I stayed here a few weeks ago with my partner he surprised me for my birthday and we had a very romantic night in this amazing relaxing getaway surrounded by rainforest , there is only about 8 cottages on the property and all spread out so you have lots of privacy. When we arrived my partner had organised a hot stone massage in our room and on arrival, and also he had ordered champagne and truffles we enjoyed together after the massage. Our room was perfect i loved the spa which looks out into the rainforest every detail was perfect and very clean , the bar fridge was full some snacks and sweet available in your room. We went to dinner at the estates restaurant and it was defiantly 5 star il add some photos the food looked perfect and tasted even better. Our dinning setting was very romantic again beautiful views overlooking the grounds and out into the rainforest our waiter was very kind attentive and took the time with us when we had questions about the menu, we had the 3 course A-La-Carte i had to take photos of our meals because iv never seen such perfection on a plate. When we got back to our room we had wine on our cozy balcony and all you can hear is the wildlife very relaxing and no other noises around. We live on the gold coast and Tamborines only a half hour drive for us but it felt like a mini holiday away from the city lights. Our breakfast basket was delivered the next morning at the requested time it was so yummy . I would defiantly stay here again and recommend if your looking for a romantic get away come visit Songbirds .

We've managed to stay a couple of nights at Songbirds after after lockdown was lifted few days before, we weren't sure if we could stay as dates booked were very close to our lockdown dates so we've phoned up & the friendly staff at Reception was happy to offer a voucher if we could not make it due to lockdown so we were confident with not wasting our booking & not cancelling it. We were happy we didn't cancel our booking as we were so anticipated to our Getaway stay & finally made it in such a short down. The stay was so invigorating, the villa was kept so clean & the amenities were excellent, they even have plates, cups & cutleries with microwave oven & toaster which was a great help as we did not want to drive out in the dark for dinner through winding road, so we were able to have our dinner infront of the fireplace that kept us warm through the night being cold winter here. The bath tub with enough hot water was also a bonus so we could soaked up & kept warm those couple of nights but make sure you're in the tub before pressing the Jacuzzi button otherwise the spray will have water splashing everywhere, that was a funny experience that we had to jump in to the bath very quickly to stop the splashing as there's no button to stop the jacuzzi. The surrounding & sounds of bird chirping was so amazing, totally a enjoyable getaway retreat, i would return to stay again maybe in warmer days like spring or autumn would be so nice and the walk up to see the little farm & Alpacas was such a treat, definite recommend to stay and worth it. The highlight of the stay would be the fireplace & sounds of the birds morning & late afternoon... the best!

We visited this accomodation during new year break with our geriatric pup. Tranquil place with lots of wildlife and alpacas and chickens, they had peacocks too. We enjoyed the birds song all day long and cicada’s during night time. Beautiful place to stay. The villa was clean and the services were above and beyond! It always a good feeling to stay in a place that we could feel as home. It was a wonderful break we had and a bit regret to stay for a short time.

For us, the breakfast was amazing. Loaded and full. However, we look forward for the restaurant to re-open as currently the restaurant is closed.

The veggies garden a bit over grow and some works may be required on some path ways as the dirt path a bit slippery during the rainy season. However we saw so many potential things that could bring this place a fortune including the plan of bush tracking trail in the future. We are looking forward to see this place growing in eco-friendly concept and can’t wait to revisit this place during the Easter break :)

We stayed for 3 nights in Villa 4. I initially thought the villas would be further apart than they actually are however it was very quiet, tranquil and private. This villa had an amazing outlook which was the highlight of our stay. We had a similar experience to the reviewer Greg (May 2022), same villa (freezer is still frozen) however the restaurant is no longer open due to no chef, also agree with Cathy's review (Apr 2022). Take note if booking here it's worth a phone call, if you can get through to reception, to ensure you book what you think you are as all the villas appear to be different. Ours had a gas fire whereas others have noted (and we saw the smoke) they have wood fires. Some have outdoor bbqs, heaters and hot tubs, ours didn't. Also size varies.

The king size bed was super comfy, the breakfast basket (book direct) was awesome with lovely warm goodies (croissants, quiche, banana bread, bacon) along with some orange juice, fresh fruit, cereal and yoghurt. The pullout bed was perfect for our 8yo son who also enjoyed visiting the alpacas daily. The villa is located close to all attractions, waterfalls/walks, gallery walk, restaurants. The staff we did see were pleasant.

Easy place to relax and unwind. The grounds and villa 4 just need some TLC to bring them back up to scratch especially for the current asking rate.

Hi there ,we stayed for one night in rooms 2 and 6.
On arrival entering the grounds we were impressed with the beautiful driveway . Unfortunately it went downhill from there. The receptionist seemed put out by our arrival and we seemed to be an inconvenience.

Our rooms were not at all private as advertised, looking into next doors bathroom.

The rooms themselves were beautifully set out and we loved looking out into the trees. The bathroom was pretty grotty and very neglected.

