Beautiful staff, lovely villa, amazing view. We loved the eco-boutique style of the resort. The staff could not do more to make our stay wonderful. The spa is very special with its view. The attention to detail with the rooms including the wooden sinks and reclaimed wood around the resort was tasteful.

Suarga means heaven in English, and the experience of being there was exact that: heavenly.
Vacation for us is to be surrounded by an environment that makes you feel well and relaxed and as well taken care of. Suarga was like a dreamy paradise with its calm vibes and magnificent views over the ocean.

The staff were amazing, we felt incredibly well taken care of by everyone, so warm and welcoming! Liz took care of us from our arrival until the day we left, so professional in her approach and so genuinely caring.

Thomas was also very welcoming and sincere in his approach to us, and you could really feel his genuine enthusiasm about the hotel’s approach to sustainability and its history when talking to him.

The devil is in the details, Mr Silvano the GM always approached us with our names and was also so warm and helpful. You could really feel the familiar vibe amongst the staff, because of their genuine interest in their guests. To summarize, we are so impressed of the service we received during our 5 days at Suarga and felt extremely well taken care of.

The hotel is very cozy and the recycle mindset is present. From far is the best hotel I've stayed in uluwatu area. The best swimming pool view that I know from a hotel in uluwatu.
Besides that, I would like to recognize Danny, a friendly employee from hotel, always prompt to help and with a big smile in the face, it was a pleasure to meet him.
We've stayed in two differrent rooms, and even the standard was very good (with a small bed in the mezzanine, that me and me wife had a greatfull nap during some rain period and the rain "noise" was soo good there, that is a wonderful remember).
I fully reccomend the hotel, If you not drive motorbike they have a lot of contacts of local drivers and the hotel is so good located, that you can go by walking for several restaurants and stores (this is a difficult thing in uluwatu, and i think this is another big advantage of the hotel).
The pool view is front of Padang Padang beach and impossibles. You can also see in the horizont Dreamland Beach.

I like this place.

Great view. Must be nearly a 180 degree vista.

Very quiet at present (obviously).

However, one aspect winds me up…..

Water.

Most places here you get a glass of water on sitting down…from a 6 star hotel to a little cafe: I nearly always get a glass. I order coffee and as I find it a bit strong I like to add a dash of water.

Can I have even a tiny dribble of water at the bottom of glass at Suarga? No.

They want you to buy a big bottle of their own water.

This will be water they have run through a filter at very very little cost to them.

Hi, can I please just have a little shot of water from dispenser - no. Buy a big bottle.

The ridiculous thing is: if I ordered an espresso I can have a small glass of water.

I have a long black - so I have to buy a big bottle.

This is plainly ridiculous. The price is the same.

Ludicrous. Its the same amount of coffee.

Name me another place on the island that refuses you a small drop of water but forces you to buy 750ml of overpriced filtered water?

I have explained this a few times: staff will not waver on it.

I just want about half a shot glass.

Crazy. I have to meet a business partner here sometimes. Otherwise I won’t go anymore, that’s a lot of money lost over a few drops of water……

Response from Management Suarga Padang Padang, Owner at Suarga Padang Padang
Responded 28 Nov 2021
Dear Mr , The island of Bali and its people are going through a very difficult time. Many resorts, hotels , home stays and restaurants are closed , we however as a support to our staff decided to stay operational even we are running at a substantial loss since now almost 2 years. About our Water, first we do not run our water as you mention through a cheap filter system. We have our nominated bottling service since 5 years. They clean and bottle our recycled Suarga blue bottles which we over the years collected as part of our sustainability program. The natural spring water bottling happens near Tabanan where we upgrade the water through a Japanese Kangen filter process to become alkaline +/- pH 8.0 - 8.2 as a target. The benefits of Ionized Alkaline water you can read on the internet which by the way you used the complete afternoon with 3 consuming barely anything enjoying the view , our service and our lounge. Suarga has normally a minimum spend policy of 200 000 Idr++ per person which during normal times we do not have to enforce since our regular guests know if they come to Suarga as any other luxury places that the establishment considers this practice as common sense. Due to the difficult times and the understandable low spending power on the Island, since the regular tourist can not travel to Bali, we show flexibility to the local community and anyone is more then welcome , we however request at least the guest is spending and not just comes here to use our internet , our service and our lounge to have a "business meeting". Suarga is not a business centre , there are other places we can suggest you for this. We were reported of the incident where you became very rude to our loyal waiter Silah. Shame on you in these hard times to insult our Balinese staff whom just asked your guests to consume as well which only after over an hour they finally did order a soft drink and a juice. The total spending of 3 guests was reported to be 180 000 Idr including service and tax 21% enjoying a full afternoon business meeting till late in our establishment. As to the coffee pricing. An establishment as Suarga asks in normal times 50 000 - 60 000 Idr for a coffee depending the type which due to the situation has been halved to 25 000 - 29 000 Idr. These prices are similar to the coffee shops in the Uluwatu street , these establishments do not run infrastructure costs as we endure neither enjoy the location. As to come back on the water. Yes during normal times we give a glass of water for free as is common practice with a coffee service. We however decided to bill the water since we had guests just coming to enjoy our internet , our view, our service and our lounge drinking just a glass of water. Our loyal waiter decided to explicitly ask to order a bottle of water, this due to the fact your other guests initially did not want to consume at all and acted in a rude manner to him. We hope to have clarified our position on your comments. Kind regards, Suarga Guardians

