We recently spent some time in the Kamberg as a family. Being resident in Cape Town - and loving food and wine naturally, we heard about Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse and we made a booking. We were not to be disappointed. From the welcome as we arrived to the sumptuous food and the very impressive, well-stocked underground wine cellar, everything was...

This place is all about the food which is true fine dining. But the backdrop of stunning mountain scenery, the friendly informal service and the lovely cosy farmhouse accommodation really make the experience complete. Stayed 3 nights (not sure my waistline would have coped with any more!) and definitely hope to return some day.

We celebrated our anniversary at Cleopatra this past weekend & absolutely loved it! From the moment that we arrived we felt pampered & the amazing staff went out of their way to make our stay special. We stayed in The Naturalist room which was beautifully decorated. I loved all the details which made it comfortable & unique. The Farmhouse is...

We have visited Cleopatra before and have never been disappointed. This time we just booked for dinner as we were visiting elsewhere - again it didn't disappoint! The food was out of this world! But I have to mention the wonderful staff there - Clinton, Barbara and Mike, and all the other kind staff members who assisted us when our...

Setting was amazing and tranquil. Rooms were comfortable with everything needed for a cozy winter stay. Food however extremely disappointing for the price!! Everything was way too rich with no balance and taste. Overpowering butter and cream in everything, couldn't taste the fresh fish/veggies or any of the courses. Not at all like the pic's in Richard's books. He is...

This guesthouse is amazing. The location is absolutely beautiful. Our reception upon arrival was wonderful. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We stayed in the executive cottage. The rooms are tastefully decorated and are very comfortable and cozy. The fireplace was most welcome given the cold winter nights. The food is stunning. Both breakfast and dinner are a fine...

Beautiful cozy property with awesome views and land to roam. Most of the staff were very kind, accommodating and friendly. Rooms were very cozy, lodge-like decorated and well kept. The main house was very homely with the fireplaces active at all times and very hospitable staff always there to welcome you and offer drinks. Recommend taking a short drive up...

Setting and overall experience amazing, however food didn't live up to the expectation set. In our opinion, the food relies on richness to satisfy and feels more like upper level home cooking than satisfying the requirements of a foodie destination. This said; the team treated all guests like royalty and needs to be commended for the effort. Modernising the menu...

We were greeted by the staff with a cool glass of homemade lemonade. They escorted us to our very comfortable rooms, ours had a Scandinavian theme and explained the facilities. There is a well equipped mini bar, fresh cookies and a carafe of delicious sherry. The staff are amazing, helpful and efficient. Cleopatra's is known for it's gourmet food and...

We spent 2 nights at the Cleopatra as a birthday celebration. The staff are absolutely fantastic. They serve you on hand and foot and they make the stay very special and this distinguishes Cleopatra from other establishments. Care and attention to detail is evident. After the first night's dinner we came back to our room and found a complimentary chocolate...
