Plenty of restaurants although not in thousands available within 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
Room size is adequate, can handle two 29 inches suitcase. Front desk staffs friendly and efficient.
A good choice unless you want to stay in the center of shopping and entertainment areas

They had a smoking room, and Daiwa Roynet hotels are clean and reliable, so I was right to choose them.
There was nothing wrong with the hotel or the room, but I did have some trouble finding it, as it was only a one-minute walk from Exit 6 of Kitahama Station. When I arrived at Kitahama Station and tried to find Exit 6, it was so far away...
Even though it's connected underground, it still felt like quite a walk.
Also, when I got above ground, I couldn't find the hotel entrance at all (the sign was not very noticeable) and ended up walking around the entire area.
I was glad I had time, though...
You'll understand if you go there once, but I'm sure people staying there for the first time will have the same experience.

The staff here is also always kind and friendly, unfortunately most of the staff do not speak English (a bit strange in the center of Osaka and in a business hotel). Fortunately, I speak Japanese and the small inconveniences were resolved quickly.
I had already tested other Daiwas over the years in Tokyo and Kyoto and they were on another level. Unfortunately the rooms in this one are spacious but not modern nor particularly clean by Japanese standards. Considering the much higher price compared to all the hotels I have been to in Japan over the years, I draw my conclusions by giving it a 2.
My advice would be: remove the old carpet and fix the bathrooms (I had a superior room so the large bathroom you find in the online photos)

Next to Kitahama station. Very convenient.
Some shops and restaurants nearby for meals. Quiet area.
Room is clean, well organised and beds were comfy.
Bathroom is the typical bath tub with open shower room, amazing toilets and ‘free’ toiletries available to take from the lobby.
Wifi was fast. Staff were polite and helpful.
Breakfast was small was a wide enough choice.
Cons
None really. Couldn’t find any recycling bins.
1) RIGHT NEXT TO THE SUBWAY (Kitahama station). Very convenient to head to KIX airport (just 1 transfer and 1hr away). This station is also just 1-2 stops away from the famous DOTONBURI and NAMBA street markets which you must go to explore.
2) Shower water pressure is HEAVENLY. So strong. So hot. So much water coming out.... perfect to massage away the tiredness of walking.
3) WiFI is super duper fast, with no nonsensical logins required. Just connect and that's it!
4) Hotel staff are friendly and most speak English.
5) Humidifier and hot water kettle provided, yaay.
Downsides: the bed is hard (japanese style) and the pillows are hard too. Don't like them.
Would be good if the hotel gave complimentary water bottles as well.
Unclear for first timers, where the lobby is (goto 3rd floor). But all lifts automatically stop at 3rd floor anyway, regardless of what floor you're going to (annoying after awhile) so you can't miss it.
Remember to take EXIT 6 from kitahama station. that takes you right to the hotel which is to your immediate left.
Pros:
- Infrastructure: This is a new hotel by the Daiwa House Group. The property is very modern, clean and new. Room is a bit bigger than the average Japanese hotel room size. We didn't feel cramped with our 2 big suitcases and lots of shopping. We stayed on the 9th floor and throughout our stay we didn't hear noise from outside. It was a very comfortable stay.
- Superb housekkeeping: This has to be one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed at. I would give housekeeping 10/10. .
- Location: This hotel is located in The Kitahama area, which is a 10 minute train ride to the Shinsaibashi/Nanba/Nippombashi shoppning district (or a 20 minute walk.); a 40 min train ride to Kyoto and 35 min ride to Universal Studios.
- Famous eateries nearby: At first glance, the hotel seems to be in a business district, but one could soon realize it is surrounded by an array of famous Japanese restaurants.
i. Gokan cake shop. a 2 minute walk to the left of the main entrance of the hotel. The main store of Gokan cake shop is sooo near and they serve the prettiest, most delicious fruit cakes ever! Try the ones with melon as they are in season now. SOO GOOD. We went there 4 times during our 8-day stay in Osaka.
ii. Torikizoku (焼き鳥なら『鳥貴族』) - a Japanese kebbab chain. 15 second walk to the right of the main entrance of hotel. This restaursns serves kebbabs and alcoholic drinks all at the price of 280yen each. amazing.
iii. Shibato - a 140-year old unagi don shop. it's a 10 minute walk from the hotel and offers the most delicious unagi don in osaka. Eng menu: www.shibato.net/en_ryori.html
iv. Sekaino Yamachan - a restaurant famous for its chicken wings, 10 min walk from hotel. this is a chain from Nagoya and has shops all over Japan. We went there twice during our stay. awesome wings.
- Supermarket/convenience stores: Right across the street from the hotel is Kitahama Plaza, and at the basement of it is a supermarket. Kitahama Plaza is surrounded by 3 convenience stores as well.
Anyhow, other than the bad sleep and wake up call straight at 11 AM, the rest will be ok. Nothing in the small refrigerator (nothing, not even water to drink at 3 AM upon arrival) and dont even think to eat. Bring some chocolate in the bag so that you have something to keep you sweet upon arrival.
Than you are probably asking why I am giving 3 stars. Well, because the bathroom is a little plastic box that they put in the room. The shower is small but nice, and the toilet bowl seems like you are in one of the nasa spaceshipps so much there is for you to play with it. So, 3 stars for that as it was fun to play with it.
I have to stop writing now as my back hurts!
But it is low price, so good cost benefit. Ah, and wifi is free and works fine!

The staff was quite efficient. The rooms were nicely decorated with very comfortable beds & pillows. The wifi was super fast as we researched Osaka and surrounding region. The bathroom was large with plush robes and oversized towels.
Each morning we ate at the hotel restaurant which was buffet style with a delicious combination of western and Japanese food and drink. Very comfortable setting and never missing any items at the buffet.
The location can't be beat for those who are sightseeing the heart of Osaka and beyond. Daiwa Roynet Hotel Osaka Kitahama is connected to the Kitahama, Sakaisuji Line, subway station. It was so easy getting everywhere on our itinerary. There are plenty of great places to eat within walking distance. Most cheap to very cheap and some higher end restaurants.
Take a look at our photos of the hotel, you can't do much better unless you pay a whole lot more. Why would you?