We really loved our stay here. The property is really unique and pampers the guests from the time we arrive until we left. The views are stunning and everywhere you look, the scenery is breathtaking. The rooms are gorgeous with comfortable beds, amazing bathrooms and were very quiet. We had Ocean View Ulin Pavillion 11 which had beautiful views and never heard any noises. Splurge on the ocean view! We used our outdoor patio each morning and evening.. so peaceful.
The staff was so friendly and accommodating.
The breakfast buffets were very, very good and plenty of choices. However, the coffee was quite weak and unsatisfying.
We ate dinner twice at the hotel because the food was really good and the service/views were unsurpassed by any other restaurant around. However, the prices were really, really high compared to the area. The bar prices as well were very high.
The nearby beach of Padang Padang was very crowded and not so clean even though it is really pretty. Over time, it has become very touristy and lacks charm because of the crowds. The hotels price for a car to the airport was double of what a taxi driver charges on the street. We opted to find a local driver and paid half.
There is not much to do in the surrounding town nor much to walk to (all on a busy street with limited shops and restaurants), so if you are looking to just stay at the resort, unwind, relax and enjoy a beautiful boutique hotel, this is it!

The experience with this hotel had been underwhelming to say the least. I hope after reading this review you will save yourself some time.
VILLAS. The villas are made of wooden bricks and it is an “open” concept. There is clear lack of furniture. In the bedroom there is only bed, there is no table or bedside table, no tv, no phone. This arrangement makes it impossible for any room service. You basically will end up eating on the bed. There is no climate control. AC is barely working and you will get overheated the room is always ~26-30C. Besides, AC is installed right at the head of the bed-neck pain guaranteed.
SERVICE. Is extremely subpar. The room service takes 1hr+. Upon our arrival the room service took 1hr20mins, meanwhile they notified us it’s 20-40 mins. At the breakfast it took 1 hour to deliver our order, not only to us but all of the guests. I could see many complaints. The quality of the food is rather terrifying. The first breakfast I found piece of plastic(black plastic bag) in my food! Upon complaining no reaction came from staff or management. In general the food is not seasoned, some pieces taste foul, bitter and spoiled.
Moreover, I have requested maintenance to be sent to check why AC is working so low, the reception confirmed sending someone, no one ever came.
The pools are not cleaned, monkey poop can be floating or laying around pool area all day.
There were so many other things wrong and it was only 2 days we stayed there. We cut our stay short of 8 days when checking out we were never asked why we are checking out earlier or how was the stay. This place does NOT care about their guests and you will be left upset and running away looking for options. The hotel is a bad mojo, they were also rude to our driver, didn’t let him wait for us in an empty parking spot, caused him to scratch the car with faulty entry instructions. For the price you pay there is NO comfort whatsoever.

Beautiful place to stay in a great location in Uluwatu close to many beaches and restaurants. The restaurant and cocktails were the best that we had our whole stay and this is undoubtedly one of the best sunset spots on the peninsula. Our room was beautiful and i really appreciated the focus on sustainability with their unique over-the-bed air conditioning system and daily supply of filtered water in glass bottles. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful in arranging transfers and scooter hire. We can't wait to come back

The room was beautiful. The grounds and facilities were spectacular and our room looking out over the ocean was in a divine location. So in that regard, it was a flawless experience.

The proximity to the road and all the shops and restaurants etc was great.

I thought the food and drink and general service at the resort was stupidly expensive and frankly, it was pretty poor anyway. We spent over AUD$350 one night and had a better experience spending AUD$25 at Warung Local up the road the next night. Doing things like charging a “room service fee” to bring a can of coke poolside is just greedy and unnecessary (one of many greedy and uneccessaries).

The breakfast was also trash.

Once I got my head around not eating/drinking at the resort we had a great time.

Just a caveat to say that the staff themselves were beautiful and doing their best as always.

We were such big fans of Suarga Padang Padang, we extended our honeymoon stay an extra night! Love the eco-friendly luxury design (including refillable glass water bottles and solar powered rooms) and gorgeous infinity pool. We enjoyed our very generous and delicious breakfasts with excellent service and beautiful views. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful - Liz and Thomas were always around to help with anything you need.

You are also steps away from great restaurants and Padang Padang beach, where the staff were kind enough to arrange a surf lesson for us there (would also highly recommend). The resort had a refreshing mix of younger couples (ourselves included) and families.

We look forward to staying here again soon!

Hi, Sorry, I cannot comment on the Muso Suites as I stayed in a Villa. However, hot water was always available. There weren’t any bugs or mosquitoes, but there were centipedes, and I might have seen 1 or 2 lizards in the garden. Monkeys visit the main pool early in the morning, as they move from Padang Padang beach to another location each day. It sounds like you have some specific needs that the rooms may not provide. I suggest querying these concerns with the hotel. The Manager will be very helpful and honest, as will all the team. They are lovely. It’s an eco friendly resort at the end of the day, so perhaps a more franchised option might suite your needs better.
