In the heart of a National Heritage treasure, the Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge offers a unique ecological experience of this fascinating area of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in South East Queensland. It makes a fantastic base from which to explore the 26 million year old volcanic plugs that make up this incredible landscape, as well as the coastal beaches and hinterland villages. During your stay at the Ecolodge (set on 5 acres of orchard and forest beside a small creek) you can discover bush tucker, enjoy nocturnal frog spotting and bird watching (over 60 different types of birds have been seen). A great place to relax and unwind in this peaceful and quiet nature haven with its birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and even kangaroos. National park walks start 400 metres from the front entrance. Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo is just 10 minutes away and the Ecolodge is only an hour north of Brisbane.

Stayed one night at the Orchid Room, which was clean and beautifully furnished in the cosiest way. Very thoughtful little details like towel hooks right next to the shower, water urns in room. We easily spent half the day on the premises because of all the fascinating little corners like the gardens, the play/read area with books and boardgames. Hilarious signs around that cracked us up (e.g. "Garden of Eaten"). Most unique feature is their eco-friendliness, which also means beautifully restored structures like churches and train carriages used as rooms! Keith was such a lovely sweet host, and prepared a delicious homely breakfast for us. Perfect getaway from the craziness of life.

Beautiful place to stay with lovely views.
However Keith needs to trust people more .
He told us three times to not make noise in the morning when we were leaving
And told us to put our pizza boxes in the bin outside and the asked us again after we had eaten our pizza and then proceeded to check the bin . It was a bit of a turn off .

Debbie, Delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. Sorry about the "pizza" boxes but sadly some guests eat their pizzas in the room then leave the boxes under the bed for the ants and others to feast on during the night. Believe me this does happen despite signs in the rooms asking people to leave their food scraps in the bins provided. We also have possums who too love our local pizzas also so that is why we are a bit fastidious about it. Thank you for being so respectful to other guests who were still asleep when you left. Keith

The Eco Lodge was a wonderful experience. We ordered a wine and cheese platter for the evening when we arrived and the portion was tasty and generous. The location was serene, we woke up to birds chirping and fresh country air. It is perfectly located near Mount Tribrogargen - a quick early morning hike around the mountain was special prior to sitting by the train for a delicious generous brekky. Kevin was a knowledgeable friendly host and we would definitely recommend others to book in for a special eco experience.

We stayed in the converted church, a cavenous place for two people with everthing you could need. Keith the owner has thought of everything, outside aswell. Terriffic breakfasts out on the veranda, listening to the many birds singing.
Top tip don,t park under the fruit trees. We did and came out to find a Jackson Pollack extra finish to the white hire car.
Location is great for walkers, sightseeing , Australia Zoo is 10mins away, and for restaurants.

What an amazing find and so close to home. Keith has created a very peaceful retreat offering a range of different accommodation styles from fully restored train carriages, to an historic church, bungalows and family rooms. For $12.50 one Keith will provided a lovely continental breakfast served on the deck beside the train carriage kitchen. We stayed in the restored 1882-1886 First Class Carriage that used to travel the Melbourne/Ballarat/Bendigo Gold Fields Track. Close by is Mt Tibrogargan and I can highly recommend the walking circuit around the base of the mountain. Great place to relax and will definitely go back.

Excellent affordable accommodation and breakfast in a peaceful location surrounded by a fruiting orchard, native vegetation and lots of bird-life. Keith and son are friendly, helpful hosts who have created a wonderful getaway in a sustainable and eco-friendly way. Keith is happy to share his knowledge of the natural environment by providing an abundance of information for young and old. The church and old train carriages add a wonderful historic touch. Thanks, Mike & Angie

Stayed in the Old Church , Its a 'one of a kind' experience in an incredible location at the foot of an ancient mountain. The room was huge, comfortable and full of the ambience of high ceilings, old wood and stained glass windows . Fruits fall of the trees in the garden . We loved it and came back for a longer stay to explore the property and the area. Keith the owner was respectful , kind and very knowledgeable as a guide to the area.

We stayed in August for 2 nights in a Bungalow. What a fantastic and unique property. We loved the full kitchen and HUGE bungalow to spread out in. Each evening we had drinks at the table and chairs in a private little patio surrounded by trees and bird calls. The property is so well outfitted also for those that just want to stay in a hotel style room - with access to an amazing shared kitchen with freezer, fridge and pantry space for loads of guests. We enjoyed the fruit orchard self guided tour, which also allowed us to explore more of the property and the other styles of rooms. The cute little library/games room would be lovely for an afternoon read. Each day we would head down to the Tibrogargan car park to enjoy many different walks. For the more adventurous drive about 200 metres past the car park entry and park when you see a big white house (park on the house side of the road). Just across you will see a locked gate which is the start of the Mt Tibberoowuccum climb. You will hardly see anyone else on this hike, it is a hidden gem. We brought some snacks and a few groceries with us to prepare a couple of meals in our bungalow, and also enjoyed going into the village to get pizza and pasta one night, plus there is an IGA there to get everything else you need. This is a fantastic base to do all the hikes you want (easy, medium and hard options), with Keith the ultimate welcoming host. We will be back again now that we have discovered this little piece of paradise. TIP - Bring some gold coins if you want to indulge in the wine and craft beer in the shared fridge.
