We visited in Feb 2020 and had a wonderful stay. The staff was courteous and professional, the indoor heated pool is very very nice, and we got to try many local dishes in the buffet style breakfast and dinner. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and the sunrise. My son is already asking to come back next year :-)

My husband and I decided, on the spur of the moment, to visit Hualien and did not book in advance. Because the hotel we stayed at the first night was a total disaster we decided to go to Far Glory. We were greeted at the reception by Owen, who was absolutely awesome! He was very friendly, helpful and very professional. He is definitely a great assest to this establishment.
We enjoyed the pool very much. The gardens are beautiful and the view from the top of the hotel is breathtaking.
I gave the hotel a 4 and not a 5 rating only because the dinner and breakfast buffet was mainly for Asian people and not for foreigners. Perhaps not having tourists from other countries visiting because of the coronavirus might be the reason.

My family just spent 5 days at this wonderful property and would gladly return.

Facilities:
Great! From the kids areas, with small arcade and table tennis, to the sports bar with a climbing wall, we were very happy with everything there. The gym was modern, but only had dumbbells, so not much in the way of weights, but the cardio equipment was nice.

Staff:
Everyone we encountered here was very helpful and also very patient with us as we don’t speak Mandarin. So many people were helpful, but I especially want to recognize Leo in guest relations. He helped us many occasions as we tried to plan our time in Hualien. He is a great asset to the hotel.

Food:
Breakfast was great with many options for everyone. This was a great way to start each day. We had one meal in the bar and also room service a couple of times. Each meal was well prepared and good value.

Room:
We had a corner suite overlooking the ocean with an amazing wrap around balcony. We had an excellent view with great space for our family of 4.

Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would gladly recommend this property to others.

Our experience at Farglory is average at best the primary reason is due to the smaller rooms of which was expensive and due to it's smaller size full beds I didn't get a good night sleep. Also their pool is small for this many people. The value presented was a bad one for me.

I wanted to say a big thank you to all the amazing staff for making our stay so wonderful. My son had his 7th birthday at Farglory, and the team went out of their way to make sure it was memorable. From the front desk team organising a surprise cake for him on our return to the room, the house keeping team folding up our towels into fun elephants, the restaurant staff organising candles for our cake, to the Rich Fun play centre stuff making birthday balloons. We can not speak more highly of our visit. Thank you again Farglory staff!

Everything is perfect.
Good location with amazing view, staff are very friendly, room is large and comfortable. We also had buffet dinner at hotel, food is ok but seafood very fresh, my foreigner friends like it very much.
It is highly recommended for family holiday no matter you will go to Ocean Park or not.

I have to admit that the view in my sight is great at there. My family went there 1 year ago and 10 years ago. They said that the view made them relaxed. They could see The Pacific Ocean at there. Food in the Hotel was good as well. When my family came here, I came here to visit them and had a nice meal. We chose to offer a set menu for about 8 last year. I don't know the price should be this high, but after considering the extensive view and fresh air here, I think it's acceptable. If you have acrophobia... I recommend you better find other places to stay.

