We stayed here for just over a week in Jan 2020 and we absolutely loved it, it is a small peaceful hotel with all the rooms facing the pool, this makes it very sociable and you often get chatting to other guests which we really enjoyed. The staff are great, Air is brilliant receptionist and helped us loads during our trip with recommendations for the best massage and even going out of her way to help us track down a lost credit card, thank you so much. The manager was also nice but seemed like he had a lot to deal with and we did find him a little bit angry at times. Rooms are spacious and clean and with small kitchenette which we found really useful. The location is perhaps the only slight let down, it is just off a busy road and even though its close to all the other shops you are just a bit removed from the other tourist stuff by the beach and can be a bit noisy at night. It does feel peaceful once you come off the road though and into the resort. The beach is great for kids (we had a 3yr old with us) and beautiful sunsets.
We loved it here and would definitely recommend, thank you

Just coming to the end of our 10 night stay here and I can honestly say it’s been perfect
Room is ideal for us , pool is on our doorstep.
Breakfast is a 5 minute journey away courtesy of a free shuttle
Beach is a 10 minute walk if you fancy a stroll or once again the reception will drop you off and pick you up
Local bars on your doorstep
Forget the negative reviews , this is Thailand , this is a little piece of paradise.
Thankyou kamala tropical garden

There have been other reviews written by members of the 21st party gathering in July and now I'll add mine.
We were the last to arrive, so everyone else had well and truly settled in. The Hotel had arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport (for the normal fee) and that went by smoothly, even though it was dark, the rain had started and we had no idea where we were headed. We arrived at Kamala and were warmly greeted, both by our party and the owner, Jim. We were shown to our room and we quickly settled in. The room (#8) was spacious, clean and cool and had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. The fridge was larger than normal, so we could actually buy goodies to snack on through the day or prepare light meals in the small kitchenette.
Each room fronted onto the pool, so for the group it was perfect. We could meet, chat, swim, laze or escape to our own private room. Once inside the room with the doors closed you could hardly hear any noise from the pool area so it did not impact on afternoon naps. The pool itself was a little highlight, well kept and big enough for our party as well as a few other guests who had arrived during our stay.
The bar/dining room located at the front of the property was a great meeting place, with nice cold beers served anytime you asked. Jim had also arranged the 21st celebrations and he and the staff provided a great banquet feast of Thai food and then went that little extra with great balloons and creating a little dance floor area...all was much appreciated and many thanks to Jim and the staff for making it so.
The Hotel itself is centrally located and it was a short walk to great massages (try BaBa Massage on the walk to the beach, the girls are fantastic), Kamala Beach and other trinket type shops. There is also a good supermarket nearby (The Big C) as well as other eating and drinking places. All in all we were well catered for during our stay.
A little treat was heading up to The Deck for breakfast on our last morning...apparently also owned by the Hotel, who provided the tuk tuk transport up to this delightful little eatery set in the trees, overlooking picturesque Kamala Beach.
All in all it was a great intro to our Thailand Holiday and many thanks to Jim and his staff for making it so. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Despite having a confirmed booking on check in I was told the room I booked was ‘full’ for my first night and I was told I could cancel my 5 day booking by the obnoxious, argumentative owner who actually wanted me to cancel because he wanted to rent the room at a higher rate than I’d paid.
His staff took me to an appalling room used by staff/migrant workers. I refused to stay and spent 2 hours searching around Kamala but could not find an empty room anywhere due to it being New Year.
I had no choice but stay in the disgusting room that you wouldn’t pay 300b to stay in. To make matters worse the owner told me I’d have to pay the full room rate 2550b. A total joke. He would not listen to reason and also told me I had to pay in cash!!
I’ve stayed here 20+ times under the previous UK owner/Manager and everything was great.
The new owner has zero business sense and was totally unreasonable about the situation. I contacted booking.com who compensated me for the full amount of the first night stay.

The hotel is right on the main road of Kamala yet the rooms are set back a little which meant no traffic noise, once inside the hotel room and swimming pool area you wouldnt know the you were in the heart of Kamala town.
rooms were spacious and nice.
we will be booking again for are next trip in march.

Spent six nights here in February and had a most pleasant stay. It's like a little oasis once you enter off the main Kamala road.
I had an apartment tucked away in the corner which was ideal. Everything you could possibly need...well stocked fridge, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, powerful shower and a pool just steps away.
Staff were friendly especially the manager Paul who was very informative and always went out of his way to say hello.
Location wise..great !
Beach is about a 10 minute walk but I just hired a moped for the week which worked our around £5 per day.
Free shuttle to the Deck restaurant every morning for breakfast or if you lie in there's a nice little coffee shop next door to KTG which serves breakfast too.
7 Eleven nearby for just about everything!
Nice selection of bars just outside the complex on Kamala Road and down towards the beach.
Book well in advance in high season as this place is very sought after.

