Beautiful friendly people who take you into their home. Food fantastic and the scenery around is breathtaking . Not a fault with cleanliness or comfort. Im staying there again. Rosemary went out of her way to wash clothes for us which is not in the rental. Jim is great for a yarn.
I stayed for one night in this little guest house on the 29th July 2016. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. The location is beautiful, situated on a farm beside a little lake with the Donegal mountains in the distance. The view from the breakfast room is amazing and the breakfast itself is lovely, in fact as nice a breakfast as I have ever had in any type of hotel accommodation. The B&B would be ideal for a peaceful and relaxing weekend break. You could park your car and not use it again until you leave as there are plenty of walks in and around the area including two lovely beaches and a beautiful little harbour.
Rosemary and Jim are lovely and live in a calm and nice area. Also, they served the best breakfast of Ireland (all is home made)! We had a very good time with all the family. There is a wonderful point of view close to the house and a pub (bonners) where you can enjoy irish music. We will go back in Limekiln!
We had such a great time staying with Rosemary and Jim in Carrickfin. It is such a beautiful part of the world and waking up here each morning is really quite special, especially when greeted with the most delicious cooked breakfast and fresh fruit. Our bedroom was really comfortable and cosy with some beautiful paintings by Rosemary adorning our walls. The ensuite was lovely and spacious and lots of fresh towels were provided. We saw some beautiful sunsets and spent some lovely sunny days swimming down at the nearby beach and eating at close by restaurants such as Danny Mini's in Annagry. We would highly recomend Limekiln House for a relaxing, quiet stay with lots of sea air and easy access to the stunning Atlantic Way drive. Can't wait to go back!
Three generations of our family recently had the great fortune to stay with Rosemaire and Jim in their wonderful welcoming home in Carrickfinn when we were celebrating our sisters 60th birthday,. From the moment we arrived to copious pots of tea and delicious biscuits and their turf fire in their lovely sitting room with such amazing views to the moment we left we were completely spoiled. For some people breakfast is a meal they'd rather skip, whereas for some its the driving force of their day and we fall into the later category .The abundance of fine food served at breakfast was astoundingly delicious , fresh fruit salad ,the cereals the perfect fry the pots of coffee the delicious buns all out of this world and better than any five star hotel I have ever stayed in.The bedrooms were very clean and spacious and the beds were very comfortable, great water pressure in the shower Rosemarie and Jim were so easy to chat to and so informative of their area and they just made if all look so effortless. We also had the great fortune to hear a cookoo and a corncrake and the beach two minutes walk away is nicer than any in the world, unspoiled , golden sand and stunning blue waters. We are so looking forward to our next visit to Roasemarie and Jim and would highly recommend a visit there…
