The Gong is my Second Home. Every time I go to Bali - this is where I stay. The rooms are clean and nice. The pool is clean. The food is really good. It is close to a other good places to eat and Bobbies market is just up the street if you need snacks like chips and ice cream.... More

My friends and I stayed here for our first few nights in Bali. The family is so nice! We loved Winnie! The pool is nice, they bring you breakfast and Bintangs and whatever else you need. Rooms are basic but cheap- 150k a night. Close to single fin and uluwatu beach and the temple on the cliff. Couldn't ask for... More

We have been going to Bali for years now and we always dine at The Gong. It is not glamerous but the food is always good. The average price for a main meal is about 25,000Rp to 35,000Rp ( $2.50-3.50 Au dollars) and the menu is based around fresh produce. Their fish dishes are wonderful! Staff are great. Highly recommended.

First time to Bali and many friends recommended Uluwatu area and The Gong. Nice clean hostel with a pool and staff was very friendly. Free WiFi that worked good. No A/C in my unit. They will bring you a nice breakfast in the morning or you can walk right across the street to a full restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and... More

Hugely recommend the gong - the staff were amazing, the breakfast burrito was the best I've ever had! (Seriously try it) The rest of the food was just as good too (but pretty standard like other homestay's around Bali). By far my best experience with a homestay, when we were there we got a discount cause the restaurant wasn't finished,... More

Dirtiest bathroom I've seen, didn't even throw away an old razor that was left in the shower. Insects on the floor/near the bed. Staff seemed careless and only sometimes friendly enough. No idea why it has such good reviews...Maybe surfers don't care (it IS close to Uluwatu Beach!)? Breakfast was good but relatively expensive, rest of food (lunch/dinner) terrible.

It could be so good, but it has seen better days. The staff are lovely as ever, but the rooms are not mossie proof. Slats in the windows (which don't lock) and no mossie nets. I have had dengue fever twice and am quite nervous about a third bout. Cockroaches crawling over us at night, not good. The place could... More

Don't hesitate to come here. There is a nice pool, it's close to the surfspot of Uluwatu, friendly people, clean rooms. If you come with at least 4 people defenatily ask for the penthouse room! It will get you the best sundown of the neighbourhood.

Incredibly warm hearted staff with beautiful souls. The rooms are clean, pool is refreshing, location is perfect (beaches and temple bery near), scooter rentals, and of course FUN surf lessons are a must do. Do not pass through Uluwatu without experiencing this wonderful space.
