Visited the hotel this week on one of their winter offer deals. It has been a few years since our last visit but it is still as good as ever. We stayed in the Riverside wing with a balcony overlooking the beautiful river Tay. The room was very comfortable, clean and the over-bath shower was both powerful and hot. Our...

This traditional Scottish hotel exceeds in customer service with excellent food in a beautiful private park on the banks on the mighty river Tay. It's now feeling it's age a bit and could do with a complete makeover and the addition of a spa complex to provide the complete package. If you're into a traditional hotel experience with excellent people...

We had stayed here six months ago and been very impressed. This time we had a room in the Riverside Lodge, a modern purpose-built building about 200 meters from the main hotel. We had our own door with outside sitting area looking onto the River Tay (some first floor rooms have a balcony). All very acceptable, though the area around...

Can't fault our recent visit for Mother's Day. It was a glorious day outside and inside we were warmly met, served wonderfully and ate heartily. I have been for a few afternoon teas in my time, including the Ritz but this is hard to beat. Thanks to the staff who made it such a lovely visit.

We stayed on a gift voucher and treated ourselves to dinner which was well worth the £55/head charge. Our room was warm and comfortable although the TV was a bit temperamental however a member of staff arrived promptly to retune it with some success. There is a lovely bar for predinner drinks and the barman and other guests were friendly...

The hotel is set in a picture perfect location on the River Tay, old charming Scottish house although the rooms are not modern it really doesn't matter, infact if they were it would spoil the experience. The huge bonus at this hotel are the excellent staff and the absolutely outstanding food. We are Londoners and obviously have lots of restaurants...

My husband treated me to a Friday to Monday long weekend here and it was fabulous. The room was lovely, very comfortable bed and modern bathroom. We had dinner twice in the restaurant which is not cheap at £55 per head but both times the service and food could not be faulted. Room service was served with a smile and...

My wife took me to Ballathie as a 60th birthday treat and it was a really enjoyable stay. The grounds are lovely and the views are spectacular. The room we had was fine - it was not the one my wife had asked for - but it was comfortable enough. The 'Emperor' bed was very like sleeping on fresh air...

I purchased an overnight stay including breakfast, from Groupon, but it didn't turn out to be a cheap trip. Dinner was rather expensive at £55 per head, but I must say the service and food were excellent. Breakfast was good with the same excellent service and freshly prepared food. We were given a room within the main hotel, and although...