No seems to be the only English word taught to employees at Far Glory. We arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturday. It was a beautiful day at a beautiful location perched on the mountain with views of the Pacific on the east side, and Hualien to the west. We pulled up to unload and were told pretty quickly NO you can’t park here for check in. I asked for Valet and they said again NO you need to move your car. After finding the garage and navigating to the lobby we went to check in. They said NO your room is not ready and NO you cant get into your room early. With a very insincere smirky smile we were told sorry NO room until 3 p.m. We asked what restaurant was open to get some lunch while we waited for our room. She said NO there are no restaurants open until 2. We navigated to the the buffet area looking to kill some time. Upon arrival we were told that they had a small menu we could order from. They sat us the furthest table away from the check in podium by the smoking area outside, which provided us with plenty of second hand smoke every time the door opened (which was more often than one could imagine). We ordered a club sandwich with a glass of wine and a Taiwan beer. After an hour of trying to get the attention of the staff to order a second round of wine and beer the manager told us NO we don’t sell wine and beer. Clearly we were confused and were pretty certain that a language barrier was in play. I went to find a waiter and asked to bring us a second round. The waiter came over with a small group of employees to tell us NO they didn’t have wine or beer, and we had to go to the bar upstairs for any adult beverages. We weren’t happy obviously- paid our bill and left. We went upstairs to the Palazo bar and of course they are closed, not opening until 7:30pm- shocking! We finally check into our room and decide to venture over to the SPA. We walk in the spa only to be greeted by NOBODY. After 5 minutes of calling out load for help, I venture over to the pool lobby area front desk to inquire about service. The employee told me that the employee was busy doing massages and NO one was working the desk. After waiting in the lobby area the employee quickly chastises me for having not removed my shoes. I didn’t see the small sign at the front door- nor would anyone not familiar with the establishment. I was not happy and left my wife to deal with the circumstance, of which i declined to participate with. My daughter and wife ended up scheduling a spa appointment of which they enjoy (the only saving grace of the whole experience). We decided to swim and hot tub, We were quickly told that a swim cap was required and NO you cant swim with out it. We succumbed to the pressure and suited up!! Walking over to the hot tub we were told NO you cant wear sandals that the hotel provided you in the pool are. We folded again! We ventured to the outdoor pool bar for cold beverage. We asked for a Taiwan Beer and the employee said NO we don’t sell Taiwan beer we only have Heineken. We spared a for a few minutes because I ordered a Taiwan beer at lunch and settled on the only choice we have. The beer came and I asked for a cup to share the beer with my nephew and were told NO we don’t have any cups for beer. After a lengthy conversation with someone who clearly had no idea what I was asking he provided me with 2 small 2 oz Dixie cups from the dentist office. Finally off to dinner after my wife’s great massage and our nasty little dip in the kiddy pool. We dined at the Chinese Restaurant at 7:30 p.m. We ordered the Pecking Duck for an appetizer and a few other dishes. Our waitress DORIS WAS GREAT AND VERY FRIENDLY. All the dishes came except the duck. At the end of dinner someone came out from the back to tell us NO you cant have the duck we are sold out. We saw 3 tables served the duck that arrived AFTER us!!! Exhausted from being told NO we retired for the evening.

NO is the only word employees know how to say at Far Glory. The rooms are seriously tired and need a refresh! The pool wall has a leak that needs to be fixed. They have ONE red wine varietal on the wine menu that’s not good at all. This hotel is FAR from 5 stars... Not one employee could assist us with English except Doris and everyone else only knows how to say NO....

NO NO NO....NO NO NO... No NO NO NOoooooo

Day two was only more of the same... which I won’t go on to tell. All I can say is really disappointed in the service. Could be amazing, but the staff is really lacking in customer service. Not friendly regardless of language barriere. Really at a basic level.

Lastly... NO we won’t be back, and NO we would not recommend.

The concierge services is very poor. Tell me that the fridge inside the room is of recycling type. I bought a chilled coke and strawberry milk in the evening. put inside the fridge. the next day, the coke was not cold and the milk turn sour. Horrible. Before i did the check in, was told my transportation to the railway was covered, when i check out they have the audacity to ask me to pay for the transport down. horrible.

The hotel and surrounding view definitely look stunning. But the "software" leaves very much to be desired and not worth the 5 star hotel rating.
A group of us went in the mid afternoon after 3pm for a visit and wanted to have afternoon tea there since the view was so good. However, to our surprise, they do not offer afternoon tea although they have a huge area on the ground floor with proper dinning furniture overlooking the Pacific Ocean! The best part was, the whole place was not being used/occupied at all although proper equipped and furnished! Instead, there is a small confectionary stall selling exquisite looking cakes and pastries for takeaway. When we asked if we could have the cakes and pastries at the dinning area (which was fully equipped but not occupied at all, it took the service staff to arrange and finally let us have our afternoon tea there. When we tried to order the beverages, there was no tea but only 3 coffee beverages available. No menu was available and thus the prices of the beverages were also not provided. But we thought, how expensive can the beverages be since the pastries were quite reasonably priced, we were all shocked when the bill came. A cup of café latte cost almost NTD200!!! And mind you, the presentation of the coffee and cutleries used were not worthy of a 5 star hotel setting. It's worst than what you get in a normal café setting.
We were originally contemplating to stay at the hotel at our next visit given the stunning view and beautiful appearance of the hotel although it may not be cheap. However, we immediately changed our mind because we can't imagine what other "surprises" that are not befitting of a 5 star hotel that we will encounter if we do stay there at the price of a 5 star hotel!

About 20 min btw hotel and night market. The night view of the road is very pretty as it is at Pacific shoreline. I think the hotel has shuttle bus as I have seen it. But I have not taken any hotel shuttle bus as we had our own car. You can check the hotel website or email to the hotel for more accurate and updated information. Hope this helps.
