Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed 2 nights in this cozy boutique hotel. Room is spacious with 2 twin bed, and we can fully open 2 luggages. Clean and new room, toiletries to be collected at the reception. Breakfast is served at B1 via staircase, did not find a lift to B1. 5 mins walk to night market, and 10 mins walk to city eating places. Had dinner at Salt Lick (火车头烤肉店屋)for a change. Found a self service laundry shop nearby. Had coin changing machine and washing powder dispenser at the laundry shop. Just ask the reception for direction.

Location is great, and you are literally minutes away from the night market where you can find the famous grilled soy sweet corn and other ethnic dishes. On the other side, there is the main shopping street where you can find souvenir shops and famous Hualien food like the signature and award winning pineapple tarts. The hotel itself is good but a little dated. The lobby has been updated but the rooms need some loving. Our room had a hole in the wall, and some mold on the bathroom curtains. The room was quite a generous size and there were two comfortable Queen sized beds. There was also a large bathtub, which was nice. There was a nice wooden planking floor but it did make a lot of noise when someone walked on it, especially in the middle of the night if someone needed to use the bathroom. Breakfast was a small spread but had delicious items.

We had a great stay in Les Champs Hualien. It's located on a very nice place, steps away from the night market and from the main avenue with all the restaurants and shops. It's a 10 minutes drive from the station so I really suggest yo stay in this area rather than the station area. Rooms are small but comfortable, service is excellent and breakfast is also pretty good (they even serve the dumplings from a famous restaurant in the city). The only thing I would change is the carpet in the rooms. Overall a great hotel, would definitely stay again.

nothing beats the location of this hotel. it’s right across Hualien’s largest night market, Dong Da Men. it may not have the seaview but it’s just mins walk away from the major shopping street, where shops trading local goodies are gathered, including the infamous Gong Zheng Bao Zi. rooms adopt the minimalism and yet stylish concept and are clean and neat. the hotel lobby is always vibrant with personnels wishing you a good day or gentle reminders to have your jackets in the night to beat the cold winds to offering local tips for shopping and food. best part, they are meticulous in their cleaning for when we left something behind upon checkout, they made the effort to track us for collection. THANK YOU, Hotel Les Champs for making our night’s stay, wonderful.

This hotel is great due to her service and perfect room. You can stay here like home. Overall is good choice when you visit here The famous night market is near here and walk about 2min . You can find local food and feel the fervid Taiwan style at anywhere.

Really convenient for the night market. The hotel is immaculately clean but is really quite soulless. We had a balcony but it was grey in character and not conducive to sitting outside. There is a great little restaurant next door for lunch.

We were three of us staying in the Japanese theme quad rooms for two nights. Rooms: While the room size was just about sufficient the amenities were great. Our room had low comfortable bedding which was perfect. The sitting area became our luggage storage. The toilet had a small bathtub with a Japanese style modern toilet seat. The Wi-Fi is free and fast, we even had a small balcony attached to the room. Location: The hotel is situated two-three minutes’ walk away from the local night market, the main market street being another five minutes’ walk away. Breakfast: Sufficient but not great, did feel it was limited for western taste but realized that is the case in most of the hotels in Taiwan (was the case with us for all our five hotels). They have the standard bread, butter, cereal flakes with cheese missing. There were about eight hot dishes but all of them were of Asian cuisine with about three to four of them being vegetarian. Just, I am not used to having noodles or dumplings for breakfast. They had a good coffee machine offering four-five standard varieties. There is a 24/7 coffee/tea machine at the reception, we made use of it at nights while sitting in the hotel porch area. Staff: Very friendly with a smile on their faces, helping us with direction and umbrellas. The ever-smiling face of the doorman always left us with a pleasant feeling. Considering what we paid for the rooms, it was a bargain.

We stayed here during a Taiwan family roundtrip. We liked this hotel a lot. The hotel is located next to the night market and the shopping area. The hotel has a private (non-guarded) parking lot. The rooms are extremely small but smart designed and therefore functional. Rooms are clean and with a modern design. Pictures on websites match with reality. Great hotel with also a good western selection of food.
