The attention to detail was mind-blowing - from the perfectly pressed linens to the meticulously curated local art adNever have I experienced such attention to detail in hotel service. From the seamless check-in to the personalized recommendations for local spots, every moment was curated for comfort. The room's design struck that perfect balance between luxury and functionality, while the public spaces offered both energy and tranquility when needed. The evening turndown service with local treats was an especially nice touch.orning the walls. The concierge was a fountain of knowledge, guiding us to hidden gems we would have never discovered on our own. The rooftop bar offered craft cocktails that were works of art in themselves, cddock to give it a miss!

The concierge and department director, Sohee Kim were so welcoming, going above and beyond our expectations. The executive suite we were assigned was incredible! For our anniversary, we were surprised and delighted to receive a quality, expensive bottle of champagne that I'm familiar with during my travels to France. I would happily recommended the Peninsula to any one. The heat was so oppressive in July, we spent quite a bit of time in the hotel and ate many of our meals there. I didn't feel like we were losing out on touring the city, because the hotel was so luxurious and the restaurants, even the lobby restaurant are suburb The views from our suite were captivating. We are excited to return in 2025!

Great doormen and welcome staff. The only upsides to this hotel. Kohei who checked us in was cold and aloof. None of the other staff ever smiled. He fumbled on the computer for a long time before he could get back to us. This is dissappointing and no one showed us to our rooms. Almost all the guests were foreign so that explains why there was no omotenashi. We didn’t feel like we were in Japan. The lobby was also tiny and constantly filled with people.
The room was set on lowest temperture possible and it was extremely cold entering. It was freezing. I asked for a quiet room on a higher floor weeks in advance to which they replied yes. I was given neither a high-floor nor quiet room. It was on the tenth floor (total 23) and very close to the elevator. The soundproof was awful and outside noises are clearly heard.
The decor was tacky and tasteless in spite of it’s age. It also has not aged well. Bathroom was badly designed and sink was very small. The toilet reeked of urine. Towels, bathrobes and slippers are subpar. Beddings are just OK. There was no bluetooth anywhere and no kettle.
Room service spaghetti was also cold and stuck together. Very small portions. Food was obscenely overpriced and the service was amateur. A ¥4000 egg white “omelet” ended up being literally egg foams that tasted like absolutely nothing. Needless to say, I was baffled and more hungry after it. I ordered a side of bacon afterwards and there were like only four tiny pieces… Good god. Sashimi bowl for lunch was also measly and not very fresh.
In the end after my complaint, they did move us to a better room to which I am appreciative for. Their attitude and tone was also much improved. The room was quiter than the previous one, however, it does face the street and is on the eighth floor so sounds of cars can still be heard.

This is the first time I have stayed in a Peninsula Hotel. I'm assuming that the service provided from Peninsula's is always top notch. We found the Japanese culture to one of top notch service. So, the combo of Japanese culture and Peninsula reputation is one that just works.
As soon as you pull up to the hotel there are 3-4 employees outside waiting to escort you into the hotel. The check in process is quick and the employees escort you to your room and show you the amenities of the room.
The room amenities are great! You feel like you are in discovery mode for the first few hours of being in the room.
The real draw is the bathroom. The shower is one you feel like you could stay in for hours. The bathtub seems to call out to you asking for a demo. The toilet is very traditional of Japanese culture by providing all sorts of options for comfort and cleaning. We wanted to bring the whole bathroom home with us.
The pool is an experience everyone needs to experience at this hotel. It's refreshing and relaxing. It makes for a great close to the day.
I only found 3 drawbacks to this hotel. One, the hotel rooms seem a little dated. Everything works just fine. It just needs some refurbishment. Two, I was never able to get the temperature to regulate in the room as easily as your average hotel room. I would get cold easily and then it would get too hot. It just didn't seem work like normal HVAC. Three, I unfortunately got sick on this trip and had to spend a lot of time in the bed. The bed is not comfortable for a 5 star hotel. The bed was my biggest disappointment.
If given the opportunity again, I would stay at this hotel again. It has good food, great location, and awesome service. I would recommend staying here.