Surely this is a great place to stay in Kamala. On the main road but peaceful and quiet once you enter the compound. Friendly staff and nice room.
Great for families with kids. But if you are alone or a couple you may have to take it easy and get over crying babies next door at night or kids splashing and jumping in the poolball day. Or you look for a more quiet place altogether.
But we liked our stay and the proximity to several restaurants and shops. The beach was a bit further walk than we expected but no big deal.

This hotel is located in Kamala, which is about 10 kms from Patong. Its a nice and quiet area that has some good bars and hotels on the main highway that passes through. The hotel is tucked into one of the streets leading inside from the main highway. The entrance is somewhat discreet but is not difficult to locate. Reception is at the entrance and is manned by two able people. A lady works the day shift while a guy takes care of the night shift. Both are really helpful and can communicate well.

We reached the place at around 9 pm, after a heavy night in Koh Phangan and a day long journey from Koh Samui. The rooms were ready and looked just as they are in the photos that are put by the hotel management, right down to the color of furniture and of curtains. Fridge was stocked up with beverages and some snacks. An oven and a kettle did great service over the next 5 days. Air conditioning was functioning perfectly and the linens were fresh There is a TV in every room but we seldom used it when we were there. My only complaint is that in one of the rooms, ceiling fan was positioned away from the bed and it caused some inconvenience while sleeping.

Swimming pool is quite big and is clean. Its right at the center of the property and all rooms are positioned around it. Easy access is the definite advantage but some part of the pool would be visible from the rooms. The best part is that the pool is open most of the time and that is certainly a good thing as a nice dip after a long day will definitely help relax. Bathrooms were clean and the room was cleaned whenever we requested for it.

I interacted with both Jim and Paul who were available in the evenings. The beach is ten minutes from the place but we didn't try it out. There are quite a number of eateries and bars on the main road and all of them are at a walking distance. This compensates for the absence of an in-house restaurant. I wish that one will be added soon to make it complete. I will recommend this place for people who are looking for a good place in a quiet location. Patong is around 10 kms from here and the drive is quite scenic. It passes through a forest area and the terrain is hilly. One will definitely need a bike/car to reach Patong.

Pros:
Nice place, has a warm vibe. Great pool and garden. Superb housekeeping and reception staff. Cleanliness is very good.
Good quality shower and sleep. Location on main road yet no sound to bother you when you sleep.

Cons:
Just good for sleep and swim. Do not expect to book tours etc. They will rip you off by charging UpTo 3 times higher. Just book things in many a small shops all over Kamala or anyplace in Phuket. We had a bad experience with Paul the manager and the owner was kind enough to intervene and help. Still we paid higher than others in the same tour who had booked from small agency shops on the street (difference of 10$ or 350baht per person is what we ended up paying; originally Paul charged us 1500baht per person more than the price, which was brought down when I showed them that others were charging far less money)

Unless you are looking for a kitchen where you can cook, avoid their rooms in Taosha suites- they have no support staff, and anything you may want will take a lot of time to be done as Paul is not accessible and reception there works only for a few hours during off season (however main Kamal premises have support staff till late hours). Our AC was not working and we emailed Paul at 7am and he didn't have the alternate room ready even by 8pm.

Overall: still a great place I would go back and stay, cause there is indeed something very nice about this place. :-)

My family of 6 stayed here for our first visit to Phuket. It was a lovely hotel, with just a few rooms, a great pool, and walking distance to everything you might need. The room had a small kitchen, was bigger than we expected, and it was in a very quiet location. The staff was very helpful, and booked a tour for us that was far cheaper than if we had done it on our own. The beach was about a ten minute walk away. The only thing I might mention is that you can't flush the toilet paper. We would stay there again.

Hello and Thanks for taking the time to write a review here on TripAdvisor. Glad you thought it was a great hotel and yes a small one as we only have 16 rooms which for me it’s what makes the place. Great to see the staff where very helpful booking and organising tours for you for a cheaper rate. Regarding the toilet paper your right you can’t flush it down the toilet as this is a small island, even places in Europe have this method. Would welcome you back again on your next visit, until then take care. Kind Regards Paul, Liz and all the team here at KTG

Hi thanks for your question. Crib in room can be arranged but needs to be booked whilst you make your reservation. Car baby seat in the car airport transfer can also be arranged but must be booked a minimum of 07 days before your arrival. Again we recommend you make this clear whilst making your reservation. You can contact the hotel directly at Ktg-phuket Regards Jim (Kamala tropical garden)

We were there early season so chose from a menu, good choice of english breakfast, cereals. Was told they offer buffet style in high season. The Deck restaurant where breakfast is served has fantastic views over the bay and the food was hot, well cooked and tasty. We loved the few minute tuk tuk ride to The Deck, made breakfast more of an event and as I have said the view is fantastic. Hope this helps.
