We held our daughters christening here a couple of weeks ago making a last minute booking due to problems with another venue (everything defiantly happens for a reason) and were so lucky we managed to book this amazing venue at such short notice. Sharon was absolutely fantastic from making the initial enquiry to sorting bits the day prior and looking...

The whole family (including the dog) felt most welcome in this beautiful house. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely walks with the dog to see the sea cliffs. Friendly staff, clean rooms, the works! We would absolutely stay again.

We had our xmas do in here and it was a gorgeous setting. Felt cosy where the tables were and was a lovely atmosphere. The food which was served was delicious. We had a Michael Buble tribute act booked for the night and there was a dance floor next to where he was singing. Would highly recommend this for gatherings....

This is out of the way at the end of a long track. The rooms are well appointed and clean. There is no restaurant here which makes it a bit awkward. It seems to be geared towards wedding venue. Only myself and a work colleague stayed here and it was very quiet. Breakfast is a complimentary continental or £5 for...

Had a function to attend at the nearby golf club, where the room rate was quite expensive. The Arches offered great value room, really comfy bed and a nice breakfast. Staff were also very friendly. Would recommend and would stay again.

Stayed here for two nights when attending a wedding at the nearby Hunley golf club, which is about 5 minutes walk away. It’s a very attractive hotel, with a nice cottage-y feel, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. We paid extra to upgrade to a full breakfast, which I think was worth doing. They have a big car...

Came across the property by default. Just loved the ambiance and the surrounding...it's tucked away in a golf course. It's a pet friendly hotel with lots of place. The view of the golf course and the north sea leave you speechless... Great owner Chris. .very passionate of what he does. Will definitely go back...

Stayed here last night as a group of 5 (my brother was doing the full rally day). Chris & his team couldn't have been more friendly and helpful right from when we checked in 😊 the hotel is not "luxury modern" but is a very clean & comfortable, tastefully furnished in keeping with the character of the building. Ok, so...

Attended a family wedding here, the hotel was completely given over to us, from arriving to leaving everyone was made to feel very welcome by the lovely staff, nothing seemed to be a problem and we were all well looked after. The function rooms were well set out and looked very smart. The food - a carvery - was hot,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Arches Country House is an independent, family owned and run accommodation located not far from Saltburn in North Yorkshire. We pride ourselves on our relaxed and informal atmosphere. We attract a wide variety of guests, from businessmen looking for a comfortable stay, without the noise and impersonality of a large hotel chain, to ramblers exploring the Heritage Coast Trail and Cleveland Way Walks that passes our door. Victorian Seaside village of Saltburn is 3 miles away with the oldest remaining water-balance cliff lift in Britain and Pier. We are just 6 miles from Redcar Race Course, and 15 miles from Whitby and Heartbeat Country, some of the most spectacular views of the North Yorkshire coast line. The Arches is owned and run by the Birkbeck family. The main building was originally a working farm dating back to 1876. It was sympathetically converted into guest accommodation in 1998, retaining many original features including the line of old stage coach archways that give us our name. We are located just half a mile outside of Brotton, Adjacent to a golf club. Indeed many of our guests take the time to enjoy a game while staying with us. We have eleven twin, family and double rooms, all en-suite and with the option of a four poster bed. In 2006 we were awarded a four star rating by the English Tourist Board and a five star rating for health and hygiene. All our rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee facilities, flat screen TV and wireless internet. Our prices include a continental breakfast, or a full English breakfast can be ordered the evening before at a cost of £5.00 per head. Dogs are welcome in certain ground floor rooms and are charged at £10 per dog, per night. ANY DOGS MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE. ... more   less
