Sunwing Kamala Beach is a family-friendly hotel on the outskirts of the small village of Kamala on the Thai island of Phuket. The hotel is set on the beach, surrounded by greenery and with views out to the Andaman Sea. Its buildings are arranged around tree-lined gardens and the hotel's pool complex. The style of Sunwing Kamala Beach reflects traditional Thai architecture, with whitewashed walls, overhanging roofs and balconies with wooden rails. The centre of Kamala village is a short walk away, and here you'll find local shops and stalls selling fresh produce, gifts and handmade souvenirs. Phuket is Thailand's largest island and is known for its beaches, nightlife and food. There are seven outdoor pools in the gardens at Sunwing Kamala Beach. A shallower kids' pool has a water slide to keep younger guests entertained. There's also a playground and playroom, as well as a hotel-run kids' club that arranges plenty of fun games and activities.

Sunwing Kamala Beach stands out for its prime beachfront location, which many guests adore, and for its extensive amenities that include multiple pools and activities for children. While the hotel's rooms are recognized for their space and cleanliness, some visitors suggest that updates in decor could enhance the experience. The staff's warmth and professionalism often receive commendations, although a minority of guests have encountered less satisfactory service. Evening entertainment and special events contribute to the hotel's warm ambiance, yet opinions on value vary, with some concerns about dining costs.

A wonderful hotel for its 4 stars. Breakfast: fruit, yoghurt, pastries, omelettes, 2 types of scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausages, side dishes, including a different Thai dish every day. Pools: 5, different, several children's slides. There are 2 massage parlors on site, prices from 300 to 500 baht/hour (multiply by 2.8-3 and get rubles). Towels for the pool and beach are provided once a day. The beach is as soon as you leave the hotel, there is no road, it goes behind the hotel. Along the sea there are various stalls with fruit, Roti pancakes, cafes for every taste, go left along the path to the bridge, cross and there will be an exchanger, the exchange rate is good, better than near the cafe if you go to the right. There is also a 7 eleven store near the exchange office. I highly recommend Deng's restaurant! Turn right when you exit to the beach and go through. Order their Chicken pineapple with any meat or seafood. The hotel staff was friendly, they changed our room within 24 hours, ours overlooked the river and there was a smell, we were moved to a room overlooking the pools. Cleaning upon request, hang a sign for cleaning, a free 0.5 bottle of water per person is placed in the refrigerator every day. The sea is wonderful, the water is clean, sometimes it brings algae, sometimes jellyfish, not without that, but overall a wonderful swim. In the evening there is a low tide, sometimes strong, and we swam right behind the buoys. We are happy with our holiday, I recommend Sunwing Kamala Beach.

Sunny and cozy Sunwing Kamala Beach is an excellent choice for those seeking the perfect balance of comfort and tranquility at a seaside resort. This four-star oasis greets guests with a warm atmosphere and a wide range of leisure options.

Each day begins with a magnificent breakfast, featuring everything from fresh fruits and a rich assortment of pastries to delectable Thai dishes. Special attention should be given to the signature kimchi, prepared with great skill.

After a hearty breakfast, you can relax in one of the clean, pleasantly cool pools, of which there are five. There are also entertainment options for young travelers, including several slides of varying heights.

Right at the hotel entrance is the picturesque Kamala Beach, which is easily accessible without crossing a busy road—it runs separately behind the hotel. Along the coastline, you'll find numerous cafes, stalls with exotic treats, and exchange points with favorable rates.

The friendliness of the staff at Sunwing Kamala Beach deserves a special mention. Room cleaning is done daily, and guests are offered a complimentary bottle of water. Even after departure, thanks to the promptness of staff member Renelyn, I was able to retrieve a forgotten beard trimmer. Her high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to assist are truly commendable.

Overall, the stay at Sunwing Kamala Beach left the most pleasant impressions. The serene atmosphere, convenient location, variety of amenities, and impeccable service make this hotel an excellent choice for a family or romantic getaway.

P.S. Apologies if there are any grammatical errors; this text was translated using a translator. ;)

