The expansive beachfront of The Sakala Resort Bali in the peninsula of Tanjung Benoa draws visitors for its tranquillity and watersports activities. Once a fishing village, Tanjung Benoa retains the timeless relaxation of Balinese life whilst boasting several local and international restaurants nearby. It's less than 30-minutes drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport (we can provide transfer) and well-connected to the rest of Bali via the Mandira Toll Road, making it an excellent base to explore other areas. In addition to our beach side more suitable for aquatic activities, we have a second beach venue suitable for swimming (Samuh Beach House) at 7-minutes away serviced by our scheduled shuttle. The Sakala Resort Bali consists of 247 very large suites (starting 62m2) and 14 two-bedroom private pool villas of 300m2. The resort provides all the 5-star facilities that discerning travellers nowadays expect, such as large swimming pools (an infinity pool overlooking the ocean and a massive 120 meters long lagoon pool), restaurant & bars, a luxury spa, a fully-fledged fitness centre, and a Kids Club. The resort enhances the guests' experience with world-class hospitality, spotless cleanliness, striking architecture and extensive recreational facilities.

We had a very comfortable stay at The Sakala Resort. Our Pool-Access Suite was exactly that with access to the pool direct from our small sunny deck. The pool was bright and clean, the suite was very generous. Our teenage daughter was literally squealing with excitement on opening the door of the suite, while our 89yo relative in the next suite also wanted to stay longer. The bedroom was large and the Kingsize bed was in good condition, the bathroom had a separate bath, large enclosed shower, large enclosed toilet.
The breakfast buffet was spread across 3 rooms, with multiple chefs catering to multiple nationalities, and even multiple baristas. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
The gym is also spread across 3 levels, offering ample equipment for anyone trying to maintain their routine while they're away, but stops short of having weightlifting equipment.
The location appears to be away from "the currently trending areas" of Canggu but we definitely found that wasn't an issue, and actually found it more suitable for us.
In fairness, the blue roofs at the left in the foto is actually Bayu Suta Watersports, 1 of the larger watersports companies in the area, and while this would make you think there would be a lot of neighbour impact with buses and bike traffic, we honestly didn't even realise it was there until we went there ourselves and realised how conveniently placed it was, and The Sakala Resort has a small private beach available nearby for people that want a more quiet beach to relax.

Hey Keith! Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! 😊 We're thrilled to hear that you had a pleasantly relaxing stay at The Sakala Resort Bali. It's fantastic to know that your Pool-Access Suite provided direct access to the bright and clean pool, making it a hit for both your teenage daughter and your senior relative. We're delighted they both enjoyed their stay and wanted to stay longer. It’s great to hear that you found the suite generous, with a large bedroom and a comfortable 220cm Kingsize bed, and that the bathroom facilities met your expectations with a separate bath, large enclosed shower, and toilet. Our breakfast buffet spread across three rooms, with multiple chefs and baristas catering to various nationalities, aims to provide a diverse and satisfying start to your day. We’re glad you enjoyed it and found our staff friendly and accommodating. We appreciate your feedback on our gym facilities spread across three levels. While we aim to provide ample equipment for maintaining routines, we acknowledge that weightlifting equipment would be a valuable addition. It's wonderful to hear that you found our location away from the hustle and bustle of Canggu more suitable for your needs. Nowadays, some areas of Bali have become insanely crowded that we are actually glad to be a bit away from all of that. Our small private beach offers a quiet retreat, and we're pleased you appreciated this option for relaxation. Thank you once again for your kind words. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back for another comfortable and relaxing stay. Warm regards, The Sakala Resort Bali

Sakala Resort Review

We stayed at this resort for five days—not my pick, by the way. It was part of a tour organized by some Australian friends of ours, and we ended up meeting several families, including some from Romania (we are also Romanians/Australians)

First of all, let me say, we come to Bali quite often since we live in Australia.

The hotel is located on the edge of Nusa Dua, about half an hour from the airport, on the eastern side of the island. It’s near the tip of the peninsula, and to get to the beach, you need to cross a fairly busy road. But here’s the kicker—they have staff who literally stop traffic every time you cross. Talk about VIP treatment!

Once you check in and step inside the hotel, you’ll feel like you’ve entered a magical vacation bubble where every wish you have is somehow already on their to-do list.

