This is the best homestay we've ever experienced in Taiwan! We stayed 4 nights and I would give it six stars if I could. One extra star for authenticity. Some homestays are run by employees, but this is run by the owner, Phoebe, herself. She cooked for us, made sure we were comfortable and went the extra mile of helping us with our laundry. She even helped us book train tickets from Taipei to Hualien. La même histoire is beautiful and full of warmth. Our room was so charming and cozy, we could have stayed in it all day! From our room and from the garden, we could see some mountains in the distance. It was so relaxing. Our family loved everything about this minsu, from the lovely chats with Phoebe, the room, the food, to the adorable cat. The kids didn't want leave and said they wanted to stay there again. Even my 3 year old child remembers Aunty Phoebe and La même histoire with fondness. She is so loving. He asked me to take him back there, some weeks after our departure! The food was fantastic too, prepared lovingly by Phoebe and delightfully plated. Delicious and always a wonderful visual treat!!! Phoebe also recommended a great driver-guide, Mr Su. He has his own DSLR camera and took some fabulous pics of us. When he heard we wanted to try fishing in a stream, he stopped to buy us some nets and drove to his home nearby to get us a pail. His car is also super clean! And he stayed back longer than the hired hours to send us to mass at a Catholic Church. We appreciated that very much. Anyone considering staying at Phoebe's homestay need not hesitate further. It's the best!!!…
Tucked away in a quite area just out of town is this little gem with 6 carefully furnished spacious rooms. Six of us stayed 2 nights here which we used as a base for a bike ride up Taroko Gorge. We were so well looked after by Phoebe who provided delicious breakfasts and magnificent afternoon teas, no dinner needed afterwards.
We loved everything here! The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and clean. The room in 3F was spacious and had a nice view. The building itself was decorated beautifully and made us feel cozy. Two of my favorite things were the home-made breakfast tea time. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it! 房間乾淨整潔，床與枕頭軟硬適中，能好好睡上一覺。三樓的客房景色很好，裝潢的很有品味及質感，主人們非常棒，早餐與下午茶更是用心。值得再訪的好地方。
La même histoire 初の見 - 霏比 and Vincent Hsia are great hosts of our minsu stay. Before our trip, 菲比stayed up to help book our train tickets. 菲比has excellent culinary skills and we enjoyed her delicious breakfast and tea breaks! 这是菲比寻常的好民宿！
We spent a very comfortable 2 nights in August 2018 here, well looked after by co-owners Phoebe and Vincent. Exactly the kind of stay we were looking for before – a perfect ‘base camp’ to relax in, before we headed on for a 3-day cycling tour down Taiwan’s East Rift Valley. Phoebe got in touch by e-mail well in advance of our visit to make sure we had a smooth arrival (she booked a cab to pick us up from our restaurant for dinner) and to help us make the best of our short stay in Hualien. La Meme Histoire is a 15 minute drive south from Hualien train station – in a quiet area out of the town where the air is soft and clean. Phoebe has an arrangement with an efficient, discount taxi service so we were able to move into and out of town quickly and cheaply. Phoebe and Vincent showed us around together on our arrival and, as they had spare rooms available, offered us a room upgrade at no extra cost! Our upgraded room was large, well-lit, beautifully clean and very comfortable - lots of free snacks and a bowl of delicious fresh longan berries from the garden. The ensuite bathroom was spacious, with a great shower. This is a beautifully designed (industrial chic) and thoughtfully decorated B&B. What sets this place apart from hotels - and even other B&Bs – is the gentle, warm hospitality of the owners. Phoebe, Vincent and their son Randy are a kind, interesting and fun family who are attentive in just the right kind of way to their guests. We felt right at home. We very much enjoyed our breakfasts. The food (Taiwanese/Chinese) was superb - inventive, attractive, tasty and varied (Phoebe is an excellent cook). And our conversations with each family member were stimulating and wide-ranging. Meatball the cat – quite a personality – showed up each morning for a bit of pampering after breakfast. We look forward to returning to La Meme Histoire, and will recommend this B&B to friends who want to visit Hualien, the Rift Valley or Taroko Gorge.…