The lady who greeted us at the reception was quick with the check in process- if we asked her to repeat any information even once, an expression of impatience crept up on her face, so we checked in quickly.. ha ha
Welcome fruits were kept in the room when we entered. The rooms are a bit dated as other reviewers have mentioned but quite spacious, with comfortable beds. We had some issues with the door lock getting stuck and the ac dripping water in the main room but, the housekeeping staff helped to fix these immediately. We also had internet connectivity issues on our personal laptop and the IT staff too helped us out instantly. The kitchenette was stocked well with microwave oven, a minifridge, cutlery, bowls and plates.
Breakfast was at Som's kitchen. It was not lavish but decent variety to choose from although, not many options for vegetarians. Fino's and Som's have the same menu but we found the service and ambience better at Fino's. Also, Fino's is located near the beach so it gets quite pleasant in the evenings. It's a good idea to carry mosquito repellent as evenings are abuzz with the tiny creatures ready to bite you. Som's had some live shows for both adult and kids in the evening which you could watch while eating at your table.
My 8 and 11 year old kids spent an entire day going up and down the water slides, loved the teen lounge and enjoyed their massage session beside the pool. the massages are offered at the same price as the outside market which was a fairly good deal.
The laundromat is near the reception with several washing machines and dryers kept in a spacious room. An ironing board and iron were provided as well for self service.
The resort is located right at kamala beach and was a short walk to the market street. good for food, shopping, massages and booking travel tours. This market was quieter than the one near patong beach as the traffic is much less here.
It is also quite close to a night market and the Carnival Magic Phuket which are quite walkable to with older kids.

A noisy hotel, very bad smells in all the corridors of the hotel!!! There is humidity everywhere!
It doesn't feel like we're in Thailand at all, but more like a basic hotel with no Thai charm.

Even at the edge of the swimming pool a nauseating smell comes from the pipes!
The beach is not maintained and it does not make you want to relax there and in any case nothing is planned for relaxing there!!!!!

The rooms are pretty and practical since there is a small kitchen, but you can hear everything from the neighbors because the walls are very thin. The bathroom is also pretty but no bathtub.

The buffet is impersonal, it feels like a school canteen (blue and white tiles without any decoration) And it's the same at the reception and at the entrance to the hotel which is devoid of decoration and charm of Thailand !

We had half board: For children there is a minimalist menu with only 4 dishes to choose from: burger, lasagna, chicken and spaghetti bolognese: apart from that my child eats everything and a variety.

We didn't travel to Thailand so that our child could only eat basic food, that's expensive!

We asked that he could eat Thai like us and this was refused on the pretext that he had to choose only from these 4 dishes (besides the burger was not great!)

So that means that our child should have eaten these 4 dishes for 15 days!!!

He couldn't even have a dessert such as fruit because the children's menu only included ice cream!

Not very balanced for children who eat healthily! So I had to share my fruit and my dish with my children!

The hotel staff was not very cheerful, whereas in Thailand people are usually very cheerful.

We were supposed to stay there for 15 days, but we asked our tour operator to leave after 24 hours because the noise and the atmosphere of the hotel did not suit us at all and yet we are really not picky! But this hotel doesn't make you feel like you're in Thailand and that's a shame.

And to top it off, we were hacked on our phones by connecting to the hotel's wifi which is not absolutely protected (withdrawal of money from our account and phone call made via our mobile number)!

The hotel is an excellent family hotel in a perfect location next to Kamala Beach. The rooms are very fresh and the pool area is green and consists of several large nice pools and a pool bar. The pool bar had a good selection and service, but of course it is cheaper to shop on the beach. The exit directly from the hotel to the beach makes the location first class. The breakfast is plentiful and fresh, but we would have liked more variety and better juices. The dining room was quite crowded and we would have liked more privacy and peace during breakfast. The hotel restaurant Fino by the beach was quieter and very pleasant but did not serve breakfast. We first had a room facing the back/hills. The room and balcony had an unpleasant sewage smell but this was resolved by the staff by giving us another room which we were happy with. The service at the hotel worked great and the staff were always friendly and gave a positive response. Many thanks to the hotel hostess Renelyn who gave us all the help we could wish for! With great dedication, she helped us book excursions and arrange all kinds of questions that arose. Always with a big smile and kind word. Thank you Renelyn and other hotel staff for excellent service!!!

Great family resort
Our family of 6 stayed for 9 nights in a 2 bedroom family suite.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Although, like most Asian countries, the beds are a bit hard. Housekeeping did forget to put the right amount of towels in our room a few times, but that was quickly solved with a call to the front desk. Would have loved if the room had a full-size broom as sweeping the floor once a day with 3 kids and a baby isn't enough.
Pool towels are provided down at the pool desk, which you can return once a day for fresh ones.
There is a laundry on site, which you can wash and dry your clothes for 80thb, and washing powder can be purchased at the onsite mini mart.
The restaurants at the resort are excellent, we received fantastic service especially from 'Von' every day..
It's a shame the pool bar isn't open until the pools close at 8pm, it closes at 6pm wich is a shame.
They have kids' activities at the resort but no supervised kids club.
Baby sitters are available at an additional price.
Kamala market is directly out the concrete driveway wich has some great food and shopping options.
Out along the beach there are plenty of dining options aswell, to the left and over the bridge there are some shops set up that do excellent food for very reasonable prices.
Massages out the back of the resort near the beach are great and start at 300thb.
Short walk to the Big C wich is a large supermarket or catch a taxi from the front of the resorts taxi rank.

