Staff were great to deal with. Front desk was pleasant and the person who picked us up from the train station was punctual and polite. The hotel overall looks quite new and well maintained. My only recommendation would be to update the shower stalls. The shower stalls look very old and worn compared to the rest of the room. Also, the super King bed is two smaller beds pushed together, and you can feel the crack in the middle (avoid sleeping in the middle of the bed). My husband found the pillows too firm and ended up sleeping without one. If you prefer a soft or flat pillow, consider bringing your own. Breakfast is a good standard Taiwanese hotel breakfast which we found satisfying. Overall, we thought this hotel was great value, and appreciated the staff's helpfulness during our stay.

The biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in. It's also very clean and its staff are very friendly and helpful. The night market is about 10 mins walk away and you can also find Laundromat 2 streets away.

Room Tip: Booked 3 rooms and only 1 with Ocean View. Were also able to see the Ocean from the 2 other rooms.

From the moment we pulled up at the entrance to this hotel in our taxi from the main railway station, we received first class service.

Unbeknown to us, had we requested a free shuttle service from the railway station, this was available but as we booked through an online hotel booking site, we were unaware of this free service.

The doorman took our cases and quickly took them into the hotel. The reception staff greeted us in a warm and friendly manner and all spoke fluent English to my husband although, I am a Chinese and speak fluent Mandarin too.

We were shown to our room (903) however, upon entering the room there was a very strong odour as if some food stuffs had been cooked in the room.

We thought once the air conditioning kicked in it would go away but alas, it did not. We complained to the reception and they concurred that there was this smell in the room and they later moved us to the room next door.

Both rooms had picture windows that looked out across the city and over the Pacific Ocean. Stunningly beautiful views.

The rooms were large, well appointed and had Kingsized beds. Other than the offensive smell in the first room we were allocated, the rooms were clean and the bedding crisp and fresh.

The room had a large flat screen modern TV as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The room also benefited from a couch and the air conditioner worked well and was quite. Indeed, the room was also very quiet.

The wifi was free and was strong which, is always a great thing to have. This hotel is a higher end four star hotel and is deserving of this accolade.

We were impressed with this hotel and its service. The staffs reaction to our concern over the first room was immediate and they were very concerned. They did everything right in making sure our complaint was addressed and our room was changed without question or argument. Kudos to the hotel staff in this regard.

We slept well in the comfortable beds and the room was very quiet.

Breakfast was a buffet Chinese style breakfast and for Westerners like my husband, there was pretty much nothing that he would want to eat other than toast. So if you are a Westerner, don't book breakfast but go to somewhere outside that will cook and serve you something!

One of the more modern hotels looking at the Hualien city view from the top floor on 12th floor. Spacious and clean rooms at good price. Good breakfast with a good mix of western and taiwanese breakfast (prefer to eat the local delights when in the country than international breakfast). short 5 min walk to the night market too. Will stay again.

Stayed one night here paying a bit more for a corner room.

Checkin was excellent with friendly staff happily trying enthusiastically to communicate even though English was not there first language. Gave us great advice on where to eat in town too.

The room was spacious and well appointed. Bathroom full glass over bath and shower with great view of the city. Comfortable bed too.

Only pity about the room was the panoramic view was through a very murky window - see picture. Please clean.

Breakfast was limited in western style offerings including toast but no butter or marg. Good coffee though .

Great location in town and friendly people make this a place I would certainly return to if in Hualien.

we stayed on the 12th floor which give a good view of Hualien City and partial seaview.
The frontdesk staff is friendly and do not hesitate to offer their advice whenever request.

To my most appreciation, the management and staff have manage to find my lost item and courier back to my country in a shortest possible time. Give a Thumb up to the staff and management.

My children like this hotel very much as the room is spacious and close to night market and Nanbin park (pacific ocean park) which within walking distance. we will definitely visit the hotel if we are in Hualien.

This is one of the most modern hotel in Hualien with great facilities. The hotel room is spacious, need and the staff is ever so helpful and attentive to our needs.

The breakfast spread was good and it has a small to moderate international buffet spread plus the local breakfast entrees.

Location is also a 10 minute walk to the night market along the Chongqing Road.

Room is big and spacious and it has a balcony that offers a good view of the ocean and mountain. Provides many toiletries for use. WiFi is strong. Breakfast spread is good. It is located at a junction that is not near the main shopping area but rather, it is about 5 mins walk to the night market.

The Deluxe Seaview room that we got upgraded to was fantastic! Not total sea view, but we could see far across the area. Room was super spacious, bed was a super king, and the bathroom came with a spacious standing shower area, a deep bathtub with a full window view, a toilet with a full fledge bidet with warm seat (a real treat in the cold Jan). Breakfast was good, especially if you enjoy porridge. We love the location for its proximity to the local market, and the Nanbin/Beibin Park. Took a taxi to Qixingtan, and the public bus back to Golden Triangle Commerical Circle...pleasant rides. Shiny Ocean provides free shuttle to the train stations, just book in advance. Will stay here again if I come back.
