We were staying at the Alila with a Luxury Escape package during the week Australia when Australia imposed its 2 week self isolation period. Alila staff were wonderful. They allowed us to keep the benefits we had not used including a number of pre-paid nights at the resort. For an extra fee, we were also able to upgrade our suite to get an ocean view. There are a million lovely five star hotel, but it is only when something goes wrong that you can really tell the quality of the place and Alila scored ten out of ten. We had stayed at Alila with our two nieces about 3 years ago. At the time, we all thought that this was the best of all the 5 star resorts we had stayed in together, and our recent experience did not disappoint. The huge infinity pools are amazing and the food was extraordinary- much better, we thought than the Edge, and better than the Ritz Carlton. I am a bit of a foodie and really appreciated the offerings of the Luxury Escape package. We were also impressed with the sanitation measures the hotel was taking including masks and gloves for all cleaning and restaurant staff and regular sanitising of the room and public areas. Because of COVID-19 we stayed mainly in the hotel, but it was no hardship. We will be back when the crisis is over. Highly recommended

The Alila is a stunning property in a great location, everything is spotless and attention to detail is perfect. Our room was very comfortable and the beds heavenly to sleep on. The 3 pools are very clean and beautiful to swim in , service in pool areas is great as well. Recommend staying - was my 3rdstay in 12 months and was consistently good on each time and will definitely come back again.

I stayed with my partner in October 2019 and we had a wonderful time.
We were initially provided with a room in the rear block of the property, however staff were very considerate and we were moved to the main building following some construction noise in the hotel complex next door. Our room in the main building was a pool facing ground floor room, which meant that we could be by the pool within thirty seconds. Both rooms were big, bright, clean, and generally high quality.
The pool attendants were really attentive and kept our glasses topped up, offered sun loungers to suit and repositioned the umbrella where necessary.
The hotel gym was well equipped and the SeaSalt restaurant was wonderful (we ate there for dinner twice). During the breakfast hours, the restaurant offered a vast choice for breakfast both a la carte and from lots of self service style counters.
The staff were incredibly helpful and arranged a couple of day trips for us. A special thanks to Kiki who took us on an incredible day trip to Ubud - he was incredibly knowledgable and hospitable.

We happened to be there for Valentines's Day and we were on our honeymoon!! Seminyak was the third place we visited on our Bali trip and the hotel was really beautiful! When you walk through, the lobby was grand and with plenty of space to sit. The check-in process was speedy and with no hiccups. We booked one of the deluxe ocean suits that overlooked the infinity pool and the ocean. This came at a premium price of around $600CDN/night. You would think that for the price, the room would be spectacular, but we soon found out that we solely paid for the view. The room itself was fine, it was still very nice. We asked for two wine glasses to be brought to our room to share a glass of rose before our Valentine's Day reservations, but to no avail. We had to call again 30 minutes later because no one brought them. This was just a minor thing and we didn't think much of it.
We spent most of our time enjoying the pool and the hotel amenities. The service at the pool was sub-par at best. Staff was polite, but service was very slow even though we were one of 6 or 8 people at the pool. One time we ordered sangrias and they brought one over and not the other. It took them another 20 minutes to bring the other sangria while the one previously brought was already warm and all the ice was melted. I know these are not huge problems, but when you're on your honeymoon, you do concern yourself with the fact that you want to share a cold sangria with your husband, together. Especially because you are paying a premium price for them, as if you were in North America. Most places in Bali have reasonable prices (it seems to us, due to the exchange rate) but at this hotel, you pay top dollar for everything!
The hotel also provides a shuttle to Seminyak square. We showed up 10 minuets early and waited for it and missed it. Even though we told two other staff there that we were waiting for the shuttle and they told us to go sit down to wait. The guy comes and goes without notifying you so you have to hunt him down. Good luck!
Given the opportunity, I would not stay at this hotel again. I loved the pool and the views from our room but the service was quite poor and we left feeling unwelcome. I don't know if perhaps we were spoiled from the above and beyond service we received at the other two hotels we stayed at previously in Ubud and Sanur and this one stood out that much more or maybe the change in ownership of the hotel (Hyatt just purchased the property last year). Whatever it is, it was not something I'd like to experience again.

