Nestled in the heart of the city, THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku draws guests with its modern, lively atmosphere, highlighted by a DJ-enhanced ambiance and on-site bakery. The rooms, while praised for cleanliness and equipment, are noted by some visitors to be on the smaller side and occasionally pose accessibility issues. Staff interactions receive mixed reviews, ranging from commendable helpfulness to instances of inattentiveness. THE KNOT's location is a high point, offering easy access to transport and local eateries, though opinions on value and the cost of amenities like breakfast show some dissent among patrons.

We stayed at The Knot for 5 nights and had a very good stay overall. The hotel is located in a leafy area opposite the lush Shinjuku Chuo park in contrast to what is otherwise a grey Tokyo. We found the hotel to be continently located from Shinjuku station (~14-16 mins walk) and some of the other main attractions (Tokyo Metropolitan building, Meiji Jingu shrine, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden) were a walkable for us as well. Local buses to Shibuya depart from the nearest bus stop which is very close to the hotel (Bus #51). Key departmental stores are very closeby and accessible.

The staff remain courteous and very helpful. Especially the front desk helmed by Hampl Alexandr who helped us quickly resolve an issue with temperature cooling we faced one night and also assisted in booking taxi transfers at the last moment on the day of our departure.

In our room, the temperature of the water in our shower taps were perfectly to our liking (just about enough hot). The cleaning staff does a wonderful job with changing the toiletries and towels on a regular basis.

What elevates the daily experience is the that the hotel lobby has a fantastic bakery (Morethan) which stocks high quality bakery products round the clock. Also the coffee available at the lobby area (served by the barista Prakash) was on point on the days we ordered.

My only minor grouse was the lack of storage place (wardrobe primarily) in what is a small living room. But I guess that is pretty much the room construct of the hotel rooms in Tokyo.

We hope to come back soon in future.

Hotel located 15 minutes walk from Shinjuku station, also reachable by buses that stop very close to the hotel, quiet area.
Decent sized rooms, clean and keyless, but with combination entrance. We had a low floor so we couldn't enjoy the view that you can certainly enjoy from the higher floors.
Reception with fairly simple procedure, friendly staff.
Breakfast with a wide choice of products including various fruit and vegetables, but don't be fooled by the photos of the desserts in the bakery, which is managed separately and for a fee. There are actually croissants on the breakfast buffet, but they arrive around 8.30/9.00 because they bake them later and so we were never able to use them by going out early (breakfast opens at 7.00 and we were there at that time). On the other hand, the cold cuts (raw ham, ham and mortadella) were delicious.
The bakery is on the ground floor near the entrance and in the morning it deceives with its sensational aromas because it is open space, but this also opens at 08.00 and therefore we only tried to buy the products one evening when we returned before closing (18.00), and they were delicious.
Overall it is a recommended hotel.

Whilst their were numerous positives to my stay at the Knot Shinjuu they were overshadowed by a rude waiter during the breakfast service. The only white waiter serving asked me to change tables to a section immediately outside the actual restaurant, to the cafe (just as the breakfast buffet had closed), I recognised that he was setting up for lunch but this is completely unacceptable, this is not a budget hotel and if a guest is still eating 5 minutes after the buffet closes then that is acceptable. The waiter could have easily worked around my 1 table and focused on setting up the 50 other tables.

Apart from this incident, the overall stay was very good, the breakfast itself was great with good quality ingredients used and some western options provided which is not always the case in Japan.

The room was small as all other rooms are in central Tokyo within this price range. The bar on the 1st level closed quiet early so i was unable to enjoy that. The bus outside the hotel takes you to Shibuya which is much easier alternative than navigating Shinjuku station. Their is a convenience store next door. It was nice to open the window and have some fresh air. Reception desk are friendly and helpful.

Lastly, the Tokyo Metropolitan Building is an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel. Catch the elevator up to the free observation deck as your first site to kick start your first day in Tokyo.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel presented as quality accommodation.
The room was tiny, no storage available except for hooks on the wall to hang clothes. Very little space between the beds and the wall to move around, especially since a mini table and two chairs obstruct the passage. There were 3 of us, there were only two chairs!
The reception - if you can call it reception - of this hotel is worse than a station hall.
Open to the public, people come and go in a deafening hubbub. As there is a bakery within the hotel, customers eat what they have purchased at a large, long table seated on benches, a table located before being able to access the receptionists' counter.
Breakfast is horribly expensive for what it is. The food is plentiful but of poor quality.
The butler who welcomed us to place us should take lessons in how to be and how to live.
In the name of sustainable development, the hotel only cleans the rooms from the 4th day. So no cleaning during our stay. On the other hand, they change the bath towels every day and provide you with packaged products...if it wasn't dismaying it would almost be funny.
Even the beds are not made. I went to reception to explain that making a bed is not cleaning, I had been told that the beds would be made, obviously that was never the case.
The reception staff are very rude and unhelpful, however they speak English which is a miracle in Japan.
This place is overrated for what it is, apart from its ideal location I see absolutely nothing positive. There are other hotels much cheaper and just as ideally located

Small roms and sadly rude staff at the breakfast/coffe bar, I can tell more but after having one egg from the chef I was not allowed a sandwich, and they asked me what coffe I wanted I said a cappuccino without telling me about the extra charge, and now when I tried to ask kindly if I’m still hungry can you just boil me an egg or fire up a sandwiches they try to explain to me in Japanese why and why not to. Just made me more less so I went out,

The coffee I had to go out to the other bar to get as-well.

Sorry no more then 2-3 star.

