Value
Room size, service and price. Please compare. You should definitely choose this hotel. The room is over 31 square meters. In Osaka city, most rooms are in the size of suite class. If you experience the size, service and price of the Hotel Alps, you will definitely be a repeater. The location of the hotel is also great. There is no need to transfer to Kansai International Airport, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe or Nagoya. It is also close to Shinsaibashi, which is the best location in Osaka. The front desk is open 24 hours. Some staff speak English, Chinese and Korean. I'm looking forward to seeing you.

This hotel’s location was perfect for us. Located near excellent food stalls. Walking distance to the public transportation. We book a family room and it was spacious for the 2 of us. They offer breakfast. The amenities our excellent. The bathroom is gorgeous and is impressive.

I recently hunted for a couple of nights' accommodation in Osaka while transiting between Tokyo and Kyoto and found this interesting hotel in the very centre of Namba. Hotel Alps is very conveniently located five minutes walk from Namba station along a covered shopping street, and about 20 minutes from Shin-Osaka station on the Midosuji subway line.
It's delightfully retro in its decor with a distinctly Moroccan theme to its entrance and front desk area, while the rooms are the largest I have seen at this mid-range pricepoint. I normally base my room searches on price and room size - the Japansese are very good at publishing the floor areas of their hotel rooms. The average would be between 12 and 20 square metres, so I was astounded to see the Alps boasting rooms up to 44 square meters. I booked two nights and was amused to see among its reviews that it has a reputation of being a 'love hotel', a place where amorous couples can spend a few hours together away from the cramped spaces of their family homes.
The room was indeed massive, largest I have ever seen in sixteen visits to Japan, with a very comfortable king-sized bed, a big jacuzzi, separate Japanese-style shower, separate toilet, small (empty) fridge, plus a minibar fridge, snack dispenser (at least, that's what I think it was...), USB-enabled audio system, red spotlight in the ceiling (?), a flat-screen TV the size of Belgium, a microwave, a paper note change machine and a huge range of lotions, potions, eye masks and assorted freebie products that mostly remained mysterious because nothing was packaged English, and I wasn't game to open everything!
The (Filipina) receptionist kept giving my wife and I a bit of a suggestive wink every time we picked up our keys to go to the room.
Breakfast layout was arranged in the hotel bar area - I suspect because, till the hotel started taking in tourists for the whole night, clients were mostly not there for breakfast (my supposition). Food selection was OK - we ate mostly Japanese (fish, miso, egg and rice). We also received a free drink (a glass of beer or wine) which was also a first for me.
Overall this was a great place to spend a couple of nights while providing a centrally-located base for shopping, restaurants, and transport to all the major tourist spots in this city.

Highlights of the Hotel Alps

Distance from the Airport: This hotel is situated a bit far from the airport, it takes about 45min-50min if you take the Nankai Airport Express the cost is 920 Japanese Yen (¥). However, the alternative is Nankai Rpt:t which just takes about 10 min shorter than Nankai but the cost is ¥1340.

Location: The location is perfect, as it is just about 5-10min walk to/from Namba station, so, travelling around Osaka should not be that big of a problem, also because the stations are named in English as well as they have numbers eg: for Namba station it is N20. There are also may varieties of restaurants nearby, so, having meals should not be a problem. Furthermore, it is also close to Dotonbuti (Just about 10 min walk from the hotel). Also other railway lines such as JR is also close by (Easier to use JR to go to universal studio H45 I think).

Staff: The staffs were really kind and polite and they do speak English so, it was easier for us.

Room: The room is very spacious, and it has lot of great facilities in it such as large bed, tv, ac, massage chair (limited time 15 min but you can use it many times, no foot massage), jacuzzi, fridge, microwave, and other facilities.

Cleanliness: The hotel is very clean, and the room is also clean.

WiFi: They have free WiFi and the internet is fast.

Noise: The room is sound proof because I have not heard anything from outside nor from the other rooms throughout my stay in the hotel.

SPA: As mentioned earlier they did have massage chair for this room, although I think they also provide massage service in the room itself, I am not sure about this because I have not tried and when I saw it on the information near the bed it said the cost ranges from ¥5k to ¥10k. So, I felt it’s not worth it. Why spend the money when you have free massage chair for unlimited time without any additional charge. The only downside is in the massage chair the remote controller’s written language is in Japanese.

