My wife and I had a three night stay here a few weeks ago and loved it. The house is late Georgian and overlooks the lake from which it takes its name. It has a lovely welcoming feel and is comfortable and warm (with an open log fire in the sittingroom). Verity is a relaxed but attentive hostess who really...

My husband and I enjoyed a perfect night away from the city and our very small children in Verity's beautiful home. We had the place to ourselves which suited us on this occasion. We had a refreshing walk enjoying the stunning views on arrival followed by tea and cake by the cosy fire with the weekend papers. Dinner and breakfast...

Fantastic location in central Ireland near the border of Co Meath & Co Westmeath. We spent our last night here in Ireland getting a very restful sleep. Verity is a wonderful, accommodating hostess with a passion for cooking. You will not be disappointed. Large 2nd floor bedroom suite with views of Lake Bane. Very quiet and tranquil. The drive time...

We had the pleasure of staying at Lough Bawn House a couple weeks ago. Upon arriving, just before sunset, we were greeted by an ostentation of peacocks, and by Verity and her two loyal dogs. Verity couldn’t have been more welcoming, charming, gracious and helpful. We’d been caught in rain storm and were chilled to the bone – so she...

Location, ambience of peacefulness, cuisine, Verity's hospitality and the overall old country house in the country experience, helps to make Lough Bawn a home from home. One you visit, you'll become a regular. Verity is welcoming and trusting and gets the balance just right between giving you space and being attentive to your needs. You come and go as you...

Lough Bawn House is an absolute delight but it is Verity, the doyenne of Lough Bawn who makes your stay so enjoyable and memorable. Food all home grown or home made. Rooms that make you want never to leave them, views to die for, peacocks on the lawn and hens at the door and sleeping dogs. Reader, I would arise...

If you want to discover hidden Ireland in a part of the world which most tourists never visit then I suggest you stay at Lough Bawn House, overlooking a beautiful lake in Co Westmeath not far from Kells and Mullingar. Lough Bawn House built in the early 1820s is a beautiful home and its surrounding gardens and farmland is lovely....

We stayed in Lough Bawn in July as we were attending a local wedding. What a hidden gem it is. Tucked away down a wandering lane way with cared for mature gardens on both sides, when you arrive at the house you have a beautiful view of the lough. Comfy beds, large rooms, a separate TV room if required and,...

I took my Mother here for her 80th and what a fantastic weekend we had. Verity was the consummate hostess, fulfilling all our needs and more. As well as my Mother and her partner I had my 2 young kids (1 and 4 years old), my wife, my sister and her husband. Everybody wants to go back. The kids had...

This is real Hidden Ireland at its best. A wonderful welcome from Verity after a long day in old cars - tea and cake were delicious in the lovely drawing room. Really homely, comfortable and delightful bedrooms. Verity's dinner for 8 of us was amazing - each course was a real treat, in such a relaxing setting. Amazing lake views...