Welcome drink is water, non alcoholic and sparkle whine.

Very good hotel, the rooms are not too small, I had a triple room and there was enough space to open the suitcases. The toilette was confortable enough, you just need to remember the 15 cm steps when entering/exiting as it is re-elevated w.r.t. the room ground. What I also found nice was t presence of various restaurants in the building and, last but not least, a great bakery that we used to buy our breakfast.
The Shinjuku metro station is not too far, but you need to consider 10 minutes of fast walking or take the bus nearby the hotel entrance.

Read my previous review from my May stay, as everything seems about the same. Great fresh breakfasts with abundant choices if you purchase ahead, I believe less than if you purchase ahead when booking than if available to purchase that day. Also, the adjacent More Than Bakery (breakfast alternative or to buy a baked goodie to take along with you) and also the More Than Grill (for dinner) are still really good.

I flew in to Haneda this time, and took the limousine bus to one of the hotels nearby, from which was about a 5 minute walk to The Knot. If it is raining, expect to get wet if you are walking to Shinjuku Station although there are a couple bridges you walk under along the way. Nearby is a FamilyMart.

I mentioned wifi as not consistent in the room during my May stay, this time I had rented pocket Wifi at the airport so did not have any issues during this full Japan trip.

Hidden secret...at least for now...the hotel is very close to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observatory for fantastic free panoramic views of the city. A great way to start one of your days without paying and waiting at other city view locations. There may be a line for the elevators, but they are great at managing it quickly. Their google hours seemed to indicate as closed, but as you are walking Fureai-dori Ave in the direction, you will see one of the lobby entrances you can easily walk in and check for yourself. The building is a good nearby marker if you are unfamiliar with the area and google maps fails.

There is also a nice park across the street. I am not familiar with the nearby food choices other than The Grill, but again there is the FamilyMart (as like 711 it has simple fresh food available everyday) and I had easy walks to simpler restaurant choices elsewhere in Shinjuku.

Again, I stayed here at The Knot because I liked the quieter, "leafy" "skyscraper district" location and thought it was a good overall deal (especially with the breakfasts).

First, i will apologies for the staff who does his best..
It is a 3 stars hotel so don't be mistaken I don't consider it as a 5 stars hotel

I will try to be as factual as possible

The location is good not too far from metro stations and in front of the parc..

The front desk on arrival is friendly and helps you to use the check-in machine.

They inform you that the room will be done only every 3 days (in reality it is more than that, 4th day and still not done) you only receive some water, and they provide a new towel.

there are no laundry services, but 3 washing machines (which are always, always busy (300 yen per machine) and 3 dryers that require several runs to dry the clothes.. So the best thing to do is to take your clothes and wash it outside..

There is some good music in the lobby (way too loud if you want to work, don't even think of making a video call).

There is also a huge table that people use to work .. and eat their lunch from the bakeries leaving sometimes leftover food on the ground (especially when eating croissants).

Breakfast: The price is not the same if you book one day in advance (I realize that when I paid the bill, they apologies for the mistaken information).. The quality of the food is very good.. but unfortunately..

They have very few choices and quantities: don't expect to have a croissant after 8:30... (even if the staff really made an effort to find some for me after several requests.. )

only green tea and no black tea, this would have made sense if it was an Asian Breakfast ... but besides the curry no Asian breakfast..

In the end, it is way too expensive for what they offer..

Wifi: Bring your own Wi-Fi.. Wifi is good enough to read emails, not more..
The bar closes early and has only 6 seats. be careful..

I will stop here.
My feeling in this hotel everything is done to make more money..Which is their right. but I really don't like this feeling..

the good thing is the restaurant on the 2nd floor. is very good ..
it needs a reservation but it is worth it..

Location is key in Tokyo. The Knot is located in a quiet neighbourhood, although it is a short walk to the hub of Shinjuku and a 15-min walk to Shinjuku Station. The quiet park across the street from the hotel acts as a buffer to the Shinjuku’s hustle and bustle. It is also a few minutes’ walk to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. The hotel is busy with many guests hanging out and having dinner or drinks at the restaurant bar located in the hotel. The restaurant bar is definitely a gem for the hotel as the food is great, the drinks are fantastic, and the staff there are professional and knowledgeable. The rooms are clean with your basic amenities. The Knot has free wifi , and there is a breakfast option you can purchase when you check in. There are also lots of breakfast places in the area as well.

We have stayed in Shinjuku before and find this location a nice break from the crowds and pace of the city. We also like the proximity to shopping restaurants and all the Shinjuku has to offer.

We stayed at the Knot for one week.
We had booked a room with three single beds. We were surprised about the size of the room; after traveling the country the previous weeks we had seen much smaller rooms. Don't expect it to be huge, but we found it sufficent, even with 4 pieces of luggage.
The room was clean and had the usual amenities, bathrobe, slippers, coffee, small fridge, hairdryer,...
We also had breakfast included. The buffet had everything you need to start your day. It can be described as a continental breakfast. On sundays it seems to get busier than usual.
The staff at the hotel was always very friendly and helpful.
The bakery in the lobby always very busy. Their bread and other baked goods were also partly served at the hotel breakfast buffet and they were quite good.
Overall it's a nice hotel in Tokyo, especially if you prefer to stay in a more quite place. As the hotel is right across a park, the atmosphere isn't as busy as it gets at the city center.
A metro station (Tochomae) and the Shinjuku station are easy to reach on foot. When carrying luggage (especially in summer) I'd recommend taking a taxi from Shinjuku station, which costs around 750¥.
