A wonderful, cosy place with a special atmosphere - a bit old- fashioned and romantic. The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel serves tasty breakfasts. If I ever come back to Annonay, I will definitely stay there again.
A group of six of us cycling through France stopped here for a night. We don't go for top notch hotels with perfect international facilities but for cheaper places with character, charm, and a friendly welcome. The Hotel du Midi was perfect for us. We had two twin rooms and two single rooms for the group. I had a huge double room for myself with a view over the square and also a surprisingly big bathroom. I had a relaxing bath and then went to a cafe in the square for a coffee. We ate in the restaurant which is sort of attached to the hotel and had a fine meal with good local wine. Breakfast was perfectly suitable for a bunch of cyclists! The staff were helpful and interested in our cycling, which we couldn't say for all hotels... I'd very happily stay here again.
Stayed here as a stopover whilst travelling north. A friendly and helpful guy on reception. The room was spacious, reasonably decorated and a good bathroom. These older hotels, this one over 150 years old, have such great proportions! It is situated in the centre of town, with a few bars and restaurants nearby. We ate at the restaurant that is part of the same building and had a perfectly fine supper. We were able to park the car in the little car park behind ( needs booking). Breakfast was ok and standard, but with cheese and ham to augment the usual breads etc. Very good value for a stopover.
In the center of the town, a standard hotel but spacious and refurbished rooms, quiet if on the backyard. Good quality bedding. Very limited car park, public parking is only 20' during the day. No restaurant, but some available in the area, or a little bit more far (15' by foot) I recommend Marc & Christine, a really surprising very good adress.
Stayed one night with my wife. We got the last room, and felt lucky. Alas, what we got was a bed in a large room that smelt no good. There was trafikkåret notiser during night so we could not leave the window open. The bathroom was out of date. Breakfast was OK.
