This is a simple selling point, you are up on a hill, gazing out across a beautiful bay when you sit in your sofa, awaken in your large bed or when you sit in your private garden area. It is absolutely fantastic, you can get the same view on foot or in a car, but can you wake up to...

I stayed for one Thursday night at The Mangonui Motel, having found it online, and been impressed by how it looked. I have to say, its even better in real life. More than just a motel room, more like an apartment, with full kitchen, separate bedroom very comfortable lounge area, and great outside space complete with patio furniture. The views...

The 'best views' in Mangonui convinced us to book and we were not disappointed. We were upgraded and the rooms were clean and comfortable, with a stunning view of the harbour. The electric blanket was really good for the middle of winter. The free wi-fi was fast and constant. The steps down to the village are not as daunting as...

At first sight this looks like an ordinary slightly run down motel. However, the sign on the building that says " best views in Mangonui" is 100% accurate. Our room, No.7, I think, was newly renovated with panoramic views out across the harbour. Just superb. We stayed here for three nights and didn't see Richard till the third night when...

Spotlessly clean traditional Kiwi Motel with super seaviews on both sides. The units have simple kitchens for stat at homes and is close to the quaint little town of Mangonui and its excellent cakes and restaurants for those wanting to eat out. Try the walk down the cliff face to the village.

Only stayed here for one night but wished it was for longer. My reaction when I first walked into the apartment was WOW! The views from the balcony and every window are amazing. The apartment itself was roomy and well equiped and the bed very comfortable and the owner, Rich, very friendly. Loved the atmosphere of Mangonui and its location,...

We stayed in Rooms 5 and 6 at the end both with breathtaking views. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. Steep walk down to the shops and restaurants, the price you pay for those views but you can drive down also. Great Thai takeaway and recommend the Little Kitchen for tapas style food. Lovely historical area.

The best part of the motel was the view. Handy that you could walk right up to the door. We had Room 1. All the linen and furnishings were old. The wifi was really bad and constantly dropped in and out. The walls were not insulated and the placing of the bathroom right beside the kitchen was a bad idea....