The rooms are spacious—like “where’s my other shoe” spacious—and packed with all the bells and whistles. They have everything: a long swimming pool with direct access from some rooms, and a Beach Club with a private pool right in front of the beach. Fancy, right?

The food? Oh, it was fantastic. The breakfast buffet had two sections: one for traditional Balinese or Indonesian dishes (for the adventurous types) and another for the usual international stuff. Plenty of options, and everything was fresh and delicious.

But the real MVP here is the staff. From the receptionists to the housekeepers, chefs, and waiters, everyone is laser-focused on making your stay perfect. They learned our names on day one, and by day two, we felt like we were visiting long-lost friends.

This review is straight from the heart, written in one breath because, honestly, the experience was that good.

If you’re reading this and still haven’t decided where to stay in Bali, let me make it simple: if you want five-star luxury without breaking the bank, give Sakala a try. You won’t regret it.

Special shoutout to the manager, Demmy. This guy is a machine—there from morning to night, making sure everything runs like clockwork. He makes you feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.

Thank you, Sakala, for an unforgettable vacation. We’ll be back!

Dear Lawrence, Wow, what an incredible review—thank you for sharing your experience with such energy and heart! 😊 It’s an absolute joy to read how much you enjoyed your time at The Sakala Resort Bali, and we’re thrilled that we could deliver a “kingly” experience. 👑 From your “where’s my other shoe” spacious room (love that!) to our pools, Beach Club, and traffic-stopping VIP service (quite literally 😉), it sounds like you soaked up every bit of magic we aim to create here. 🌴 We’re especially delighted that you appreciated the breakfast buffet—whether you’re in the mood for adventurous Balinese flavors or classic international dishes, we’re so happy it hit the spot. 🍳🥐 Your kind words about our team truly mean the world. We believe genuine hospitality makes all the difference, and to hear that we made you feel like family by day two is the ultimate compliment! 💕 A special shoutout right back to Demmy—he’s a superstar, and we’re lucky to have him leading the charge. Thank you again for such a heartfelt and entertaining review. We’ll be ready to welcome you and your friends back anytime—you’ve got a home here at The Sakala Resort Bali. A wonderful hotel 🏨 for your money, area, location, large two-room suite, bathroom, kitchen, utensils, dishes upon request, they will bring everything, everything justifies the price and expectations. Large loggia, beautiful view of the territory and pool. This hotel has a wonderful variety of delicious breakfasts, soups, fresh juices, a variety of fruits, chocolate. Very responsive and friendly staff. Every morning at breakfast they always ask if you are satisfied with everything in the room, the service, a special big thank you to Mr. Demmi, with all his heart he cares for the hotel and your comfortable stay in this hotel, and also quickly resolves any issues that arise. The hotel has two large swimming pools with a bar, a restaurant, and a second swimming pool as a beach club overlooking the ocean. Cool music, drinks, food, ocean view. There is a beach, but the boats there are not very convenient for swimming in the ocean, but a shuttle runs several times a day to a good beach, where there is also an excellent beach club with drinks, food, music and hookah. Also takes it back. And they also take you to the shopping center from the hotel every day. Wonderful hotel, wonderful holiday, I will definitely come back to this friendly hotel again. I wish him prosperity!

Where do I Start : From the moment we entered the gates at Sakala we were instantly met with smiling faces and open arms and we felt at home. This was our first trip to Bali and were a little uncertain of a few things all our questions were answered and we were given great tips. Nothing was pushed on us and we had assistance 24/7 if required which was extremely prompt and helpful. The staff at Sakala are so amazing and become friends and know you by name they check in just to see how your day is doing , if you need something in your room or just to have a chat. The pool bar staff are so friendly and you can't have a great chat with them and a good laugh the drinks are also really great.
Our experience at Sakala was truly a once in a lifetime experience, we have never been cared for and had an experience like this at any resort before and it is the reason why we will be going back.
Sakala is a lovely resort with amazing food especially at The Terrace if you are looking for traditional Balinese food look no further. Breakfast has a large variety also.
Our room was the pool access room which was fantastic , it was great to be able to wake up in the morning and open our gate and go into the pool. There is a small kitchen in the room that you can ask the staff to set up for you and the rooms are cleaned every day , there is also fresh fruit provided every few days which is a lovely touch.
We were here in the low season so it was generally quite however there were families and it is definitely a family friendly resort it is safe and security is around 24/7 and helps you to cross the road to the beach and the beach club. You can do water activities at the beach club , it is slightly difficult to swim in the beach due to the boats however there is a free shuttle to take you to Samuh Beach for swimming, there is also free shuttle to go Bali Collection which is great for shopping.
Overall our experience at Sakala was 10/10 and we are excited to be coming back in the next few months.
Thank you to all the staff at Sakala for making our first trip to Bali such a memorable one.

