Once again we were wowed on arrival. It really is a very special place so close to Town and it felt good to support our own local tourism industry! Check in was lovely and quick (temps were taken for Covid check). Our room was beautiful and we immediately felt relaxed and as though we were miles away from civilisation. Unfortunately a couple of things were disappointing (again)! The TV and particularly the audio is dreadful and of the cheapest quality and both those and the bathrooms need replacing/updating as they are not at all luxurious or even nice. We were also disappointed with the dust, cobwebs, mould in the shower, ratty (and with incorrect information) compendium and broken blinds. These things are always important and expected for the quality and price of the accommodation but even more so in Covid times to reassure your guests that the rooms are thoroughly cleaned between occupants :-( If these things were rectified it would truly be a luxurious property set in a world class location.

I'm pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you noting some areas where we can improve. We are strict in relation to covid precautionary measures, including temperature testing and cleaning regime, although the dust and cobwebs are sometimes a bit of challenge in the rainforest. The housekeeping team have re-doubled their efforts in this regard. Unfortunately, the blinds in your treehouse had just broken and we were waiting for them to be replaced (which was done immediately after you left). Hopefully your comment next time will be "Fantastic again" without any buts!

The tree houses are really fantastic. The double height windows looking out to forest really provide that wow factor. The room was very large and nicely decorated. The attention to detail with good quality toiletries and little thoughtful extras add to the feeling of luxury and something a bit special. We are definitely what you'd call city slickers so it was so much fun to hear forest noises into the night - a pair of possums having an altercation on our metal roof, twigs falling onto the roof and general bush sounds to remind us we were really surrounded by nature outside, but surrounded by luxury inside. We loved it.

The restaurant was closed on the night we were there so we didn't get to try it. Breakfast was delivered to our door in a small picnic basket and consisted of muesli, yoghurt, juice, a mini quiche, slices of fresh grain bread and condaments. It was perfectly adequate and included in the price. Note it is only served to each room between 8.30am and 8.45am.

We have to mention that the TV reception is quite bad with the signal often being lost in the middle of watching something but I guess that is understandable as the location is fairly isolated in the hinterland. (A cable connection to each tree house would maybe fix that). There is however a decent little collection of DVDs made available to guests in the reception/restaurant area of the property, which helps to fill the TV signal void. There was no wifi in the cabins either, however the literature said wifi was available for free in the reception area.

The reception/restaurant area is exceptionally lovely. Certainly a wow as you walk through the front door!

The bed was really comfortable with good quality bedding and the whole place was immaculately clean. Lovely Melissa was a wonderful host and very kind and friendly.

We will definitely tell our friends that this is the place to stay if they are going to Tamborine Mtn. We loved it.

What a fabulous description of the magic of the rainforest. We are so lucky to be where we are. Our restaurant is now open 5 nights a week, so please do come back and try it. The restaurant is another highlight of staying with us. Thank you also for your comment on cable connections. We have been looking at that. Some guests tell us they want to get away from it all; others prefer the connection. Hope to see you soon!

It's a very welcoming place. The rooms are calming and in a peaceful location. We heard no noise in the evening and had the best sleeps. The spa bath is a treat! Location is good, okay to walk to Main St. The breakfasts were satisfying and thoughtfully put together with local ingredients. Reception sells bath soaks if you want that are locally made for the spa. We stayed 3 nights, we should have stayed 4 nights to enjoy the room a bit more as we were mostly out during the day. WiFi weak in rooms so don't bring work with you!

We enjoyed our stay at the retreat, the accommodation was clean and very spacious. Large comfortable bed, with a spa bath which fits 2 comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful, great place to relax and unwind due to its forrest location. We stayed in Rosella 5 which appears to be the most secluded, however it is also the furthest away and has several steps leading down to the house.
Breakfast is delivered each morning around 8.30ish and contains juice, bread, muesli and something hot, and is very satisfying. The furniture appears to be somewhat antique Chinese but is comfortable. There is a reverse cycle aircon which provides a great temperature wether your looking for coolness or warmth and there is a bio fuel fire for ambiance. Be aware though there is no cooking facilities, I cannot comment on the restaurant as we did not eat there.
A couple of items on the wish list would be mozzie coils as the mozzies are a bit of a pain, and a small BBQ maybe a Webber baby q would be great so you could grill a steak.
Overall excellent visit.

