadia National Park was fantastic! I knew the reviews had told us so but seeing it in person was soul changing! Camping at Blackwoods was just the cherry on top. Check- in with the Rangers was easy and informative, finding our campsite was quick and getting a basic layout of the grounds all took very little time or...

Tent camping in the National Park over Labor Day weekend.... We lucked out with Beautiful weather. Campground was full yet did not seem crowded. Basic bathrooms-no hot water. Some sites are pretty close together but most campers are respectful of keeping quiet hours. Showers just outside of the campground were fine. Four minutes for $2. We were in A loop...

Not a bad campground, but I wouldn't venture to say it was great. What is great about it is that you are right in Acadia National Park . The bathrooms were mostly clean. No showers if you don't already know that. The sites leave a lot to be desired privacy wise. However, they are currently trying to plant more pine...

Loop B, site 24 was a nice large site for 2 tents and a very large tarp. Easy registration and check out. We appreciated the opportunity to extend our stay for another night by going to the campground office early in the AM (6:50) to get in line for any available spots which had opened up. We were first for...

My family of four camped here for eight nights recently and I highly recommend it! Our site (A31) was everything you could want in a camp site. It was set back from the road and shielded from nearby sites by the forest but had an open area near the tent/fire pit area to allow for awesome star gazing. The restrooms...
