We stayed in this hotel because it is inside the Monster Village and the closest hotel to visit the Xitou Nature Education Area. Other hotels and hostels are a bit further, some at walking distance and most of them not. The resort is actually part of the Xitou Monster Village. To be specific, the resort area is actually larger than the Monster Village park. The resort is accesible by car or bus. The bus stop is very close at around 50m. The resort is comprised of small wooden houses with parking space just in front of the house but it also offers rooms in 2 or 3 buildings. We were offered a wooden house for two of us and it was huge. The house had 2 big double beds even though we were only a couple. It had also a very big bathroom with shower and bathtub. There was also a living room adjacent to the beds. It was huge for a couple and enough for 4 people. The houses are built respecting the trees of the area. Ours had 2 big trees surrounded by the house and extended beyond the roof. Very interesting. The whole place is like a theme village by the Monster Village park. The park offers convenient meal options and had a 24h covenience store. The breakfast was offered in a themed restaurant that tried to reproduce an old Taiwan neigborhood. It had big round tables for as much as 10 people. So you will probably be sharing it with other families. The place offered a not very clean and comfortable feeling. The food offering was mainly Chinese. It had coffee but not juices at all but, yes, there was free flow of soft drinks. The area has many hotels and hostels to stay in but they are scattered around. This one is the most convenient for a visit to the Nature Education Area.

This hotel is located in a small amusement area "Monster Village". Monster village is mainly for kids. The have live performances of "monsters", music, little stalls where you can buy souvenirs and food. As adults we felt a little out of place. However in walking distance you have Xitou National Forest Recreation area with several trails (easy to strenuous), Arboretums, Sky walk any many more. The area is beautiful. The hotel consists of several buildings and houses. We stayed at the building above the Family Market. We had a room at the 6th floor (2602). This room was very very spacious. It had two large beds, a seating area and a very large bathroom. The furniture and decoration was all in style of the monsters, which was fun. The room was clean. Water bottles were provided. Free wifi. There are a lot of kids in the hotel and the hallways are noisy. Breakfast is mainly Chinese fare and mediocre of quality. Parking was possible next to the hotel. Just drive up to the reception and they will tell you were to park. At the reception there was one lady who spoke English. She was super service oriented and very friendly. Monster village was really crowded on Sunday. So the noise level was high.

This hotel was recommended by my Taiwanese friends as I was planning to go Xitao national park. My friend help me to purchase a online package deal including one night in six people family room, dinner and breakfast. Five of us are very happy with the value of this deal. The room is very lovely with monster theme. The biggest disadvantage for me is no porter so we have to carry our own luggage to the room without an elevator. However, the hotel service was excellent. The staff are very nice and friendly. They couldn't install bedside rails per our wish at first time, but they didn't give up. After a while they came out the solution and installed perfectly. From this instance, we see their sincere in service. This place also offers heaps entertainment and shops with the same monster monster theme. We appreciate their hard work to give every visitor a happy and unforgivable memory. We have buffet style dinner and breakfast. It is rare experience to me to have this Taiwanese traditional food buffet. They target on the middle class people, so don't expect high class food. The roasted duck and Chinese turnip cake were yum. Overall we all have a lot fun here. The location is very convenient for me as it just next to my destination, Xitao national park. I am highly satisfied with the service and room and will recommend my friends this hotel.

The wooden hut we stayed was lovely and nice. The room is big enough with a living room. We could park the car under the hut so it is very handy. We were allowed to check in earlier. The beds and pillows are comfortable. We could sleep very well there. The price isn't cheap but we regard it is reasonable. The buffet dinner and breakfast won't give you any surprise on the other hand. Perhaps I am not too keen on the Taiwanese food. I couldn't eat rice or heavy food in the morning. The resort offers different activities for the tourists. The night activity was fun! we 3 enjoyed it very much. After check out, we could leave our car there until 12:30noon. So we could keep spending the time in the village. you can try to rent kimono there. There is a forest park nearby. You only need a few minutes walk. you can find a lot of different food easily. If you need anything at night, there is a Family mart opening for 24 hours. you will love the deco in the village. It will be bigger later. we can see construction working on. We would love to stay in this resort again in the future!