Hi there Sharen! 😊 Wow, thank you for this incredibly detailed and heartfelt review! It brings us so much joy to know that from the very moment you arrived, you felt right at home. Our goal is to make every guest feel like family, and we’re thrilled that you experienced that warm hospitality throughout your stay. 🌺 It sounds like you fully embraced the best of Sakala, from the friendly chats with our pool bar team and delicious meals at The Terrace (thank you for the Balinese food shout-out!) to the unique experience of waking up in your pool access room. Being able to step right into the pool in the morning sounds like the perfect way to start a Bali day! 🌴💦 We’re also happy that you enjoyed the extras, like the room setup, fresh fruit (only in our higher room categories), and helpful tips from the team. Traveling in low season has its perks, and we’re glad it allowed you to experience the quieter side of Bali with all the personal touches from our staff. Knowing that our resort and security made you feel safe and at ease means a lot to us. 😊 Thank you once again for this wonderful review, and we can’t wait to welcome you back soon for more unforgettable memories and laughter. Until then, we’ll keep things warm and ready for your return! 🥂✨ Warm regards, The Sakala Resort Bali Team

Our stay at The Sakala Resort Bali was exceptional and I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the wonderful experience we had. Since we arrived, we have been warmly welcomed with a level of hospitality that truly embodies the spirit of Bali. The entire resort team made us feel special and at home, with a special mention for Mr. Demi, whose attention to detail and kindness greatly improved our stay.

Resort itself is a paradise sheltered by the beauty of Bali. Amenities at The Sakala are world class and everything is maintained at the highest level. Rooms are spacious, elegantly decorated and offer breathtaking views. We particularly appreciated the luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere ideal for relaxing after spending days exploring the bustling island.

The pool was one of our favorite places. It is spacious, well maintained and offers a refreshing refuge from the tropical heat, surrounded by stunning scenery. The beachfront location of the resort adds an extra layer of tranquillity, making it ideal for enjoying Bali's famous sunsets.

It is also worth celebrating lunches at the resort. From breakfast to gourmet dinner, every meal was a culinary delight. Chefs have revealed Bali’s rich tastes, offering the perfect blend of local and international cuisine. Sakala Beach Club, located on the beachfront, creates an ideal atmosphere for a leisurely meal under the noise of waves in the background.

In addition to excellent facilities, Sakala Resort offers easy access to the treasures of Bali. Whether we explored cultural and historical sites, visited vibrant markets or simply enjoyed the island's natural beauty, the location allowed us to explore Bali at our own pace.

The most important thing that really stood out was the dedication of the staff to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. Every member of the team did everything they could to make our stay special. In particular, Mr. Demi has always been there to help us with every request, from recommending local attractions to ensuring that every part of our stay is perfect.

The combination of luxurious rooms, stunning scenery and impeccable service made our stay at the Sakala Resort Bali truly memorable. We left with deep appreciation for the excellent Balinese hospitality and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Thank you again to the entire team of The Sakala Resort and especially Mr. Demi for making our stay so enjoyable. This Resort is a jewel and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable Bali experience.

With my best wishes,
Dmitry Golinski

Sakara Resort Bali had a great time. The location is inside, so it was unfortunate to have to use a gojek or grab when moving to the tourist destination, but the staff was friendly and always smiling. The kids club was free for 3 hours and the teachers were very friendly. I especially want to thank vina. We fixed the inconvenience immediately and always tried to help. When the child accidentally put a glass bottle in the room, they helped to treat it and make it clean quickly. Thanks to this Bali Trips remained such a good memory :)

The staff during our stay were wonderful, greeted us by name every day and outstanding with assisting a 76 year old with mobility restrictions. We stayed 9 nights at The Sakala in Nusa Dua and in this time made a special bond with a few but I know I missed a few names here: we were on the 11pm flight into Bali and the first Sakala staff that greeted us was Ariawan, such a lovely person and gave us directions around the hotel for the next day 👍🏻 we adored the lovely egg chef Koming who has the most beautiful smile, makes amazing eggs, and from the local area (we hope to see you again). Then guest services were amazing with our 76 year old family member, always there to assist and kept an eye on her whilst doing water sports at the beach with our youngest members. To Demmy, Vina, Gita and the other guest a great big thank you for helping in every way possible to make our stay a beautiful family memory. Housekeeping was next level too 👌🏻.