We found the Hotel and the Staff very well alined when staff are trained well the a Hotel runs well and this is the case with Alila Seminyak , Hotel : clean well maintained and fantastic location . Staff: really very good from Housekeeping , room service , front of house , SeaSalt Restaurant , Beach Bar , Spar staff lovely and the treatments were carried out professionally all were fantastic, Note: Potato Head is next door and on weekends DJ's don't finish till 3-4.30 Am Pool: 3 to choose:: 1st Beach Pool & Bar mix of family and couples kids playing with balls all a bit of fun etc. Bar (not swim up) is well located and views to the horizon shaded seating and beanbag seating awesome for sunset drinks and there is an evening BBQ. Pool 2 as you arrive on lobby level is the Family pool but it's more quiet than Beach pool one row of sunbeds good for morning laps and wonder full for sunset. Pool 3 Adult pool over 16 i think located away from 1&2 so no kids noise same wonderful views on the ocean as the others and great for morning laps and sunset. all pools are with pool attendants to set you up and provide all you need for the day. i could say more but its now up to you to see for yourself :)

Although we didn't stay at the hotel we used the beach bar quite a lot. The greetings each day made us feel very welcome. The staff brought huge towels & hand wash cloths as we arrived, drinks appeared seconds after ordered, the large pool was very clean and warm, while after a hot run over the sand to the Indian Ocean to catch the waves, we returned to the bar to use the showers and take another drink. My wife and I absolutely loved this place. The room was great and the staff was so friendly and helpful. No matter what we needed the staff was there to assist. They have 3 great pools and 2 of them are adult only. At least when we were at the property this seemed like mostly (98%) adults, so not many kids. This is not a good or bad thing, just an FYI. They even have a golf cart that will take you from the hotel out to the street area for shopping and restaurants. The staff at the restaurant was absolutely wonderful although we were not big fans of the food served at the restuarant - it just wasn't our style at all - very contemporary to the point of being over the top in our opinions. The hotel also has a golf cart that will provide you with a lift to the main street for shopping and restaurants. If you are planning to walk south for shopping and food there is a short cut - go down the beach to the south just past the water inlet and find the alley way by the rental shop. Take that alley way up and you will save yourself some walking. If we ever make it back to Bali we will most certainly go out of our way to stay at this hotel again. Almost forgot, don't forget to make a trip next door to the Potato Head Pool/Bar area. Great people watching and fun environment.

One good thing about Alila is their people who provide the services during our stay and during our dining. The housekeeping is always keen to tidy up our room (turn down service every evening), and they attend to our needs during breakfast at Seasalt (thank you for all the good food, chefs). Even the pool attendants are great. They provide cold bottled water when we visited the pool. The People who serve us are great people!
In terms of the building, room and facilities, we have been to a better hotel. All beachfront hotels in Bali ade generally at par and having good quality.
Unfortunately, the way they do business (the management) is not honest... Or they simply make error that charges us hidden cost. It feels bad and terible. I specifically booked the room through their official website more than 2 weeks prior our coming just to make sure we get the best deal (we booked Ocean View Suite), but they charged us differently when we checked out. If I would repeat all over again, I would have booked through third party so that all payments are settled prior my visits. Would I come again? Surely not. There are other options available in Seminyak

Beautiful hotel with magnificent view! Seasalt Restaurant opens throughout the day..staff are friendly and helpful. You can dine, have a drink and watchin sunrise, sunset, feeling the breeze…nothing better than that.
Room is spacious, modern yet cozy and beautiful. Every room provides sunscreen, insects repellent which is awesome for those who forgot to pack theirs…and other amenities. Big balcony with garden view…Housekeeping comes twice a day which pretty cool since other hotels only offers 1 per day.
I recommend to stay during the weekdays if you can as it’s crowded during weekend.

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel seemed a little quiet because of COVID, but the service was not affected at all, in fact the service at the front desk, housekeeping, spa, and restaurant was fantastic.
The hotel is also located in a fantastic location. It is right on the beach and also close to a lot of other restaurants and really cool stores. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Lastly, everyone that I saw while I was there properly wore masks, I saw people sterilizing countertops after people would touch them, there was consistency with checking temperatures upon entering the hotel, and there was hand sanitizer all over the property. Really great job.
