We had a fabulous holiday at Cedar Creek Lodges. From the moment we booked until checkout the service was fantastic. The resort is a combination of a adventure park plus place to stay with everything from tent pitches to luxury lodges so it's an interesting mix of luxury and roughing it! We were lucky enough to be put in a glamping tent with its own hot tub which really was so deep and large it really was more like having our own hot pool! The tent had everything you could wish for from king bed to TV to amazing outdoor shower and bathroom. The whole outdoor area was fabulous with table and chairs, pool and bbq area. The only improvement I could suggest is to have some way to get to this area without having to go through the tent. We were there with a group who in order to visit us had to walk through our bedroom each time! We didn't see any of the other accommodation inside but our friends were in a lodge which they also said was great. The communal area of the lodges has a kiosk which serves everything from coffee to ice cream to burgers and pizza and a restaurant that serves what looked like a fabulous breakfast (we at at our tent) and serves dinner. We at dinner here together and had a lovely evening in a beautiful setting and really were blown away by the standard of food. There is also a bar and pool table area which our kids enjoyed. Then there is the park itself which is a separate business but is intertwined with the lodges. You can choose to do zip lining, treetop adventures, mining, panning and crazy golf. We did it all and our kids LOVED it! The thing to be aware of is if you have to book the zip line and treetop adventure in advance. Also beware the treetop adventure is quite scary for wimps like me. I had no idea! Mt Tambourine itself is a beautiful area and if I'd known I would have allowed more time to explore the area. There are lots of good places to eat (although a lot close in the evenings), some great cafes and tea houses and lots of quirky shops. You can also go wine tasting in the area. All in all this was a fabulous trip for a group with kids, can highly recommend.

So you think you book a holiday in a nice, calm, natural resort - and you end up in a big theme park and a wedding venue! We stayed up all night, because there are wedding parties blaring very very loudly all over the compound. The most terrible music too. The rooms are not what they should be like for the price you pay in this place. And if you happen to make the mistake and stay here, be warned - and bring your own food. The restaurant is bloody terrible, the coffee at the kiosk is the worst I've had in Queensland. The staff, what staff? There is none around, so you wait forever if you want or need anything. And if you do speak to a manager, they are terribly rude and completely will-less to help. What an utter disappointment this experience here was!

This has been posted on google as well. We have copied our google feedback, which follows... My goodness! This feedback says more about the calibre of the reviewer than it does us. It's a shame we cannot post photos of the disgusting way this family left their accommodation which included a burnt-out frypan - that we will need to replace - and the rubbish and food scraps left all over the benches. Not to mention the appalling way they treated our staff, who did everything in their power to appease them, but still to no avail! We have an amazing team, and it is not appropriate that they should be treated in such a discourteous manner.

We were extremely excited to visit this weekend, however unfortunately, were very disappointed with our stay. We found the staff to be unfriendly and upon check in gave me the key and didn't give us a welcome or introduction to their accomodation as most other places do (e.g. site map, wifi, activities, etc). There was no information book or compendium in our room, so I had to walk back down to reception to ask about wifi where the girl didn't even look up from her computer and pointed at the QR code on the table behind me. The room was extremely average and run down for a 'Premium Room' as advertised. It smelt musty upon arrival and the carpet was stained and walls dirty, as well as around the edges and corners of the floor. There were no drinking glasses, only wine glasses which were dirty and had lipstick marks around the top. This made us feel as though all dishes were unclean and had to wash everything upon using. The only sink for this was the bathroom sink. We were not at one stage (prior to our booking, or upon checking in) told about the weddings they were hosting on both nights of our stay. This needs to be disclosed to bookings as the music is very loud until 1030-11pm, and then the guests trickle back to their rooms loudly after with no care for other guests staying. The adjoining room walls are paper thin and we could hear everything the room next to us talked about and their coughing and snoring kept us awake both nights. There is no designated smoking section and guests are permitted to smoke where ever they like. The ash trays outside each room encourage other guests to smoke outside their room which made our room smell and anytime we walked out of our room we walked into a plume of smoke. Upon checking out, I expected to be asked about our stay and experience, but the girl grabbed the key and asked nothing. Staff at the cafe and restaurant were also very solemn and unfriendly. Would not recommend staying here, there are much nicer place within a short drive.

