We loved our stay here. Len’s a huge source of knowledge and was very accommodating. It’s a beautiful sanctuary, with some lovely hikes nearby. We saw devils, spotted quolls, pademelons and possums every night. Really enjoyed our cabin which was extremely cosy and warm. Look forward to visiting again one day soon!

We had a lovely stay at Mountain Valley Holiday, Loongana. A must do!! Great way and place to sit back to rest, relax and enjoy. Some lovely informative nature walks, cave and viewing of wildlife, in their natural environment, to do and see throughout the day, evening and night. Enjoy viewing the wildlife feeding in their natural environment whilst you sit back and view them from the cabin, through the glass windows. This is an incredible experience, all in the natural environment and habitat. Seeing the animals feeding in their natural and relaxed atmosphere makes the stay extraordinarily special and spectacular. A great place to have no TV. Internet is Available if needed just ask Len and Pat. Thank you Len and Pat for the great stay!! 😊💕 cheers Kim and Mark.

The best wildlife experience you can get in Australia. Rustic cosy huts, with Devils, Quolls and cute Pademelons on your door step. The glow worm tour was an unexpected highlight. Len the host was lovely, very informative, made sure we got the best out of our stay.

Travelling with our 9 and 10 year old we committed to experiencing the best of Tasmania’s wilderness. We believe we found this at Mountain Valley Wilderness hosted by Len and his family which exceeded all our expectations. We stayed in the Possum cabin which was way beyond what we expected with bunk beds and large double bed with luxurious linen. We had a fireplace which we used and enhanced our wilderness experience and the perfect kitchen that catered to all our needs. We loved the surrounding Leven Canyon and being based at the base of the amazing Black Buff Mountain. Waking up to the Mountai each morning was a highlight. The reserve sits right on Leven River and at dusk Len took us down to see the Platypus which has a bucket list hope for so long. We also saw our first Tasmanian Echidna. At night the magic happens as the nocturnal wildlife come alive. Whether they are playing, eating, fighting or just being nosy right on your cabin porch we saw Quolls, Tasmanian Devils and Possums. It’s always a pleasure to meet the rare few in the world who are so passionate about the preservation of the environment and the wildlife. We know we met a custodian of the land and the wildlife of this special place in the world in Len. Thank you for having us Len and family it was our privilege to have stayed with you. This was a once in a lifetime of experience and a forever memory that we are so grateful for.

Stayed here in October 2020 for 2 nights. Very cosy cabin, and friendly host to welcome and show me around. The location is heaven made on earth, with lush forested hills surrounding the valley with the picturesque Leven River. Abundant wildlife. I saw several Tasmanian devils, a platypus, numerous pademelons and possums, plus birds everywhere. Tranquil and beautiful oasis. Recommended very highly for nature lovers.