We did write a seperate review about mobility issues for management to work on. And yes the hotel might be a bit older than the pictures but during our stay the resort had multiple areas being renovated, painted and looked quite active to make it look its best in 2025.

The beach and pool that you see in hotel photos is across a road, the security staff are amazing and stop traffic for hotel guests. Great service and blocked traffic for our guest who was a little slower crossing. The locals driving by were also lovely and considerate, always smiling as we waved to say thank you.

Breakfast is a must to include in your package when booking. For other meals the hotel has restaurants but if you jump in a taxi there’s heaps of dining down the street.

Make sure to visit the markets near the private beach, grab a bargain and support the locals doing it tough.

Our stay at the Sakala Resort Bali was fantastic. We had a thoroughly good time here! Our room had a pool view and we really liked all the facilities that the room had to offer, including an electric cooker. The morning breakfasts had a variety of east and western foods available and as a Muslim couple, the food was all halal. All non- halal items are clearly marked which gave us the peace of mind. The lobby area is very nice and has a relaxing vibe. A big shout out to Demmy for making my wife’s birthday breakfast so special and going above and beyond to cater to our needs. 10/10 service from Demmy, he had a lot of character and was very memorable :). All staff had good customer service skills and were very friendly here.

A few room for improvement would be to update their website. It states the gym is opened 24/7, but in fact is closed at 10pm daily. When we booked our hotel stay, we thought we were staying in Nusa Dua, but you are staying in Tanjung Benoa and the beaches are not very nice here. You have to take a shuttle bus to Bali Collection and then walk to the pristine Nusa Dua beaches. Also, the weekly activities such as movie bonfire night are not available anymore

Thank you for sharing your delightful review! 🌟 We're thrilled to hear that your stay at The Sakala Resort Bali was fantastic. 😊 It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed your pool-view room and appreciated the facilities, including the stove and kitchenette that we have in all of our suites. We're glad our breakfast offerings with a variety of East and Western foods met your expectations, and we're pleased with our sensitivity towards our Muslim guests when it comes to food. The relaxing vibe of our lobby area with daily evening live music is something we take pride in, and we're happy you found it enjoyable. A big shoutout to Demmy for making your wife’s birthday breakfast so special! His dedication to going above and beyond truly makes a difference, and we're glad he left a memorable impression on you. We'll make sure to pass on your compliments to him. 😊 We appreciate your feedback regarding areas for improvement. We apologize for the inconvenience about the gym hours and will update our website to reflect the correct information. We understand the confusion regarding the location; while we are in Tanjung Benoa, the shuttle service to both Samuh Beach Bali Collection does make it convenient to access the pristine Nusa Dua beaches. We're also sorry to hear that the weekly activities like movie bonfire night are no longer available due to the strong wind conditions, and we will look into providing more up-to-date information. Thank you again for your kind words and constructive feedback. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable stay! 🌴✨ Warmest regards, The Sakala Resort Bali Team 🌺

Good afternoon valuable guest. The hotel provide access rumps to access to the lobby area, beach club and another facilities. Saying this, please bare in mind the resort it is quite large and facilities along side of the two parts of the resort which is divide by a road. The hotel provide a couple of accessible rooms with larger bathrooms, lower beds... and other facilities to accommodate guest with these needs. Please feel free to contact us at via email, which you can find on our brand website, for more detail information or photos of the hotel and specific facilities. Kind regards Wydia

Good afternoon Mrs Pinga Tanjung Benoa beach it is the center of water sports in Bali, so it is not really comfortable for swimming. Our beach club provides a beautiful infinitive pool over looking the sea which it is a great alternative. Also recently, we have opened a second Beach Club on Samuh Beach with it is located 5 min drive away from the hotel with complementary shuttle times provide by the hotel. This is the alternative for all our guest who want to enjoy the beach swimming. I hope this help. Kind regards Wydia