Meal: The breakfast is delicious (opening time 7am to 10am), we have had breakfast in the hotel for 5 days and it is very convenient to have it in the hotel as most of the restaurants won’t be open till 11 or 12. However, for lunch and dinner I can’t say anything as there are plenty of options nearby so we also ate outside the hotel.

Room service: They do have room service here in the hotel. But I am not sure what is the price range or how the room service facility is.

Overall: I really love this hotel and if possible, in future I decide to travel in Osaka I would love to choose this hotel. Thank you for such a wonderful hospitality.

Location is strategic. Closed to restaurants and shopping area.
Hotel room is huge, with big bathroom, a massage chair, coffee maker, a toaster and sofa set.
But we decided to move out earlier after realizing there is no laundromat in the hotel.

We stayed here for 5 nights. It was a pleasant stay. Very close to Namba Station. Exit from E5 and walk down the sheltered food street . About 50 meters after food street is Hotel Alps. Loads of free toiletries you can help yourself to at lobby area. Breakfast was more that adequate. The rooms are huge. We have plenty of walking space after opening up our 25" 28" and 32" inches luggages. We are family of 3 paxs with teenage daughter. There were also a few families with younger children. From our 5 days stay our observation was mostly tourist from UK , HK, China, SG or MY. What is lacking is proper wardrobe for clothing. All clothing has to be hung on the wall. Overall a great stay at reasonable price in central location. BTW before we could request for late check out they gave us 2pm check out which was more than enough for us.

TIP:
To get to the hotel,
- if you are coming from Midosuji line, take exit 4 or 5
- if you are coming from Nankai Namba station, take the North Exit
- Regardless if you exit from exit 4 or 5 or Nankai line North Exit, as soon as you are out, face to your right where you will see 'Starbucks' and La Poppo Farm Cafe. The road to Hotel Alps is the road between Starbucks and La Poppo Farm Cafe. It is 5 to 7 minute walk from the any of the exits I mentioned.

I agree with all the good reviews about this hotel in TripAdvisor.
- the room is quite spacious
- Jacuzzi in the bathroom
- plenty of toilet amenities
- plenty of restaurants around the area
- walking distance to Dotonburi

Breakfast was good.

On arrival, I was given a ticket for complimentary welcome drinks at their cafe but it can only be used between 11:00am and 10:00pm. However, the cafe is only open for breakfast until 10:00am so the ticket for welcome drink is useless. The hotel should stop giving out the useless ticket.

Also, you need to leave the access card at reception everytime you go out and ask for it back when you come back. This could be a security issue because anyone can ask for your key without them verifying the identity of the person. Once, I asked for the wrong room number by mistake and was given the access card for the wrong room. I then asked for my correct room number.

This Hotel has everything you need - clean, comfy bed and so centrally located.
We were a little worried as the reviews were saying it was a love hotel but we never saw anything bad and the room was the biggest we stayed in while travelling Japan.
The breakfast was the only thing that was a little disappointing but you won’t wake up hungry anyway staying so close to some of the best restaurants i’ve had ver eaten in.

I came with low expectations because of the low price and location. I was so wrong this hotel is very very good. Massive rooms, spotlessly clean, every free amenity you can think of, a welcome drink in the bar, breakfast included and very high standards of English spoken. If you want to be in the Centre of Nanba and Osaka’s entertainment district look no further than this hotel.

Rooms are large. Larger than the average hotels rooms in Japan. Our room had a massage chair which was cool.

Technology is used everywhere in the hotel. Free on demand movies on TV.

In the lobby there were free amenities which can take to your room (face mask, massage oil, etc).

Hotel location is good for people want to stay in the shopping area.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

Do you I recommend the hotel? Yes if you want to stay somewhere central.

On the negative side, the breakfast was poor. I would recommend booking the hotel without breakfast.

First things first, you cant beat the location. It is as good as it gets, really. Metro station is a 3 mins walk away, surrounded with food. Shopping at every corner, even walking to Orange street and Americamura is a breeze. But this is a ADULT hotel. I enjoyed my stay there, but if you have kids with you, you may want to give it a miss. Huge and clean room, big bathroom, had a sofa, coffee table and a massage chaair. So u can imagine that space that you get, unlike mist small hotel rooms in japan. I had space to fully open 2 of my luggages and these were they big ones. If you are going as a couple or with friends...go for it. But if you have kids, you may want to think twice. I gave it an average rating just for this reason. Its not a sleazy place and relatively well kept, but its still an adult love hotel. Also, booked a luggage service to send all my luggage to the airport, it was money well spent. Had a leisurely travel to the airport.