Thank you for your review. We were quite disappointed to read of your experience, particularly regarding the customer service. We generally receive excellent feedback about our team, however, we have passed this feedback onto our Reservations Manager for her to address with her team. Your comments about the rooms are noted and have been forwarded onto our Housekeeping Manager for her investigate. It is a shame these issues weren't brough to our attention at the time, as we definitely would have rectified them immediately for you, which would have made your stay with us more comfortable and enjoyable. Our apologies for the noise issues from the onsite wedding. We are a very popular wedding resort and host over 200 weddings a year. In saying that, we rarely receive noise complaints as the weddings are usually wrapped up by 10pm or 11pm at the latest with the music down to an acceptable level from 10pm. In regards to smoking, we do have signs up at the hotel rooms saying that guests are not permitted to smoke within 5 meters of the building - unfortunately, when staff are not around, guests will do as they see fit and will smoke wherever they like. We do our best to monitor and control this. As I said, it is a shame this wasn't brought to us earlier, as I am positive we could have turned all of this around :)

I've taken quite a bit of time to write this review as I hope it gets taken seriously and some changes be made not for my sake but for the sake of others I'd seriously hate for any family to have to experience what we did these school holidays. Saftey concerns. the paths are not lighted properly you will be waking along a flat footpath and then all of a sudden it goes to stairs or a drop off with no warning and no way to be able to see this is going to happen There is a lake that is unfenced that children can quite easily drown in if they were to happen to wonder as young children often do. Needs to be fenced as most other lakes as required to do so even swimming pools are fenced. So this makes no sence as to how they can have it fenced? The showers are boiling hot in temperature and takes almost turning the cold all the way on to even get a tiny bit of cold There was no bottled water in our fridge as it states there should be multiple ? However the jug we did have tasted like cleaning chemicals and when telling staff about this they did nothing and didn't even bring me or offer me any fresh water My other concerns and problems . Literally only rating one star to make a review. This place was the most worst experience for a family holiday ever in our lives We booked a lodge and ended up in a budget motel at best. With no tap water to drink, We had to drink from a bathroom sink next to the toilet there was a light on outside our window all night. Dirty Sheets. And only 1 shampoo conditioner and soap given between 4 people , heater was broken so we froze the whole night If you wanted your window blind open there is absolutely no privacy as everyone can see into your room and the walkway is less then two meter from where u are lying in bed And be prepared to literally be treated as though your needs and requirements are not there problem as we stated upon our arrival that our accommodation had been a misunderstanding and were very displeased with this as we were expecting a lodge not a sub standed room. to only be told it is our own fault. And that our children where not aloud at any of the other lodges And there is nothing they could do about it and the whole motel complex we had been put into is labled as a excutive lodge And When Discussed with manager We Were Told that ( excetive is just a word and that the manager states its not a lodge. Yet online and on the key it clearly states its a (excetive platypus lodge ). The Wood lodges next door to us. Is labled as just a lodge yet there Were a full house with a fire pit. What we were expecting. Yet an ( executive lodge ) gets u chucked into a budget motel room. Go and figure how that works anyone would think executive is better then just a normal lodge. After discussing this with the manager he stated that I was the first person ever who had said this. Yet Upon Returing Home And Reading countless numbers of reviews I see many people have experienced the same problem and were expecting a lodge to be put in a dogey budget motel at best nothing excutive about it except for the location maybe consider changing the name from platypus lodge to (platypus rooms ) if you dont want to admit its a motel. ( Even know it is ) as you can clearly see there is misunderstanding with this matter and not just with myself as management had stated. So really No matter what way u put it you are misleading customers who travel a long way for a experience they could have just recieved at a closer and better motel They don't vacuum the rooms upon request and expect you to pay for new sheets if you would like them changed. Me having worked in hotel managment and cleaning knows this is just appalling as it's substandard. Absolutely every activity there isnt what it says it is there's no bird feeding its bird watching as you are unable to feed touch or even move the food bowls. You need to be a meter back from the birds at all times. The dig it wasn't even open or able to be booked same as the lazer also they advertise farm barm aqua park which were unavailable yet needed to be booked two day in advance neither even excisted yet labled as an attraction. the rock pools aren't at that venue location The children's tree top challenge was 220 for a family which is absolutely ridiculous pricing considering its only around 30 mins. 45 mins The sky walk on mount tambourine was much better experience much more lovely and accommodating staff so happy to accommodate our needs at last minute upon arrive due to our lack of help for transport recieved from cedar creek lodges. I have left them an amazing review as they deserve it the experience was what made our holiday. and for a much cheaper price 40 for the whole family so if you are staying on the mountain I suggest going to the sky walk instead of anything at tthe thunderbird park / cedar creek lodges.