Booking on the internet we expected to dine at the restaurant. This was closed and we had no cooking facilities. When we asked for a bbq it seemed again like a problem.

However we did get one , had a lovely dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the alpacas.

The grounds are very sadly in disrepair and I realize the last couple of years have been very hard. I think the staff are doing their absolute best and I hope that in the future this place returns to it’s incredible possibilities, of being a beautiful ,peaceful and restorative getaway.

I wish you guys all the very best
Kate

Our overnight getaway was simply fantastic.
The rainforest vllla was spacious clean and very relaxing via a bottle of champagne sipped in the outside spa.
We were very impressed with our meal at the Songbirds restaurant. Hot tip...try the degustation menu.....absolutely delightful. Local chef Andrew knows his stuff. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.
The next morning after waking to a chorus of rainforest birds we were delivered a beautiful breakfast hamper and enjoyed a stroll around the beautiful organic gardens that service the kitchens.
We found alpaca's,peacocks, chickens and Guinea fowls wandering around . We left happy and recharged ready to head back to the hussle and bussel.
We booked direct to receive a very pleasant surprise. We will be returning 👍🏻

In such a beautiful location, the villas are surrounded by rainforest, we received the breakfast basket and the food was amazing, all so fresh. Reception staff were lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately there was some let downs, we went to use the spa bath and when we turned the jets on brown water came bursting out all over my husband and the water absolutely stank of sewerage, the smell filled the whole room, it was extremely gross. The vegetable garden wasn’t open till spring but that wasn’t advertised on their website and it was all extremely overgrown which was a little disappointing, even the lime garden area was all extremely overgrown, the alpaca/llama area was also a bit of a let down and nothing like advertised. It’s almost like the owners have just let everything go, it’s super disappointing considering the reviews I read previously.

After 3 previous visits we felt we had some idea what we may expect here but the restaurant had been closed for approx. 12 months and reopened in the 1st of August 2020.
We understand the huge challenges and resultant restrictions has imposed on all, this one included and our expectations was somewhat tempered by these additional pressures placed on restaurant owners.
Staff were efficient enough, businesslike would be the best way to describe their interactions and if that's what people like that's fine I personally prefer a little bit more warmth, just like my partner does.
Decor, layout and fittings of restaurant, 10 out of 10.
Presentation of the food was 10 out of 10.
The dessert that we had was 11 out of 10 for presentation flavour and serving size just outstanding, refer attached photo. Dessert was Hazelnut praline semifreddo with honeycomb orange and Campari ice cream.
My main of Prawns was beautifully plated, tasty and otherwise faultless except it was tepid, plate was cold and plate clearly pulled what little warmth the main had, out of the small meal
Entree was beautifully plated, but unfortunately cold, it's plate was similar, unheated.
Wine selection was fine and I was delighted with my choice, wine prices were ok.
There was no pepper or salt on table and none offered, quite unusual for so called fine dining.
Given the prices, our modest expectations were not quite met, but still enjoyed the meal thank you!

Songbirds was one of my most magical dinner experiences of all time.
The setting was quite beautiful and tranquil and yes you can hear all the bird songs as dusk approached.
We chose the 8 course degustaion menu which we would highly recommend .
The chef was genius and created a joyous experience for the eye and pallet, pure deliciousness .
The extensive wine list was really impressive also and we enjoyed some great Australian Chardonnays.
This all served with complete knowlage and passion for every dish by our waiter who was just wonderful.
Thanks to all the kind staff who really made our occasion so special.

If we could rate any higher then 5/5 we would!

The rooms are beautiful, the whole ambiance of the fireplace/large spa bath and tranquility of the deck with rainforest views and sounds is perfect.

The staff here, have been amazing, everyone was so welcoming and above and beyond accommodating.
Friendly, professional and really helpful.

We originally booked six cabins for our interstate family members to join us for a mini vacation and stay before and after a wedding-
however due to corona we were required to cancel all but three cabins, Songbirds was so helpful and understanding, nil issues with us requiring cancelation.

The breakfast is beautiful and brought to your cabin door.
The stay for three nights was amazing, we are so happy we stayed here- even saw and fed
Alpacas on the property. Very happy and thankful

Hi Kerry, After 14 years of hard slog our restaurants is now closed for al la carte dining and only open for functions of 20+ guests and of course we do our beautiful weddings. We are also making these amazing grazing platters for our 'in house' guests. This means you can come and stay with us, have a gas ember fireplace,a king size bed, a lounging area with a large relaxing suite,a double spa bath, L'occitane amenities, a gown and slippers and have a night in. You can BYO wine or buy from us. Villa guests are also welcome to come down to the restaurant 8:30am to 6pm to enjoy choices from our VG wine list, a cocktail, coffee, gourmet teas and even have their platter in our indoor/outdoor restaurant and lounge area. Come and stay with us!
