Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were invited here for a celebratory function. The place was packed. Ordered Chicken Parma, Supreme Pizza, and a Ham and Pineapple pizza. Took an hour for the buzzer to go off. Pizzas came out on plastic plates, not sure why. Parma was overcooked on the bottom, but what wasn't burn tasted ok. Salad, accompanying Parma was underdressed and dry. Pricing is about right for current market.

Stayed 2 nights while visiting friends in the area. Rooms are incredibly spacious for what is a roadside motel, with separate bedroom and living area with sofa beds, as well as a kitchenette. Meals at the adjacent tavern were huge and of decent quality.

Currently there is no bistro (has not been for approx 12 months) so if you are planning to stay here you will need to get meals from somewhere else. Make sure you wash the cutlery before you use it, one look at it and you will know why. Please do not feed the roaches they are big enough already, tv in bedroom disconnected and no remote found for it, fridge in room constantly running and very loud. Sitting on lounge it smells very dusty, bedside lamp works when it feels like it. Staff are still very friendly just the facilities and dining have gone by the wayside

Travelled with a family of six on the way to Yeppoon and on the return journey. The room contained only five pillows and one blanket for both fold out sofa beds (three pillows and one blanket on our first stay). When I approached the manager to get another pillow and blanket, he throw his arms out and said "mate, I just locked the back room..." as though it was the most difficult request in history to actually unlock the back room again. He returned with only a blanket, when I asked again for a pillow he said there were no spare pillows. I had to suggest to him to maybe acquire a pillow from another room, which he eventually sent ME to do. The room was not set up for a family of six, we had to share cutlery and plates as they were so sparse. Clipped toe nails were found by one of my children in the fold out sofa beds just to add to the magnificence of the stay. Was promised a room with a spa when booking over the phone, only to be told (by one of the local drunks no less) that the spas had been removed months ago. The manager was simply the least helpful person I have ever had to deal with when travelling and I have literally travelled all over the world. Trying to deal with somebody such as that after a six hour car trip was challenging to say the least.

Worst accommodation I’ve experienced. Their website is out of date. The Bistro hasn’t been opened for 2 years. The cigarette smoke stench in the room was disgusting and gave me an instant headache. Thank God it was only for one night!
$160 for 3 adults, really!! Pillows were flatter than a pancake and the pull out sofa bed for the third adult was so old and pathetic. This place is in serious need of HELP!!

What a wonderful surprise. after leaving the Central coast of NSW at 7am , and travelling all day to arrive in Maryborough at 8pm, over 1000kms, it was pure heaven to book into this pub/motel. We had called at the Maryborough Caravan Park first, [See review ]who had a cabin, but rudeness, after a very long journey was not going to be tolerated.
I went into the very busy pub virtually next door, and the staff were very obliging, as I had asked if they were still serving meals, the girl at the bar advised me to go over to the bistro and if need be, give an order for dinner, while she organised our accommodation. It turned out that there was plenty of time to order dinner.
I collected our key, then went to our room which which had a lounge, separate double bedroom, Spa bath in the double sink bathroom, and a kitchenette. All immaculate and modern.
What a lovely home away from home to arrive at after a long long day, and rude treatment up the road.
We then went back into the pub for a great reasonably priced meal, with great service.
We were a bit worried that as we were in the room closest to the road, there would be a lot of road noise. But no noise and slept like logs after a relaxing spa bath.
Well done to all the staff at the Westside Tavern Motel.

Just enjoyed the most delicious "Pub Grub" at Westside Tavern. Generous portion of Prawn Cutlets (6) with mango and coconut sauce accompanied by a side salad. My husband also opted for chips. Enjoyed dessert also of lemon citrus tart with ice-cream and cream, My husband enjoyed a hot chocolate pudding with chocolate sauce, ice-cream and cream. Absolutely the most friendly and efficient staff. Westside offers a varied menu and specials of the day.

Visited for a social event. Car park suggested the venue was busy but still plenty of tables available. Enquired about undelivered order after 1 hour and after an additional 20 minutes (80 mins total) of waiting had to ask for a refund. The staff were apologetic and gave the refund but the taverns systems seemed unable to cope with even moderately busy occasions. Have had mixed experiences here in the past and this will certainly make me hesitant to return.

The menu is extensive with even more choices on the special's board. Food servings are man sized - very generous. The chicken parmigianas at our table were enormous and well cooked - clearly the best meals in our group. I'm sure there were some salad type options available but the deep frier is well used here and we weren't complaining.
Very reasonably priced food. We will be back.