This guest was an absolute nightmare from arrival. She booked a hotel room on our website and upon arrival, was overly upset and emotional because she was expecting a stand alone lodge (which is not what she booked). We did our best to calm her down - she met with 3 different managers throughout her time here, but continued to insist she was given the wrong room. The review is full of lies and should never have been allowed to be published. The guest also failed to mention that we offered her a 50% refund, just to appease her, even though we were not at fault.

RWR Rainforest Writing retreat of 60 people. We highly recommend the Sanctuary, a perfect venue for 3 days or more. We had table and chairs, 2 projectors, a fire going in the back ground & also air-conditioning. A fully stocked bar is also available in this venue. A small step outside onto the verandah for lunch with the most serene rainforest view and creek inviting a calm moment before going back inside for more learning. Morning and afternoons teas were fresh and high quality. Dinner was held in the wedding venue with fairy lights, a full bar and a dance floor, right next door the fire pits invited you in for a chat. It was just beautiful and the food, DELICIOUS. There was plenty of accommodation and the staff were kind, courteous and helpful. Plenty of parking. Retreaters who brought family along had plenty of things to do, see and experience. The main resturant had a variety of food prepared by an excellent chef and the bar area was quaint and inviting. There is so much to see and experience and at least 30% arrived a day early and left a day later than the 3 day retreat. We will certainly be returning next year. A big shout out to Cassie who looked after us and our friendly Caretaker Chris. Well done to all your staff.

We went for a wedding, which was absolutely beautiful, as most are. Staying 2 nights and enjoyed the ambience of being in nature. The resort could do with some refurbishment in areas, but we were delighted to be there as we caught up with old and new friends. We had no time to participate in any of the activities on offer. We had several meals whilst there, going to the restaurant for breakfast, which was a smorgasbord. We found most of the staff were helpful and friendly, although I feel that the staff in the Terrace kiosk require some training in customer service. All in all we enjoyed our short stay.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Cedra Creek Lodges at Thunder Bird Park, and I found it rather disappointing. I was under the impression that it was all standalone cabins but that was not the case. I think a standalone cabin would have been much better. 1. The Heritage Spa room we stayed in was part of a line of motel type rooms on the hillside part of the park. If you are elderly or have a disability it is quite a walk down to Thunder Bird Park where the Kiosk and Restaurant are located, but then you must walk back up again so that could be challenging for some. You can drive down to the car par park near the restaurant though. 2. The room was dated and could do with a complete upgrade. The main point being, that you had to unplug appliances to be able recharge ipad/phone etc. There were no power points next to the bed and the only one near the bed was at the back of it, which required you to pull the bed out and unplug the lights. Poowre points with USB ports would do the trick. Also, I think the spa bath should be separate from the shower, as it poses a slip hazard getting in and out. 3. The parking areas at the building are numbered for the room, however if, which happened to us, some ignorant person decides to park in your car park spot, then it causes a flow on effect, as you them must park in someone else’s spot. It wasn’t a big problem; however, we did notice that someone also double parked behind the vehicle in our room number spot the next morning. 4. It was a Saturday, and there was a wedding on the far side of the park, and the beat of the music was flowing up to the high area of our building, not a big problem, but if you wanted an early night that wasn’t going to happen. 5. At around 1100pm a group of people, obviously from the wedding, decided that they would stand outside our room and have a loud talk and laugh, to the extent that I had to ask them to be quiet, as other people were trying to sleep. To their credit, they apologised, and the noise slowly drifted away. 6. At 1130pm the people in the room next to us decided to have a spa bath (the noise is loud enough to keep you awake). That went on until midnight. 7. At 6:00am, people once again, could be heard outside talking/singing then at 6:30am the people in the room next door decide to have another spa bath. Too bad if you wanted to sleep in. 8. Dinner at the restaurant was great, the food was very good and well presented, and the staff were very efficient. Having made all the above points, I would point out that, except for the room, none of the above were the fault of the Lodges management, it is just to point out what can happen in that location. As I said, I think the cabins on the creek would be a better choice. It is a great place to take the kids, but if you have 3 or 4 kids it would be very expensive to try out all the attractions. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic getaway, this is not the place. Would we stay there again? Probably not.