Delighted you enjoyed your stay. Hope you have a chance to come back and try our restaurant next time. It's open every night except Sunday and Wednesday and is one of the highlights of staying at Pethers. Being in the middle of the rainforest, we are under strict fire and safety restrictions, so unfortunately are not permitted to have cooking facilities/BBQ in the treehouses. However, there is a kitchenette with a kettle, toaster, cutlery, etc. Look forward to seeing you again!

Absolutely beautiful location, with beautiful rooms to match!
Our room was so well presented and squeaky clean, with a warm fireplace and bottle of bubbles waiting for us. Bathroom and spa bath were spotless, heaps of clean towels plus bath robes with freshly laundered sheets on a super comfy king bed. Our room was so private and luxeruous, and staff were so friendly and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Cannot recommend highly enough, we will definitely be be back in the future.

The rooms are gorgeous. Absolutely HUGE.

We unfortunately had terrible trouble sleeping at night (Tree house no. 2) Every 20minutes or so as you would start to drift off there was massive BANGS on the tin roof from I'm guessing what was animals playing in the trees knocking down branches. It was like a real African safari! Haha. It gave us a terrible fright each time. Maybe everything was soggy from all the recent heavy rain? I'm not sure..

We chose to only stay one of our 2 nights planned due to Brisbane COVID lockdown and nothing much on the mountain to do the next day (Horseriding etc cancelled) It was a shame to throw away $250 on the second nights accomodation we could no longer enjoy but not much could be done. We didn't realise until we came home and read the reviews that there was internet wifi dongle available. We would likely had stayed on had we of known this (It was important for us to be able to keep in touch with family and friends, news etc) Reviews also read that the chocolate and sparkling was complimentary. Darn, we would have enjoyed some if we had known. Maybe a little sign or tell guests on check in? I notice there wasn't a guest book. Maybe it could be included and could cover these things.

Breakfast was great. (Though I don't know what you would do if you had allergies/dietary restrictions. I don't remember having an say)
Staff were very lovely and we overall enjoyed our stay. Pack mozzie repellent for outside.

Sorry about the wildlife. Usually they are well behaved, but obviously not the night you stayed! The complimentary chocolate and sparkling are in the mini fridge. I apologise if you weren't informed of that. Reception will always help if you can't find anything or need any assistance. We do gluten free and vegan breakfasts and can also cater for other special dietary requirements if given advance notice. Hope to see you again soon - 2 nights as you originally planned is much more relaxing that one.

We arrived thirty minutes earlier than our booking this time, just so we both could spend a little while longer enjoying the surrounds of this beautiful restaurant. The lodge is located high off the ground, right in the rain forest with majestic palm trees of all types reaching for the sky, surrounding the outside deck, it really is amazing. Little wallaby's moving through the forest quickly below us, caught our attention. Our Margarita's in hand we moved to our choice of table. After looking at the menu it took us sometime to decide what to try, everything sounded fantastic. I settled on the Sticky Pork belly with Paw Paw, Nam Jim and toasted peanuts and my partner had the Soft Buffalo Mozzarella with the Arancini balls with Aspargus, we spent the whole time swapping forks and all the different flavors were superb. We also decided to have the Chef's recommended wines to suit each individual meal, no not a bottle just a glass each. With my pork Belly was Apple Cider which really did suit my meal. We had plenty of time between meals which suited us perfectly. For our choice of mains My partner had the grass fed Beef Fillet with a king Oyster mushroom and a rosemary jus, it was full of flavor and to be honest I don't remember ever eating a piece of meat so tender. I settled for the Lamb Loin with preserved lemon and numerous grains & seeds, again a great burst of different flavors especially the preserved lemon. Again served with the chefs choice of wines with each meal, something we will definitely do again next time. My partner who doesn't normally have desert could not help herself and had to order the Lemon & French Lavender Brulee, the hint of Lavender really made this desert, I settled for the Affogato with a Tambourine Mountain butter caramel Liqueur. Our night was finished off sitting in the beautiful leather chairs in the lodge and yes we were the last to leave, I didn't even get the chance to thank the very talented Chefs Obie and Libbi and a huge thank you to the rest of the staff, you ALL really do go above and beyond to ensure everyone has an AMAZING night. If I was the Michelin man I would be giving you as many stars as possible. Amazing food, service and great value. We will be back very soon....Thank you

