My husband and I stayed at Onaya Resort for 5 nights to attend a wedding in Uluwatu.
Our flight was very delayed and we arrived at 10pm in the evening, but the night guard was lovely and showed us to our room. We officially checked in with the reception team the following day, and were added to a whatsapp chat so that we could take advantage of the free driver.
Our room (Water 1) was directly next to the pool. Although our room was quite easy to see into by passing guests, we didn’t mind keeping our curtains open during the day if we were in our room, but ensured that they were closed at night. The mosquito net around the bed is great and we slept peacefully each night. There is also international powerpoints next to each side of the bed, so we didn’t need to use adaptors.
The bathroom is a little different to what we have been used to, with an almost open air shower. One evening we had a frog in the sink, which initially was a big surprise, but when my husband reminded me that he would eat any mosquitos I came around to the idea, we didn’t see him again and assume he jumped out the way he came in. The shower water pressure is very low, so something to keep in mind if strong showers are key for you.
The breakfast each morning was tasty, with generous servings and a relaxing atmosphere. We utilised the Grab app every day for taxis, as the location of Onaya is a little further away from the popular spots (and the free driver is booked up quickly), but Onaya is obviously much cheaper than hotels in the thick of it.
We had a great time at the El Kabron dayclub, really enjoyed our dinners at Mason and Yuki, and had stunning views at Abracadabra restaurant.
The team at Onaya are lovely, with a special shout out to the driver and Ari from the reception team.

Easy peasy shuttle services and the kindest staff who booked us massages and recommended wicked places to visit. We booked directly with them as per one offer they did in Instagram. In any case check Booking.com and directly in their websites as I believe is always cheaper booking directly with them.

We stayed 5 nights at Onaya and wish it had been so much longer. From the moment we arrived we were struck by the how friendly, attentive and genuine the staff were.
The resort is a perfect size that balances seclusion with areas to meet fellow travellers if you want. A private and secure place providing a luxury pool area and beautifully lush grounds.
The villas are simple and stylish. Comfortable bed, filter water to drink and some cool design features. The outlook from Sky Villas was just heavenly.
Food was exceptional - fresh, healthy and great choices. We ate by our villa, pool side and in the restaurant.
Onaya is a good base for exploring Uluwatu and Isco ( courtesy driver) was always contactable via the WhatsApp group to drop and collect us.
There was some light construction taking place however the team did their best to provide warnings of noise and did what they could to minimise this.
Recommend the many day beach clubs in the area, Single Fin Bar and the Kecak Performance at the Temple was amazing!
Shout outs for Debby and the team from bar, restaurant, cleaning, driving and operations. This was a 5 star experience. See you next year!

We had the most wonderful time staying in the beautiful Onaya resort, the staff are excellent and looked after us as if we were family. They organized scooters last minute for us and have an awesome free chauffeur service to drop you locally if needed. It’s a great location and close to some great bars and restaurants, but you feel like you are deep in the jungle in the peace and quiet.

AMAZING staff! Thank you so much Debbie and team. I particularly enjoyed the little attention to detail with the welcome pack of under eye gel masks, and whenever I was by the pool they asked if I needed water or offered a bit of fruit. The breakfast was delicious !!! Don’t hesitate, just book!

They have Breakfast, lunch, and dinner available, and they’re so helpful with recommendations! Found the cutest spots thanks to them. For us the shuttle was not really a thing as we were driving motorbike but if you don’t even in the most centric hotels I don’t recommend walking as there’s no place for that and is dangerous. Ah! Make sure you check the prices in their website as for what I saw it was cheaper than in any other platforms.

Loved how they recommended the best spots to check out! The WhatsApp group is such a cool idea to get breakfast in bed or ask for anything. Plus, the free shuttle was a mega bonus!. As a recommendation book directly in their website because is the best price.

Lovely and very chilled hotel. Great choice on the breakfast menu. Accommodation was lovely as was the bathroom. Only negative was the air conditioning, the mosquito net probably stopped it working at it's full capacity, so was a little warm. Debbie the manager was extremely friendly and helpful. The pool and garden was lovely. The shuttle car was very handy for a trip into town or nearby beach. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

A tranquil paradise! So relaxing. Amazing pool. Breakfast included is amazing. Friendly staff you really feel special. The best perk might be the shuttle. Very nice not having to rely on grab. Also you text the hotel with anything you need!
