My husband and I chose Beachbreaks for a 3 night stay on the East Coast. This is a self contained small 2 bedroom house which is on a rise overlooking farmland, a vineyard and the ocean in the distance. It does feel like you are living in a remote area of Tassie in your own home when staying here so I can see why it has appealed to others. For me it is a little too remote and by that I mean it is at least a 15 minute drive to anywhere. This means that you need to be prepared with all your meals. Although in the fridge was a loaf of bread, a carton of milk and condiments, which was very thoughtful. The view is lovely, the woodwork throughout is rustic, the kitchen very adequate and the heating works well. The bathroom is near the entrance and contains the laundry, no ensuite here. There was also a lot of tiny centipedes and slaters wandering around the bathroom at night and dead on the floor in the morning. The closest town is Dunally with a couple of good cafes and a hotel. I can see why Beachbreaks appeals to certain people but I think I am just over the whole "self Contained" thing when provisions are not close by or easy to get.…
Our latest stay at Beachbreaks[Bungalow] was probably visit No 12 or 13, yet we still get the same sense that we got when we first saw this little gem of accomodation in Tassie. Dave and Steph still the best hosts that you could encounter, and I'd like to think good friends, which makes our stays even more enjoyable. Perfectly clean Bungalow, Steph's "home made" native garden, Dave's self light B.B.Q ,pristine beaches, and day trips we haven't seen yet. All ensures a great holiday. Can't add to that, except if you haven't tried it, try to!
We found this gem in Tassie 7 years ago and look forward to a revisit each year. The cleanliness and attention to detail does not falter. Those views from "the bungalow" are stunning. Top it off with lovely owners and it makes for a serene, delightful break from city life.
My wife and I just came back from a trip to Tasmania, spent 5 nights at Beackbreaks in Marion Bay. I cant recommend this place more both David and Stephanie were great, we stayed at the retreat and we couldnt have asked for a more beautiful, comfortable place with a stunning view of the surrounding country side, mountains and Marion bay. All facilities were provided, the retreat itself is amazing, decks out front to relax and take in the view, so quiet and relaxing all you can hear is the finches and wrens singing. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
The bungalow is by far our favourite place to stay in Tassie. Tasmania is beautiful, the views and environs of Beachbreaks make the most of it. This was our 6th stay and are booked in for next year. The quality and cleanliness has never faulted. Dave and Steph are delightful hosts with a passion for where they live.
Just arrived home after 5 days at Beachbreaks and we are missing it already...can't say enough about the location the views were wonderful and the countryside surrounded us...although the hosts were close by and had thoughtfully thought of so many little extras....we felt as if we were miles from anyone and anywhere...just the perfect place to escape from city living. Must also mention that the accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Thanks so much...Peter & Sandra
Just returned from 8th trip and things are still pristine, the hosts terrific, and the Bungalow clean as a whistle, per usual. Fish biting in the creek, and not little stuff either. It is just a peaceful a place as we would want to spend a holiday. Whoever is up there knows a good thing. During the terrible fires last year, the front was heading straight for Beachbreaks, and at the last minute the wind changed and saved Steph and Daves property. We can only be thankful for that. Superlatives are not enough for this beautiful, secluded place. The sweeping views from just about every room is just breathtaking and the cardens are magnificent. It is fully equipped with everything you could need and is the epitome of cleanliness. It's obviously very much loved and cared for by its hosts who ensure that your stay is perfect while at the same time not being intrusive. A true gem!
Going back again shortly, cannot wait for the peace and quiet of this marvel of a place. Last visit had fishing trip with Dave[owner] and hooked onto 3 kg Black Bream in about 10 min. No, not out at sea in a boat, in Bream Creek, 5 min away.. Still discovering new places to visit in vicinity, and it just keeps on getting better. Everything in the Bungalow works, and cleanliness is supurb. It is the sort of holiday destination that you know everything is going to be perfect when you arrive.
When you want to get away from it all and recharge, this is the perfect place. Excellent standard, style and comfort and perfect hosts. You will feel you are home in your own little world with magnificent views. Everything spotlessly clean and fresh and obviously lovingly created and cared for. Bliss!
