Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great camp spot, just off the main road and very close to Port Arthur. I camped in a van but you can also camp in tents. The facilities ate probably the best i have found in Tasmania and would stay here again no problem.

A great spot for the whole family! Fantastic facilities; toilets, showers & massive camp kitchen / common room. Dam for swimming or fishing for trout (catch and release). Camp fire available at each site; depending upon restrictions. All in all great value for money!

Lou and Mick are great hosts and have a great campground . Top facilities and close to the beach and amenities of Carlton, the dam is loaded with trout and Mick keeps the firewood stocked up for the firepits while lou keeps everything else spot on. We had a fabulous time the two weeks we spent here and would definitely go back. Kids stay here free.👍

We stayed at this beautiful spot with the kids while attending a surf carnival nearby. What a gem! Gorgeous camp spot set around a small bay of water where many of the kids took pleasure in jumping in and splashing around. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere with a bonfire going both nights. The owners were great to deal with, warm and friendly both during the booking process and with our very late arrival. I would highly recommend this campspot to anyone wanting an easy, peaceful and spacious place to camp.

Wow what a fantastic little camp spot for our family of 5. Well stocked camp kitchen and well kept clean amenities block. The kids went fro Swimming, to kayaking to rowing a boat to catch and release fishing to whip cracking lessons with Jamie... our kids had a fantastic time. Mick and Lou this place is a credit to you guys, we will be back ☺️

My wife and I camped here for a couple of nights with our puppy dog and absolutely loved it. Great facilities at the camp site with beautiful grassy spots to pitch a tent. We loved our swim in the dam and think its great you can fish in it to, catch and release only! Fire wood was cheap and easy to get unlike some other places we've camped. Dodges Ferry and Carlton are only 5-7 minutes away along with glorious beaches, shops and a chemist if need be. Fully recommend this place for families, couples and people with dogs. Will be going back for sure and have already told our friends!
