We arrived in Arette and without a booking were able to stay here. We found both the owners - especially the lady very welcoming and spoke good English. The rooms are basic and the decoration - as others have written is unusual. It is very quiet in Arette and we found nobody on our nights stay was able to offer...

Stayed here while doing a motorcycle tour of the Pyrenees. I was travelling alone and hadn't booked in advance. I was given room 11 which had everything I needed; a bed, a bathroom, a wardrobe and a window. No view though. I found the hosts very friendly and I felt very welcome. I had dinner at the hotel and it...

I stayed here twice. The rooms are cheesily decorated: lime green walls, super ugly furniture. The bathrooms are ugly, and even the bath towel had a slight odor of stale smoke. You can rest assured that the smoking owner does laundry too, of course, while smoking! My room happened to overlook the rear patio where the outdoor seating for dinner...

With all the due respect we owe to our customers it is very important for us to respond at this comment. You should not write information that you haven't checked: The Hotel de l’Ours is completely nonsmoking. Bar, restaurant, public rooms and bedrooms are nonsmoking. We do not tolerate any deviation from this measure. The laundry is not cleaned inhouse,...

Stay away from room number 11 - that's not a room, that's a broomstick garage! The man was quite friendly, the woman way less... In the morning it appeared that she was not correct - I had to stand on my stripes and refused to get scammed by her. In the end she accepted my payment (without the extra's she...

Booked this hotel because of the good reviews it appeared to have . We turned up at 20.30 after a longs days travelling, to find they werent even aware of our advance booking, and hadnt checked their emails from the booking company. They did have room available which we were booked into. Positives first. The room was large. It was...

We decided to take refuge at the this hotel for my husband's cycling trip across the Pyrenees. It was raining heavily and we decided against camping. What a delight, the owners could speak English and so our needs were meet easily, the room was what it should be clean, good size with everything working as was the en-suite. We also...

We were 8 cyclists. And we had a great time. The diner was very good. Regional products that taste excellent. And the drinks including the Tinto Verano was superb!!! We slept very well and with a hugh breakfast we cycled to Luz St. Saveur. We like to come back.

Just about acceptable. Dinner was not good value - best to eat in village ( 3 mins walk from hotel). Church clock makes sure you are awake at 6.30. However there are not many options the French side of the mountains - almost worth staying in Oloron St Marie - only 15 minutes further away.

“Don't get a patio-side room, unless you want to subject yourself to second-hand smoke from the owner. Also a dog barks at night in the distance.”