We vacationed in September 2023. Family, 3 adults. We were accommodated in a 2-room suite. The view of the pool is very beautiful. Large room, large balcony. All necessary accessories are in the room, + slippers, + bathrobes. Nice comfortable shower. The room has a kitchenette: a medium-sized refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishes. Cleaning every day, towels changed upon request. Small ants are present, leaving food outside the refrigerator is dangerous. Breakfast is very good and varied. There is a gluten-free table for allergy sufferers (we specifically chose this hotel).
The area is large and very beautiful. Several swimming pools. Exit directly to the beach. The beach is clean, gently sloping into the sea. Life-longues are paid. But there was a pool right next to the exit to the beach, we lay down on life loungers there. Massage, very good, at the hotel.
I recommend this hotel for a holiday with children. Thank you very much to all the staff, very responsive and nice.

Chose this one on the advice of relatives. Arrive at the hotel late at 12:00 a.m., check in at the reception, give us the keys and go to find our room. It was dark on the property, no one outside to ask thought we were being escorted, but no. Anyway, we figured out where to go, and we fell asleep.
Breakfast: we liked breakfast, not even bored at all, everything is delicious.
Room: large bright room, lived in a 2-storey building overlooking the pool, huge bed, additionally cost 2 more sofas, there is a large enough fridge, dishes, sink, dishware (may have missed it, but on the hotel photos can be found)
On the balcony there is a table, 2 chairs by the way are very kind and comfortable.
Bathroom: We have everything we need.
Cleaning was daily. There's no clean-up complaint.
The area is large enough, there is a small swimming pool for babies it is covered with a tent, there are 2 large ones, one has a small slide for children, the other was aquaerobics (which is by the way atypical for Thailand) in general there was enough space for everyone.
There's also a swimming pool by the sea, where I figured the buildings are the most expensive.
There are 2 massage areas (1 in the territory , 2nd just like facing the sea. But I've never been there because I prefer privacy.
The sea: the sea was excellent, clear, no rain.
As you leave the hotel, if you stand facing the sea- to the left-hand side walk on the sidewalk , then across the mossik about 3 minutes will go 7/11, and lots of cafes on this street.
If you go to the right of the hotel there are also a lot of cafes in the evening. We were in the advertised smile bar except the high prices and the interesting pitch saw nothing else. Pad tai was not good. Then we found another place to like it and spent the whole vacation there eating.
On Kamala is the show Fantasia, it is close to the hotel, we walked, bought tickets at the box office and were delighted with the show we saw, I recommend it to visit. The only thing you can't take on your phone. Phones are taken into storage, after the show you take them.
Bottom line: a great family hotel for a good holiday. The infrastructure nearby is, of course, a little smaller than on Katya. We are going to come to this hotel in October, hope that the weather will not let us down, even though it is not a season

The hotel is great, vacationed as a family of 3 in November. Excellent rooms, spacious, updated, bright, pleasant, clean with beautiful views from the balcony! Rooms with large bed and sofa, kitchenette with microwave, sink and dishes, large fridge. There are rooms for babies with all the accessories. Rooms are cleaned daily, towels changed. Great restaurant, we only had breakfasts, I rate them at a high level - on variety and quality, for every taste, many options of appetizers, hot dishes and soups. The beach on the way out of the hotel, across the footpath, from the room we only walked 3 minutes, even though we lived in the most distant building from the sea. With beach shopping aisles with fruit and beach accessories. There are pharmacies. A food and duffle market is nearby. Near the beach there are many exchangers with good rates, massage parlours and other infrastructure. Nearby park with famous FantaSea and Carnival Magic shows, walking 10-15 minutes from the hotel. Went to FantaSea, we loved it. There are many, many swimming pools on the property, and they are odorless, showers on the way from the beach. On the negative side, I'll note the sour coffee from the coffee machine, because I love coffee so much, I missed it here. Well, during our vacation, while on the balcony, the sound of construction tools was heard (in or outside the hotel, it is not clear, but fact).
I think it's the best hotel for kids in Phuket. There are so many swimming pools from toddler to deep. Children's indoor sand playground with campus and toys. Large balcony with dining table and chairs. Clean, manicured area. Unparalleled in beauty and purity is Kamala's favorite beach. Friendly, friendly, professional and responsive staff in the restaurant and reception. Special thanks to the beautiful Renelyn, all issues were handled quickly and at the highest level. It's important when your vacation doesn't mar anything, but on the contrary, everyone tries to make it the best. Thank the hotel for that, our holiday here was beautiful!
