What a gorgeous experience. We were greeted by the lovely owner, Jane, who couldn't be more friendly and helpful. She speaks good English which is always helpful. She showed us to our room on the top floor (which I recommend for the views) which was beautifully decorated and has everything you need. The breakfast was delicious. This is a must ❤️

My wife and I were in Hualien for the evening having visited Taroko National Park for the day before travelling onwards. The B&B is located on the coast though not all rooms have an ocean view, and we picked it partly because of the location also being a short walk from the Dongdamen Night Market. We walked in late afternoon to see a 9.9 Booking.com rating and wondered what it had done to deserve this, and were not disappointed.

Check-in was handled by the manager, Jane, who spoke good English and was extremely helpful. For example, she helped out with pointing out places to eat and when we said that we were going to the Night Market, translated by hand a number of things for us to try when we were over there.

Our room was not only spotlessly clean but immaculately, and I mean immaculately finished with the level of care and attention to detail that someone would attach to their own home. We had to leave shoes outside - a rack inside would be nice - but fine to keep the place clean. In terms of room amenities, there were L'Occitane toiletries that you would normally find in a 5-star resort hotel and Barista style coffee (no 3 in 1 sachets here!). There was even a heater over the shower in case you got cold immediately afterwards and great quiet A/C for use if you were too warm.

Breakfast the following morning only begins at 8 a.m. (later than some places). It is slower than some locations but consists of a lovingly individually prepared breakfast by Jane and her based on choices that you advise the night before and was well worth the wait at a single large breakfast table that you share with the other guests.

Before Sunrise B&B is an outstanding place to stay in Hualien and I would not hesitate to stay there again if we return.

My partner and I stayed for three nights in a mountain view room that was extremely comfortable with great airconditioning.

The homecooked breakfast that was provided was delicious each morning, and Waka the shiba inu was a sweetheart. Jane and her staff were welcoming and gracious and gave us some Hualien treats on arrival and departure.

The train station is about 30 minutes walk away, or a quick ten minute $150 TWD taxi ride away. Dongdamen Night Market is a 10 minute walk away and provides a great Taiwanese night market experience.

We also rented a car so we could drive to Taroko Gorge (around 45 minutes drive away) and there was plenty of street parking around.

I would recommend Before Sunrise B&B to anyone travelling to Hualien.

I’m just writing to say what a beautiful hotel and great room . I also want to thank and give praise to the manager Jane . Jane would have to be the most amazing hotel manager I have ever come across, she went out of her way to help us book the next 3 days of our holidays travelling around Taiwan from ferries to flights to trains and maps of all the best places to eat and visit. I recommend highly we will be back .

We booked the family room with oceanview for 2 nights. There's only 1 room on every floor - Good privacy! We were told to leave our shoes outside the room, it'll be great if a shoe rack were provided at the entrance.

Our room is beautifully decorated with modern furnishings, a hi-tech bathroom with controls for ventilation, drying, sensor toilet bowl etc. The full glass windows offer an awesome view of the Pacific Ocean just opposite our room. It's relaxing to sit in the balcony watching the sea waves and on a Saturday morning, watching the marathoners run by. A pity there was no sunrise viewable during our visit due to the gloomy skies. Our room definitely has the best sunrise view! Simply walk across the road and take a stroll along the Pacific Ocean anytime - it's safe and peaceful...

Breakfast is tastefully prepared by Jane (owner) and her mum respectively on the 2 days of our stay. Each serving is prettily arranged and appetizing... Both Jane and her mum are very friendly and voluntarily offer many recommendations for places to eat and things to do in Hualien.

The highlight of our stay is Jane's pet- Waka, an adorable shiba inu who is tame and fun to play with. My boys were all mesmerized by her!

A B&B which offers 6 star services and stunning sea view at the coast of Hualien. The hostel is very new and beautifully decorated. We had a sea view room with a balcony where we could sit there for the sunrise and sunset. The breakfast provided is 6 star - tasty and nicely placed. The host Jane just makes things perfect by her warm hospitality and beautiful smile. We all love to come back again. Keep up the services!

We visited after the big earthquake happened in Hualien. So there were a lot of shops and restaurants closed.
They were renovating some rooms which didn’t disturb us but it smelled like paint.

The host Jane was very friendly and sweet helping us with information on where to go and get food and what to see.

The rooms were amazing! It was very cool stylish and modern! The only problem the TV was broken. We told this to Jane and she wanted to change the TV but unfortunately the other TVs were attached to the wall. But she offered to change room, which we didn’t want to because our room was so nice.

My wife and I spent three days here at the end of November. We stayed in a 1BR on the fifth floor, which has a great view of the ocean.

This bed and breakfast was great - very new, modern, and clean. Beautiful finishes and design. The location was convenient to the night market and for exploring Hualien.

Jane was a wonderful host. She was very friendly and helpful. She knows the area and gave a lot of good advice.

I would definitely recommend Before Sunrise.

Newly opened and well furnished, the owner Jane is very nice and provided heart-warming service. The room is equipped with a sea-front shower tub and a large balcony to enjoy the beautiful seaview and sunset. Located near the night market. Good water temperature and pressure. Lift was avaliable so no worry abt the luggages, car could be parked outside for free. Clean and stylish room. Nice breakfast. Worth the price.

My fiancé and I stayed here for one night. The property has a great view of the ocean, easily walkable to the night market and city life, and is on point with its amenities -- clean, comfortable, modern nautical themed with gigantic windows for ocean views -- for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Jane is super helpful too -- she knew exactly where we could rent an ebike and arranged for a pick up, gave our next BNB a call to make sure they knew when we were arriving, and helped us get tour info. Her English is superb, too! All in all, Before Sunrise is highly recommended.
