I spend a wonderful two weeks escaping the hustle and bustle of modern life, relaxing and recharging the batteries at Crookneck retreat. Megan and Brett were great hosts making me feel completely welcome to the orchard and getting the most out of my stay. There are lots of great nature hikes with spectacular views in the immediate neighbourhood. The view of Glasshouse mountains through the macadamia trees with a morning coffee is also special. Be warned that Brett's idea of a short, easy run through the forest trails might require some prior preparation before being attempted. I will be back in the future with my bike and hopefully at a time when the mysterious chocolate pudding tree fruit is in season!
We stopped here for a 3 night stay as part of a trip around Australia; it fell halfway through our trip and could not have been better! Relaxation is what you experience within minutes of being in the beautiful place. Megan and Brett provide the most beautiful, well equipped accommodation with one of the most comfortable beds we experienced on our trip. The cabins are amazing and we were lucky enough to be in Mountain View with Crookneck through our whirlpool bath window! Just perfect!! We very much hope that we will be able to visit this uniquely beautiful, serene place again!!
We fell in love with the accommodation and the location in May 2018, and so when we had reason to return to the the area this year, we did not hesitate to book in again this time for 10 days. Accommodation is very clean, quiet and private. Due to the warmer climate this year, we only managed a single wood fire. Owner was very helpful and no request was too hard for him. We still marvel at the changing colours of the mountain throughout the day. Being in a macadamia farm is fantastic.
We booked this as a comfortable location close to Australia Zoo. On arrival it far exceeded expectations. The cabin was completely on its own in the macadamia plantation and Crook Neck Mountain loomed in front of our veranda. Really spacious and luxurious. No Wi-fi but you can pick that up at Australia Zoo. Sorry not to stay longer to walk some of the local tracks.
Recently had the pleasure of staying in Orchid View, such a beautiful place with lovely hosts. Quiet and secluded but a 5 minute drive to the supermarket, definitely recommend staying here for a peaceful get away. The little touches like the macadamia nuts on the front porch really made it feel special. Can’t wait to visit again!