We would like to thank this guest for sharing his experiences. It is a shame that people are so disrespectful of others and we regret this occurred when this couple stayed with us. A suggestion regarding our accommodation options: the following link will reflect quite clearly what all of our accommodation options are, by both their images and descriptions... https://www.cedarcreeklodges.com.au/rooms-lodges.html The newer upgrades - all with USB ports - are naturally priced higher than the older styles. We will get to refurbishing them all over time, but it's impossible to do it all at once.

My partner and I attended the Mt Tamborine Wedding Expo and learned of this venue. We tried to call to book an appointment to view many times, however their phone lines were down everyday. Their website says to email instead, so we sent through three Enquiries; none of which were responded to with a way to book a viewing within the next 2 weeks on a weekend. All emails were responded to with a standard form rather than a way to talk to an actual person. We were in the area viewing another venue and stopped by to see if we could talk to someone in person and the view the venue. We were told that the relevant staff members were busy. We asked if we could book in a time the following weekend to view the venue and we’re advised they had one opening at 11:00am on Saturday. Unfortunately this is when we have another venue viewing booked in for whom actually responded enthusiastically to our attempts at communication. If Cedar Creek Lodges are too busy to take on more business, maybe they should stop attending wedding expo’s to drum up business. How disappointing. Our advice to other couples is not to bother.

This reviewer left a 1 star review on Google as well. The following is our management response to the google review... We always value feedback, however we are struggling with this reviewer's assessment. We don't apologise for being a popular wedding venue and for the efficiency in which we handle speedy responses to all enquiries. We have 3 wedding co-ordinators who are all heavily booked with property tours. We have also been having phone issues that have arisen from us transferring from ISDN lines to ones that are compatible with our new system. This is noted on our website and we have been completely frustrated by this development as well as others who have tried to call. We've been told that our phones should be up and running this week! For the benefit of others who may read this review, the assessment by this reviewer is both inaccurate and is the opposite to how we conduct ourselves . The following is the reply Jessica received, which provided links not only to a wedding calendar with date availability but also to an appointment calendar. The email follows... "Dear Jessica, Thank you for your wedding enquiry. Please find attached our 2023 wedding package information. Please click here to view our live calendar and check our available wedding dates. Please note that all enquiries and bookings are subject to availability. If you would like to come in and tour our wonderful wedding venues - please follow this link to view our availability and book in a time to view the venue. If you can't find a time that suits, please contact us to see what we can do 😊. We look forward to hearing from you again soon! This was our first visit here, for a wedding. We stayed in a premier room while friends with families had lodges. Both levels of accommodation provided everything you would expect. Next visit we thought we might try the spa room, the one next to us also had a private fire pit. The buffet breakfast in the Rainforest Restaurant allowed me to severely overeat! Lunch from the kiosk was delicious as well.
