Wife and I came here for our anniversary. It's way off the beaten path...small roads to get there. Outside of any major city. It is exactly 1 hour from the Taipei 101. When we checked in the front desk clerk did not want to speak English, but started to after a little encouragement. We stayed in a romantic villa. One large queen bed. It was quite expensive, so I was very shocked at the condition of the room. Under-maintained would be the proper way to put it. The wallpaper was coming up, random nails, screws and wires sticking out of the wall. Weird stains here and there. Very disappointing. It had it's own small "private" pool. It wasn't quite private though. You could see the second floor lodge and the rooms above too. Not private. There is a public pool but the hours it is available are pretty ridiculous. Not very many times you can use it, and you have to wear a ridiculous swim cap. There are some beautiful birds in cages along a small path as well as a large pond that runs through most of the property. They have bicycles you can use for free (but everything is very far away) I'm not sure where you would want to ride them to. There just isn't enough on the property to do to really be able to call this a "resort." The restaurant was very delicious for dinner, but not so much for breakfast. For what we paid for this place, it wasn't near worth it.

Ducks, fish, non-heated outdoor pool, parrots and bikes. The place is a good one day stay for elementary school children. I say one day because beyond that, the kids will probabily be bored out of their mind. Its a pity not much more is done to make the swamps and small greenary behind the hotel a more friendly walk path for visitors. The rooms are more like B&B's and with significant expansion to the hotel, we think the overall "resort" feel will turn out to me more like a commercial hotel with all the extra hotel guests. The place simply is not large enough to feel like a "resort" This is is good place to stay if you are looking for fun on a budget.

I think its absolutely unfair that such a great place gets such a low ranking on TA!
I wouldnt have considered this place at all due to its low ranking (i usually only go for top 20), if i hadnt met the owners at a roadshow.

They unreservedly offered me suggestions and directions when i was just asking about transport and general stuff about Yilan, with no obligations. He even gave me his number, so i can feel free to ask him any further questions, if i have any. All these when i have not even booked my tickets!

Our top priority was our toddler, so when i asked if they could cook some porridge for him twice a day and i would pay, the boss very generously and immediately replied that he would do it for free!
Compare that to another top 10 hotel who didnt want to do it despite having an onsite restaurant.
Thus we finally decided to give this hotel a try, a bit apprehensively at first i must say.

But boy, was i pleasantly surprised!
The owner personally helped me get train tickets from yilan to taitung, when i couldnt get the timings i need.
There was some miscommunication, and his wife had to book and rebook the tickets, even though she was on vacation!

When we had baggage delay, their staff took initiative to communicate with the airport staff and courier on my behalf, even though i am proficient in the Chinese language.
They made multiple calls to make sure my baggage gets delivered before we leave for another city. They were also very quick to attend to any request and appear at my door with whatever thats needed whenever i called, even when its raining.

Due to the baggage delay, we reached close to 8pm for dinner at their restaurant, but no one complained or even mentioned that the restaurant is supposed to close at 8pm!
We had a great relaxing meal at the on site restaurant where you can see fishes swimming beneath! It was an awesome respite from the bad day we had from the long hours of travel to the delay and jam.

The owner instructed the chefs to prepare different types of porridge for my son for every meal, and even drove us to the town central a few times (they provide free transport to luodong town area), this coming from an owner of a 50 room property! His wife personally plays the guzhen now and then during breakfast, oh and they have live music some days during dinner time!

The rooms were big and clean, my son had fun climbing the stairs and running around.
There are 3 tvs, one upstairs one downstairs, and even one you can watch while in the hot spring tub!
We saw stars just above our bed, when we opened the retractable roof in our room.

We love the quaint and rustic feel of this place, with dogs and cats, ducks and fishes, chickens and parrots. In fact, because my son wasnt feeling too well, we only went out of the hotel in the late afternoons, yet we felt that this place had everything we need, whether its a hot meal, a hot soak or bath, or just leisurely feeding fishes and ducks and exploring around with our toddler.

I believe the only reason why their rating is not higher is probably because with 50 rooms to handle compared to a 3room b&b, guests may not have the chance to have much interaction with the owners and hence cannot feel their hospitality or sincerity as much.
But to lucky me who got to know them right from the start, the owners have been nothing short of amazing, they are humble and very welcoming, genuinely sincere!

This is definitely a good base for young families and the place we would return to, when we come to Yilan again!

a five star facilities hotel with budget prices. staying here with a best friend recommendations , I've a truly home in Yilan, good service since check in, big space room (depend on your reservation/bookings category) and good atmosphere in room. Very human touch on every single details in the room.

Breakfast need to improving with added 2 or 3 items on main course. I loved the restaurant situation which you can enjoy a live traditional instruments and big river with the fish and duck

Recommend for family traveller to stay in here for two nites .

Stayed just one night. The room and the bathroom was very clean and spacious. Cool and nice private massage bath tub in the bathroom. Nothing much can do here except enjoying our self inside this beautiful room. Limited breakfast menu but Braised Pork Rice was delicious. Environment here is very good with fresh air.

Stayed for a night, service is relatively good, room & bathroom are spacious. One thing to take note here is Mosquitoes, be sure to bring insect repellent or mosquito patch. Be quick to close your door when you enter the room else one or two mozzies may follow.

There's a massage bathtub to use, may be a little complicated as there are many functions to check out. There is free wifi too.

In my opinion, there is nothing much to do, more of a stay and go the next day kind of resort. Breakfast spread is very limited, it's more like their local's food. Do not expect an international buffet. More of like home-made sandwiches and porridge.

There are bicycle rentals too. Basically not much to do here..

Stayed for 2.5 days & 2 nights in 2 different type of rooms at Jun 2015. The villa and the bubble room. Breakfast, dinner are not bad. Very good experience there and looking for another visit. They should have a new and big restaurant and more rooms at the year of 2016.

The size of this B&B is like a resort, with big area for children, they can cycling, swimming, firecracker or visit nearby farms. The garden, the pool, the lotus pool nearby and the animals make this B&B looks great.

The location of the B&B is near the Luo Dong night market, travel by car is fast.

Room service should be the common room service of B&B at Yilan - environmental conservation. No extra number of pillows or towel will be provided. The rate at weekdays is fine to me. Worth one of the top 20 B&B at Yilan.

"If you are traveling in the summer, I suggest to arrive at 2pm, the hotel is pretty strict on check in times and during the summer, its is just too hot to go any where on the grounds. We ended up waiting in the cafeteria for 3 hours with a 22 month old toddler. It was extremely stressful."
