Having previously stayed at Avocado and Sunset, and loved the place and the excellent hosts, we were a little concerned when we heard that it had a new owner. There was no need- Clive, is a wonderful host- charming, friendly, extremely efficient, very informative, and a talented cook. We enjoyed getting to know him, and look forward to going back for further visits. We have so far stayed in the Safari room, the Oriental room, and the Daintree room. The Safari and Daintree rooms both look out to the valley, and are worth every cent- comfy, and very well appointed.

This is the fourth time my husband and I have stayed at the Avocado Sunset. Nestled in the stunning rainforest, with incredible views overlooking the scenic rim, it never fails to disappoint. Our host Clive was warm, welcoming, incredibly helpful and put on a fantastic breakfast spread each morning. The rooms are uniquely themed, and are cosy, extremely comfortable and quiet with all that we could need for a relaxing peaceful retreat away from our busy lives. We look forward to our next visit!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Safari room. We wanted relaxation, and we absolutely got it. Clive was a great host, extremely attentive but never intrusive. Little touches included the pre-built fire in the grate, (all we had to do was light it when we were ready for it), help-yourself-port, bath salts and candles around the enormous spa bath and a wonderful cooked breakfast each day.

Our favourite part was just sitting on the balcony with cheese and wine and enjoying the spectacular view (photo does not do it justice). If you are visiting this lovely little part of the world, we definitely recommend Avocado Sunset Bed and Breakfast.

A well appointed property, we stayed in the Mediterranean room which had a lovely balcony with valley views and many thoughtful incluusions, it was nice to wake up in the morning to the sound of many different birds. We watched the sunset from the rear balcony which was fabulous. Next morning your gracious hosts Jill and Mel make you a scrumptious breakfast to start the day. Handy location to local attractions and eateries.

Our stay was excellent, from the moment we booked the communication with Clive was excellent and he was more than accommodating with our later check-in. Clive is an excellent host and the facilities are excellent. A nice touch was the complimentary local port to enjoy whilst relaxing on the deck watching the sunset. The breakfast cannot be faulted and the omelette was so good we had to have them each morning of our three night stay. We had the Mediterranean Suite and it was perfect for a couple. Clive was more than happy to give suggestions of places to eat and explore and clearly loves the Mt Tamborine area. I will recommend Avocado Sunset Bed & Breakfast to family and friends and we will be back again.

This B & B was exceptional in many ways. Our host Clive Lucas was affable and charming as a great host. And he cooks a legendary breakfast not just your usual cereal, long life milk and packaged coffee. Our room looked over an extravagant view, was clean, plenty of space and the bed was comfortable. The lounge area, for guests, was a good conversation starter as he hails from South Africa which is reflected in his artwork - lovely stories to go with each and every piece. It is not overly expensive and certainly for what you get in return for your dollars, is, exceptional. Highly recommended from a couple who has travelled the world and seen accomodation that is very, very bad to exceptional. This is one of them.

Stayed as a couple midweek in the safari room. There is an outstanding view overlooking the rainforest and out onto mountain ranges. The room was clean, beautifully appointed, had a comfortable bed, cosy log fire and great attention had been paid to detail in keeping to the theme of the room.

Clive is a very friendly and accommodating host who makes a great breakfast. The property is just a few minutes drive from rainforest walking tracks, Gallery Walk, botanical gardens and cafes and restaurants.

We had dinner at Three Little Pigs Bar and Bistro one night which was excellent and Leaf Japanese which unfortunately only offer takeaway during the week but was still a nice meal.

Highly recommend a stay at Avocado Sunset!

From the time we arrived Mel and Jilly have looked after everything. We are in the Mediterranean room with views over the valley. Breakfast was served to suit our arrangements and was delicious. Would recommend anyone wanting a nice getaway to come here. They were also very considerate by catering for a gluten free diet.

Spent 3 nights in the Safari Room this past week. As our trip to Africa was cancelled this year we especially appreciated the touches of South Africa throughout the house. Our wonderful host Clive is South African. The room was perfect with stunning views from the private small balcony. A wood burning fireplace was a welcome addition although we did arrive in a warmish week for winter. There is a large spa bath as well. The breakfasts are delightful and varied. Great quiet location with plenty of eateries a very short drive away. Clive could not have been more helpful with all aspects . Highly recommended

There is soft drinks, water and snacks all complimentary in a mini fridge. I have not found this at any other B&B we have stayed at.
