Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Firstly there is an unsealed road that approaches the site for about 12km. Drive along this is around 65km and the vehicle will skip over the ruts - don’t be out off by this as we just wanted to make you aware.

Secondly, the sky at night: bloody awesome - you won’t find a clearer sky to view the Southern Cross.

Thirdly, there are two desperate toilet and shower cubicles, don’t be put off by the outside as the toilet works well and the showers are really good.

Fourth: do the tour in the morning, well worth every dollar and you get to see loads of the Pinnacles that the general public won’t see.

I’d you like your comforts it’s not really for you, however if you like your creatures and a more rustic genuine experience then you will love Nambung Station.

We loved our night there.

This is so relaxing. We stayed in the cabin which was huge. All very basic but everything worked - enough food for breakfast and comfortable bed. But you pay for the quiet, the animals, the magnificent views at sunset and the night sky, the nice walks around the property, the lovely property managers and the tour for an extra $50. So worth it to see the farm and to get a different look at the pinnacles and the sand dunes. It is a bit of a drive to get there but so worth it. there are different forms of accommodation there and all a bit rough but so relaxing.

Long Australia Day weekend. Well off the main road and so quiet. Not the sort of site where you'll see a few families camp together, make a big table, put on the Bintang singlets and get into the VB. Camp kitchen had enough. Power outlets for our fridge and phones, BBQ, sink, areas to prepare food and a few tables and chairs. Two combined toilet and shower cubicles. Then stand alone toilets and showers. Clean and adequate. Tent area has hay bales behind to protect from the wind. Powered site area and loads of other space. We did the Nambung Station tour at $25 per adult. This is a must do. See the parts of the pinnacles nobody else sees and untouched Painted Desert dunes. Some steep dunes and so reasonable fitness needed. Definitely stay hear again....loads.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with my son, his wife and two children. Although it was a long way off the beaten track, it was worth the trip. The caretakers were very helpful and friendly. We went on the tour of the property, which included a trip to the Pinnacles, in a ATV (like a small tractor) which was great fun. The Chalet we stayed in was very well equipt and comfortable. Breakfast was included and left in the fridge for us to have when we wanted. It was a great experience for my little grandson (age 5) as he could help feed the animals and come up close to the sheep and donkeys. A great stop-over on our way back to Perth.

We stayed for 1 night in an unpowered camp site and had a great time. The facilities were very neat and clean and the owners are very lovely and helpful. We went on the morning pinnacles tour and it was a very fun experience and we got to see lots of wildlife and farm animals on the way to the pinnacles. The tour was very informative and felt very special knowing not many people get to visit this side of the pinnacles. We would definitely recommend staying here and doing the tour

I had a great couple of days staying at Nambung Station by myself. It was a great place to unwind. I really didn’t want to leave… I stayed in an on-site van. It was clean and comfortable. Loved the campfire sing a long and station tour. Hosts Vera, Paul and Brian were lovely. I would definitely visit again.

Nambung Station Stay is off the beaten track but a lovely farm stay. It’s inland from Cervantes. We went with a large group of family & friends for a surprise birthday celebration. The Farm Stay accommodates caravans, tents, camper vans (powered & unpowered sites) plus on-site caravans & a B&B. The bathrooms are clean with toilets & hot water showers.

The kids were able to feed the horse, donkeys & lambs & they had plenty of room to run & play. There is an area where you can have a camp fire & there is a tin shed kitchen to wash your dishes & gas bbqs.

Make sure you bring along all your food & drink as the accommodation is nowhere near shops or amenities. This place is great to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life, but don’t expect 5 star accommodation - it is a rustic farm stay that the kids will love & can disconnect from technology (data coverage is hit & miss) & reconnect with nature & get dirty!
We didn’t leave the farm stay but Cervantes is not too far away if you wanted to visit the beach or the Pinnacles.

Remember it is a Farm-Stay so recommend taking fly spray & personal repellant.

Had a overnight stay at a powered site. Quite tranquility after the school holidays. Amazing value with clean facilities and hot shower. Situated in middle of working cattle station (ranch). Suitable for families, large functions or a quite weekend. Be sure to be aware of the music festival times if tranquility is needed.

it's off the beaten track, but it's well worth the drive.
Numbung Station is a working farm with a lovely stop over. The owners are ever so helpful and friendly. There's some tame animals for city dwellers to pat and plenty of real cattle for country types.
I loved my time here, a real slice of Aussie country life.
Highly recommended.

Do the camping sites have good shade? We have only tent so shade is very much appreciated. Thanks
Answer from David S
Northampton, United Kingdom39 contributions16 helpful votes
Nambung has a line of trees so there is some shade. The owner is really helpful and so am sure will give you a good spot. Generally though each campsite is different, at Kalbarri and carnarvon there was shade yet at Hamelin Pool there wasn’t and it was very hot - we didn’t stay there in the end and drive 2:5 hours to another site near Northampton
