We had a great time here the week Jan 14-21 2017. We were lucky with the weather as there was a huge dump of snow just before we arrived and then it was blue sky the rest of the week. Ski area is extensive and with a good variety of difficulty. You can technically ski back to the chalet but it mean going slightly off piste and through a few trees!
The hosts were really good. We had Rees and Rebecca who were really friendly and helped out with anything we needed. The food was great and they catered well for one of our group who has various food intolerances. One stand out bit of service from them was taking us down to the ski hire shop on the Sat night, even though we were late arriving due to an accident on the road from the airport, to sort out all our equipment. Such a massive time saver as you can just get straight on with the skiing come Sunday morning.
The chalet itself is great, lovely views out of the main living area and it was so nice to have a fire going when you were hanging around in the evening. It was warm throughout as well and the sauna and hot tub were great additions.
Chalet Beyond were really helpful too and we can't recommend them enough. All the arrangements went through smoothly and they sorted everything for us. In fact, we had booked into the sister chalet Brocard, but as there was no one in Gelinotte, they upgraded us free of charge which meant everyone in the group had their own room.
A couple of minor negatives. There is currently no wifi in the chalet which is a shame, although we understand they are planning on installing it. Also, as has been mentioned in other reviews, the walls connecting this chalet to the one next door are really thin and so if you do have any noisy groups in there, they can keep you awake at night. Fortunately we only had it on a couple of nights but I can imagine it would be really annoying if it was like that every night. Take earplugs!

We had all bedrooms in the Chalet for the weekend of New Year.

The Chalet itself is very spacious, with a great living area. All rooms were clean and tidy, fairly basic but homely.

The Ski area was disappointing, majority was closed despite the snow being there! Alpe D'Huez was full of crowds and queues, and was frustrating. Very basic resort really.

However despite that, the holiday was fantastic. The 2 Hosts we had at the chalet were faultless. So lovely, very chatty, put everyone as ease and joined in with the social aspect of our very friendly group.
Food was all lovely and they accommodated out fussy eaters!!

Lovely package, great price. Highly recommended :-)

I settled here this summer during my holiday around the Alpe d'Huez triathlon. From here I was able to get to the start at the lake on time, and the event area was also easily accessible with the lifts. From Alemont to Oz station is also quite a steep climb!

Nice chalets with an excellent crew, a very pleasant experience for a sporting holiday!

This chalet is good value and is in a nice position, not too far to walk to the lift and you can ski back fairly close to the chalet if snow conditions allow. Also on the plus side, the food was very nice. However, we had some big problems with the chalet staff and the company, Chalet Beyond. The chalet staff were fine so long as things were going well, but if they had to deal with anything out of the ordinary they simply were unable to cope and became rude and arrogant. We were told at dinner on our first night that there would be parties in the chalet next door, which we had not realised was attached to ours. We felt this was a little late to warn us of such matters, this really should be made clear on booking. Our group are keen skiers and like to get a good night's sleep, which some nights proved impossible. The walls were paper thin and there were very loud voices/shouting/playing party games until the early hours on several nights, and one night there was very loud music playing as well as shouting, singing etc., until 2 a.m. When we complained to Josh, one of the chalet staff, he appeared completely unable to deal with the situation and became aggressive towards us. There were other occasions also when the chalet staff were rude and aggressive. On the last night, Marije announced very abruptly that "you have only booked the transfer taxi one way", and then walked off back to the kitchen area. This was clearly incorrect, we had booked and paid for a return taxi transfer for our group, and had the evidence to prove this. Chalet Beyond had (supposedly) arranged the transfers at our request, but to be honest, we should not have been surprised that they seem to have got this wrong, as they seemed incompetent right through the booking process, several times e-mailing us with incorrect invoices, and referring to an incorrect chalet! The return transfer problem was subsequently sorted out, and Marije confirmed later in the evening that it had been their mistake, but to be honest it is not something you need to go through at the end of your holiday, especially when the attitude of Marije was far from one of trying to be helpful and assisting in sorting out a potential problem, but was rather more 'hard luck'. Also, at the beginning of the week, we asked whether it would be possible to purchase packed lunches at additional cost, as has always been offered to us in previous chalets, and although they did provide them in the end, this was with extreme reluctance on their part, and only after a big fuss and more aggressive behaviour from Josh and Marije. Customer service from these two members of staff? Unfortunately, they simply do not get it. We have been organising group chalet holidays for in excess of 30 years, and we have never experienced such a poor attitude from chalet staff, nor such incompetence from the company we booked with.

We came to Alphe d'huez for skiing, a beautiful and large area. The chalet is nice and tidy with sauna and jacuzzi. Good and fresh food. After a day of skiing it is quite a bit of lugging and clunking uphill. No more facilities such as shower and toilet on the last day.

During our participation in the Marmotte Granfondo, we received fantastic guidance from the Chalet Beyond team. The revitalization stations during the tour are also very nice in addition to the organizational stations. For the very fast riders they even have the option to provide water bottles without having to stop.

The experience of the staff will prepare you well for the Marmotte bike ride. You can enjoy cycling in the area. Furthermore, the food and the stay are really great! In short, I recommend it to others.
