This is just the most amazing place we have ever stayed. designed and conseived by the owner, Owen. He has thought of ever detail and absolutely delivered. Huge rooms with massive, comfortable, beds and amazing in-suite (yes I mean 'in') facilities. Lie in a egg bath and look out across the unspoilt forests. Lovely attentive staff ensure your stay is...

I am not a man given to gushing over any place. However in this instance I am having to reign myself in. Tamodi Lodge is one of the best residences I have stopped at. The views are stunning, the food is amazing and the wine cellar offers something for everyones palate, even me and I am a Lager drinker. It...

This luxury hotel is situated outside of Plettenburg off the main road to Storms river, adjacent to the riding stables. The building sits on a ridge so the views across the forested valleys are amazing, however, there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance from the lodge. Also note that Tamodi does not offer horse riding as the stables...

We were staying in the honeymoon suite which was great, especially the outside shower and the views, well we just agree with every comment before AMAZING. The breakfasts were about the best we had on our whole trip, however we are not big eaters in the morning and it would be lovely if it could be extended until later so...

Hi Sally, I really do appologise for that service as we do pride ourselves in taking care of all our guests needs. Towels on the floor are normally replaced but on investigating , the staff tell me they have been trying to save water as we are critically short and not necessarily wash everyday but they should have replaced your...

The welcome was somewhat surprising as we were 'left alone' alone in this big house after a very short introduction by the employee. But, the next morning, we were completely amazed and blowen away by the beauty of the premises, the spectaculair view at breakfast and the warm welcome by our host Owen. Superb stay !

We had the private honeymoon suite with a balcony looking out onto the forest and mountains. It is totally separate from the main lodge so very private. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Owen, the owner, took us on an early morning hike through the forest which we really enjoyed. He is passionate about nature and we learned...

We feel truly honoured to have discovered Tamodi Lodge. The views across the lush green valley are simply stunning and the peace and tranquility we enjoyed here was so welcome after a full-on Safari. We stayed in one of the honeymoon suites which was incredibly spacious and had a generous private decked terrace. The breakfasts cooked by Owen are superb...

This is a delightful and luxurious B&B on a horse farm isolated from the busy world with views across a valley that seems to go on forever. The rooms are luxurious, staff could not be more welcoming and attentive, breakfast delicious and beautifully served. The bottom line is that we had stayed here before and were so anxious to return...

We loved our stay in Tamodi lodge very much. Nice big room (Honeymoon-Suite) with outdoor shower (nice in the morning!), good bed. Friendly personal, very good breakfast. Close to the beach, perfect meals at Enrico! Fresh fish and good atmosphere. No Wifi in the honeymoon-suite, but good in the lodge.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tamodi Lodge and Stables (luxury 4 star accommodation in Plettenberg Bay) was created by Lynne and Owen Johnston, their inspiration born out of a love for horses and the beautiful valleys of the Crags. This passion is reflected in the carefully designed main house and stable buildings. You will relax in the peaceful setting while looking out over indigenous forests, valleys and the Outeniqua Mountains. Two beautiful standard rooms are available as well as our luxurious honeymoon suite. The property forms part of a natural conservancy area and is also a working equestrian farm with a riding school. We provide a full breakfast, but suggest lunch and dinner at one of the fine Plett restaurants. Keurbooms beach is just 5 minutes away, where you can enjoy magnificent views over the bay while watching the whales and dolphins playing in the surf. ... more   less
