Went for the June long weekend and we were very impressed.
Richard cooks a pretty good breakfast and his poached eggs are top draw.
Rooms are nice, bed is comfortable.
Only downside was the bathroom is a bit close to the bed
Walking distance to most things

This place is a quiet little B&B... Tucked away in Mt Tamborine... Run by a beautiful elderly couple. Richard is very lovely, informative & friendly... A weekend away was Just what we needed after celebrating our birthdays all week in Surfers Paradise. Nice change from the norm. Definitely a place to unwind... Not wind up! A big Thank you to Richard & Elizabeth for comfortable & relaxing weekend.

We stayed in the private cottage which is also a part of this establishment. It was cosy and clean, close to everything you may require and within walking distance of the gallery walk. The host Elizabeth was wonderful! Dispite her husband being rushed to hospital the day we arrived she still managed to make us feel more than welcome and ensured we enjoyed our stay. This retreat is their home and their passion and it is reflected in the standard they have. Fully recommend this retreat.

very disappointed in the price and the rooms, i would call the rooms average certainly not five stars, maybe 3 at best. We travel a lot and i know what to expect from five star hotels and B & Bs. Yes the hosts are lovely, and knowledgable about the surrounding area, however we were told to be back by 9pm because thats when he locks the doors. Wow i felt like i was living back at home with my parents. The rooms are comfortable, but very old fashioned with fake flowers, stuffed animals etc nice if you like that kind of thing. Someone else wrote that the lounge for the guests is huge, i dont think so, there is two, two seater lounges in there, a coffee table and a nice fire but hardly huge. The spa is a hot tub in a iron structure behind the house, it was never turned on when we were there, yes we could have asked but i guess i was expecting something
else. Breakfast was very nice, but limited in choices, for example you couldnt even have bacon and eggs, and even when my husband asked for a fried egg one morning, the host seems surprised stating it had been years since he had made a fried egg. I wouldnt stay here again, at over $200 for a saturday night it is vastly over priced.

We have stayed in other accommodation in the local area before in a similar price range and this place is over priced for what it is.
They should take "Spa Retreat" out of the title. There was a single spa bath in the yard. Plenty of places have spa baths that are not Spa Retreats.
The rooms were small and the entire "ensuite" bathroom was obviously converted from a former wardrobe. I literally could not sit on the toilet straight on as there was no room (I'm average height).
I had to ask for the wifi password and the owner was clearly nervous about it. The wifi never worked the whole time and there was no phone signal.
The kettle was unusable as it appears that it had never been cleaned or descaled. We couldn't have any tea or coffee as a result.
This I admit is a matter of taste, but I'd rate the decor as appealing to most people who have already passed away due to old age.
We didn't stay for the free breakfast as by that stage we weren't up for any further disappointment.
Recommend staying somewhere else in the area.

My wife and I have been to this resort twice. We enjoyed the warm hospitality of the owners who made us feel we were at home. The resort has a warm homely setting with comfortable furniture and is full of character. The Lounge has a great selection of books for a relaxing evening. You can also enjoy the walk in the beautifully designed garden.
There is a 10 minute easy walk to the water falls and glow worms.
Another thing that I really enjoyed was the fact that there was no reception or internet in the room our stay as totally uninterrupted. Last but not least, the breakfast is delicious, healthy and generous :-)
Definitely recommend this place is you're looking for a relaxing get away from city life.

We have just stayed at Curtis Falls Mountain Spa Retreat. Oh my goodness.. from booking to checkout, I personally cannot thank Richard enough.
We had a slight hiccup with our initial plans and discussed with Richard about our options. He was so pleasant in our rescheduling and changing of plans right up until 2 days before our stay.
Upon checking in we met Richard and Elizabeth and i just wanted to cuddle them.. it seems so appropriate that they should host a teddy bear cottage.
We stayed in the cottage. Richard and Elizabeth escorted us to the cottage and explained the ins and outs. Our fridge was aptly stocked with breakfast goodies for the next morning.
The cottage itself was very clean and homely. Not "hotel like and sterile" as some places can be.
When it came to bed time.. as the heading suggests.. BED HEAVEN!!.. the mattress was dreamy and the sheets really pleasant to sleep in.
After a wonderful nights sleep, a massive breakfast was had by myself and my husband. Even he could not finish what was served up.. thats saying something.
We are returning back there in June and cannot wait to spend a cold winters night in the little cottage.
I cannot thank Richard and Elizabeth enough for our overnight stay. :)

Booked and paid to stay at Curtis Falls and was looking forward to a five star experience. The whole place was extremely disappointing and would struggle to achieve a single star let alone the 5 self rated they promote. The spa we were expecting was a little garden cabin with a dirty old bath in it. How they can call it a spa retreat, I don't know. It's way overpriced for what it is and unless you are prepared to be ripped off, don't stay here. The only saving grace is that is well located.

This was a lovely B&B in the perfect location in mount tambourine.
Check in was seamless and had a personal touch with an introduction to the resident dog, Tammy.
Room was clean and comfortable, although a bit small and stuffy. Windows open to let in fresh air and there is air conditioning.
Owner was very friendly and personally cooks breakfast in the morning with a delicious array of extras. Enjoyed our stay.

A beautiful home very well set up to allow for a comfortable romantic couple of nights for my wife and I. Our host's were generous and welcoming, making us feel, and enjoy being part of the 'mountain' lifestyle.
A wonderful getaway with friendly people.

"I didn't see the other accommodation options, but the smallest room suited me while on my own. A larger room may be more suitable for a couple staying a few days, but the lounge/library is a great place to relax and chat over a glass of wine."Read full review