Pethers tree houses are beautifully located, comfortable, quiet and private. I was so looking forward to this getaway, and for the most part I was really happy. SUPER comfy huge king bed, beautiful spa, amazing rainforest views, peace and quiet. But sadly, the little things made the stay a bit of a let down.
They asked for 7 days notice for any dietary requirements, so being vegan, I provided and had confirmed this in ample time. Upon arrival, I found that I had been given non vegan sparkling wine and chocolate - no vegan substitutes were provided. I also had been given dairy milk in the fridge and had to go to reception to ask for soy milk.
The next morning, the hugely underwhelming breakfast basket was delivered. It had 2 x golden circle juice boxes (the ones you put in kids' lunchboxes), a tiny bowl of fruit, 2 x granola jars, wholemeal bread, dairy butter spread, jams and honey. As I'd been given non vegan food again, I went to reception to ask what the granola was made out of. She said "soy milk, or almond milk, whichever is vegan, its made from that". She then offered me boiled eggs if I wanted something different... Eggs are also not vegan... I wasn't given any substitute for the dairy spread or any plant milk. I had no confidence that the granola didn't contain dairy or honey, so I didn't eat it.
The breakfast basket the next day was mostly the same but didn't have the dairy spread. I went to reception to ask for the ingredient list of the granola and was told it was just oats, almond milk and berries. However there were obviously nuts/fruits in there so again I just wasn't confident that it was vegan. Again, I wasn't given any plant milk and had to again get this from reception. And the fruit was not fresh, bruised and just... Sad.
I can't see why they need adequate time to provide for dietary requirements when they don't actually substitute, they just don't give it to you, yet you pay the same. Not providing for vegans these days is just lazy when vegan options are readily available everywhere, and it's a bit of a missed opportunity for a resort that is meant to be big on sustainability.
So vegans, beware! You will love the ambience but the food options are pretty pathetic for a 'luxury' resort.

Hi Amanda, Thank you for your feedback. I do apologise about the dietary confusion. The granola in your breakfast basket was definitely vegan. It's from Byron Bay and really delicious. It's a pity that wasn't made clearer to you and so you couldn't enjoy it. We normally have lovely organic juices in recyclable bottles. They are one of the highlights of the breakfast basket, but unfortunately the supplier was out of stock when you stayed with us. The complimentary sparkling wine and chocolates - unfortunately we don't have a vegan option for the chocolate, but should have offered you sparkling water instead. Thanks again for your feedback. We'll do better next time. Warm regards

It was our first time to Mt tambourine and Pethers. Was a beautiful private location surrounded by nothing but rainforest and the sounds of birds calling. The room was perfect with the fireplace and spa bath creating a romantic setting for the two of us to just switch off from our busy lives and enjoy being a couple. The staff were wonderful and the In room dining was superb. Just a beautiful romantic four nights.

Zero complaints, in fact I have a thousand too many compliments. This place is incredible, the staff friendly and the room (which is more or less a full, 5 star, cabin) beyond amazing. Our only critique is the restaurant, which has a degustation menu, recycled three nights per week. We recommend changing this to include a non-set menu, because we would have loved to eat there again on the second night, but we had already tried the entire menu and because of this we ate elsewhere. Smart business would be to alter the set menu to include more options, or at least change the set menu nightly if you're going to keep it.
We highly recommend Pethers, and we look forward to staying there again!