Peninsula is a known brand in the luxury hotel business. In Tokyo, there are plenty of competitions. What made this hotel stand out for me was the service. The room was probably the largest I have ever stayed in Japan. Having the control panel for lights, curtains, and T.V. on both nightstands were very convenient. As some have commented, the temperature control was a little strange as it didn't have a temperature number to select, but we were fine with the choices. One could reasonably stay at this hotel for a long time considering how large the walk-in closet/make up area was. The bathroom was well lighted and roomy. The only negative was that the shower stall was small. They had live music at the lobby cafe at select times. As noted by others, the access to the subway underground helped one avoid the sun or the rain. The hotel is located within 5 mins walk to the JR Yurakucho station and Hibiya Station and a 10 mins walk to Ginza Station. There is no airport limousine bus to this hotel, so I suspect the best way to go to the hotel from Narita is to take the train to Tokyo Station then transfer to a taxi. However, check with the hotel. We came from Haneda Airport via taxi and it was around 7000-8000 yen. Tokyo Station is much closer, so I suspect it would be around 1000-2000 yen. We had room service one morning and the cost was the same as bringing ourselves down to the lobby cafe. This in-room dining suggestion was offered by the young man who checked us in. We chose the in-room Chinese breakfast. Eating it while overlooking the Imperial Palace was memorable. The breakfast was exceptional, but very expensive relatively. We also dined upstairs at Peter for dinner one night. The food was wonderful and service exceptional. The price was reasonable in view of service, location and quality. This is a hotel that you can spend a lot of time in and not feel wasted. As we were leaving for Haneda, the female Japanese manager noted that we were leaving. She got the staff to load our luggage into a taxi while we processed our checked out. We were able to make one seamless trip from the reception to the taxi. That's the attention to details that made us take note that this was the best hotel that we have ever stayed at in Japan on our many trips here.

I stayed four nights at the Peninsula Tokyo in August 2023. Pros: very large (especially for Tokyo), quiet, comfortable room with a separate dressing room and a large modern bathroom with two separate vanities, a beautiful huge soaking tub, a walk-in shower, and a modern toilet. The room included two twin beds and a full-size sleeper sofa. A family of four could easily use the room if two are willing to sleep on the sleeper sofa, making it more economically feasible for families. The large bathroom and dressing room provide ample space to spread out. The room was meticulously cleaned and refreshed daily. Cons: the restaurants are expensive but crowded. A simple breakfast of yogurt, toast, orange juice, and coffee is about U.S. $40. It's easy to go across the street to a Seven Eleven for much less expensive food. Also, I made my reservation through hotels dot com. My friend made a reservation directly with the Peninsula. Rooms were identical and on the same floor. At checkout, my friend's request for an extension of checkout time was granted. My identical request was refused.

Wonderful property. The rooms are very comfortable and decorated with impeccable taste. The building is older but is in optimal condition due to rigorous maintenance. The service is exceptional. All staff you interact with during your stay are highly trained and focused on the guest and their comfort. The buffet breakfast can be eaten in the restaurant or ordered from room service the night before and is included. Even one day when we took the train very early, they prepared a meal box for us on the way. Unexpected details like housekeeping leaving origami :)

Stayed here with my family in August 2024. Overall, this is a terrific hotel with all of the excellent service and amenities one expects from a luxury property. The concierge team was expecially helpful in organizing my restaurants for our stay - both in terms of making bookings and (gently) steering of clear of places they thought were mistakes. I appreciated their candor in letting us know places they thought we would like vs. those they thought might not be so great for our needs.
Hotel location is in Ginza which probably is not where I would select if I went back. That said, the hotel is over one metro station (you can get there without going outside if you want) and less than a five minute walk from a couple of others. So while the location wasn't my favorite (as a tourist) it also wasn't an issue given how accessible it was to transit.
Last, and certainly not least, the rooms are beautiful, very large, with amazing bathrooms. In a city that can often feel a little crowded, it was really a pleasure to return to the room.

If you're going to Tokyo to explore, book at the peninsula since location wise it's on top of a subway station, and already near a major shopping district.
If you're going to Tokyo to relax, and spend more time in the hotel, go with MO. It definitely is more modern, and new. But location wise, it's a little far from places people tend to explore. Their sushi restaurant 'Sora Sushi' is really good for its price too.
I think the tattoos are more of an issue when you go to the hot springs. The hotel pools such as at Peninsula should be ok. Maybe ask the hotel at check-in and see what they say.
There are more places to choose from in the Yurakucho area.
