The hotel location is very easy to find from Kansai Airport just take Nankai Limited Express train and alight at Tengachaya station then transfer to Sakaisuji Line for a two minutes walk, take the train going to Nagahoribashi station and alight there. Hotel is 79 meters away from that station or a two minutes walk.Room is clean & tidy and highly remmended to avail their breakfast. There are varieties of food menu being offered on daily basis. We will come back again in our future stay in Osaka.

Ark Hotels are a chain of hotels in Japan and you can find one in each major city. We stayed in the Osaka hotel which is located near Shinsaibashi and Namba. It was at Nagahoribashi station (next to Shinsibashi) right outside of exit 4. Our twin room was quite big and had a good view. The windows opened which made me glad since the room was slightly smokey smelling. We found the location good for places that we could just walk to rather than taking the subway. Although near a busy area for nightlife, the hotel was pretty quiet at night. Not one of the cheaper hotels in Osaka, our twin room was worth it for 11,100 yen a night. We didn't use the restaurant since the menu looked pricey, but there are numerous restaurants and bakeries nearby. There's an extensive underground shopping area and covered arcade nearby for rainy days. An overall good travelling experience for us.

Stayed there for one night. No early check in as front desk insisted on checking everyone from 3pm onward. Not even pre-register passport info etc...

The hotel is little bit dated but at least you get a decent size room. I paid about USD 100 for the night so can't complain too much.

Walking time to Shinsaibashi shopping area is about 10 minutes. Subway entrance is next to the hotel so it is convenient.

Good value if you are not fussy about things

1 decent hotel away from the busy and noisy Shinsaibashi yet price is ideal. Wanted a hotel away from noisy Shinsaibashi and came upon this hotel. Price is much more decent and only 1 min walk from the metro. 1 station away from Shinsaibashi, few stations away from Namba and Osaka. Room is good enough for single traveller like me, comes with mini fridge which is good for beers, toiletries available in room such as shampoo and body shower, humidifier too and best part is it comes with USB and type C charging near the bedside. Opposite the hotel is a liquor shop, convenient store few mins walk and some decent budget restaurants around the hotel.

After reading some of the reviews written by others about this hotel, I have to conclude that the negative comments are a bit ridiculous. This is a wonderful hotel to stay at, and I would definitely stay again. Of course, the rooms are going to be smaller than ones in Western countries (I'm from Australia), but this is Japan! Smaller country + more people = smaller rooms. We stayed in a Double Room, and for my partner and I it was just fine. The bed is great, and the pillows are comfortable. The bathroom is nice and spacious for a small room, and there's space for 2 chairs, the vanity/desk, tv, and coffee table. We easily fit a huge duffle bag and big suitcase in the room. The service here is wonderful! Room clean is at 12pm, and they ring if you haven't left by 12 to make sure you want your room done. If you say no, go out, and come back, by the time you get back from afternoon tea/dinner, there's a plastic bag hanging on your door with new towels, hand towels, toothbrushes, razors, and yukatas. That's great service in my opinion. No hassle with re-suing towels, and hunting down toiletries at the lobby. There's even a nice little bedside lamp for late night reading. There happens to be no wifi in the rooms, but if you've got your laptop with you, just plug the LAN cable right in and you're ready to go! The internet connection is great - we Skyped with a family member and the call didn't drop out once!
Definitely book this hotel!

First off, we are just back from a one month trip across Japan, and we stayed in several hotels but also different styles (from guest house to ryokan, small rest hotel to colossal 25 floors premise).

This is the ONLY hotel that we were disappointed with and cannot recommand for the following reasons:
-clealiness of the room (walls were dirty, bed cover was stained).
-bed was super hard and of poor quality (could feel the matress' springs.. even though we are far from being heavy weighted).
-obviously was previously a smoking allowed room: the bad odor was remaining.

We could have "lived" with these inconveniences but unfortunately the worst part was regarding the poor assistance we received. Everywhere else in Japan, tremedous politeness and outstanding customer service were the guidelines; for instance at the front desk we had a very hard time communicating in english for the check-in. Our mother tongue is french and we also make mistakes when it comes to english, but we think it is normal to expect they know the basics.. or at least just a few key words in order to welcome the guests or provide information in writing like we had in other places. So we were not expecting fully bilingual personnel but their language skill was way underneath par.

Furthermore, regarding the attitude towards us, this is also the only hotel where we felt not welcome as guests. We had to deal with a few members of the staff and were under the strong impression that we bothered them with our questions.

As for the good points, it's located next to the electric neighbourgs Nipponbashi//Den Den Town where the nightlife of Osaka is at it's best: lots of restaurants and bars as well as shopping arcade streets. The subway station is +/-70m from the premise, making it easy to explore the rest of the city.

All in all, it didn't really worth the money and we prefered the other hotels we stayed in during the few days we spent in Osaka. Look somewhere else there is plenty of other 3 stars hotels around this area !

This is the last hotel we stayed in our recent 12 days trip. The hotel location is strategic and is right next on your left when you come out from nagahori subway station exit 4. If you have lots of baggages and not convenient to shift your luggages through the staircase, you could use the carpark access lift. Once come out from the lift, you can see Yoshinoya restaurant on your left. The hotel is right behind this restaurant. We stayed at 8 floor at sometimes we could smell of curry smell from our room and we suspect it was from this restaurant or another restaurant next to it.

The hotel has no wifi connection at all in either lobby or room but it provides high speed Lan access. If u have the travel router, it helps.

Though it is a 3 stars hotel that I shouldn't expect too much . The basic thing for a hotel should be clean and tidy . The room wasn't clean, the wall was dirty.

Besides, we booked a semi triple room at this hotel which shows a three single beds on the website . When I checked in , they originally gave me a room with one double bed and one sigle beds. We then request for a change, we changed to a 3 single beds room. The hotel is not convenient and so small. The room is full of smoky smell. No wifi everywhere in the hotel , only a very slow computer at the lobby . If you go to Osaka, I won't recomment you to stay in this hotel though the price is a little lower. You will save more time and have a better experience if you pay just a little more .

We'd stayed a night in Osaka previously, and had learnt the hard way that Japanese hotel rooms are mostly shoeboxes, so this time I researched room sizes before booking. I chose the Ark Hotel because for a reasonable price we could enjoy 3 nights in an 18sqm double room. It paid off - we had room on the floor up the end of the room where we could access our luggage.

It was a fantastic and convenient location (exit #4 from Nagahoribashi is next door) for sightseeing, and the staff were helpful.

My only issues were that our bed was firmer than we like, and cigarette smoke wafted through the vents from adjoining rooms.

One of the cheaper hotels I booked in Japan. Location is superb, close to everything: shops, restaurants, stations, etc. If location and price are your top priorities, this won’t disappoint.

Not a very fussy guest here, but there are a few things I didn’t love about the place: First of all you have to leave the key, an actual key, at the front desk every time you go out. The room was also extremely small, even for a petite guest like me (taking a shower was a claustrophobic experience).

Everything else was okay, though.
