Nestled in a stunning beachfront location in Seminyak, W Bali - Seminyak receives high marks for its cleanliness, with guests consistently noting the pristine rooms and well-kept grounds. The hotel's contemporary and luxurious rooms are popular for their spaciousness and views, though some guests have pointed out issues with lighting and air conditioning. While the hotel's chic ambiance and comprehensive amenities—including diverse dining options and a vibrant pool area—are often praised, opinions on value are divided due to high prices. When I feel sad leaving a hotel, I know it’s one of those hotels that will always appear on the top of my list. This property is nothing but perfection. What makes it special is all of the staff. From front desk, housekeeping, restaurant servers, housekeepers, buggy drivers, every single person had a smile and positive attitude. That is what makes this hotel a special place.

The resort is stylish as with any W hotel. The main public area where the reception and Fuel Bar is located, overlooks the large pool area with palm trees and the ocean. This is an open-air space. For those individuals who are vegetarian or vegan, the two main restaurants offer a great selection of dishes. The host and server staff are so personable and they make every effort to get to know each guest. The quality and quantity of food was excellent whether you’re dining for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Our oceanview room was lovely. The balcony was the best part. There’s a chair and sofa outside. I have to give a big complement to the housekeeping staff. I watched them all day as I walked to/from the elevator. They work so hard to maintain not only my room and other guest rooms, but they always said hello and had a smile on their face. The bathroom is really large but the only downside is the toilet. The toilet is “private” with glass, but the glass is see-through so you really don’t have privacy.

For a hotel this size, the fitness center seemed pretty small but it has all the equipment you need to keep yourself active including; cardiovascular machines, strength machines, Swiss balls, and stretch mats. Bottles of water and apples are available in the center. The hotel also offers a variety of classes including outdoor yoga. Even though I didn’t use the spa, the area is tranquil.

Once you enter the property, you feel like paradise has arrived! The landscaping is nothing but elegant and beautiful. Once you’ve settled in and would like to leave the property, the hotel offers free transport service from the lobby to the gate on the main street. The average wait time was anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes for a buggy to arrive at either location. If you’d like to walk there yourself, it will probably take you about 10 minutes. Lastly, and as I said before, when I left the hotel, I was incredibly sad which is a good thing! I hope to return and visit again.

We stay for one night at Wonderful Garden Escape room. (they have two type of rooms, guest room and villas). Our Room is very spacious and has a balcony with the seafood (though a bit far but still can see the waves).

What I love from W room is that they have this in room built in speaker which is very cool and you can play your favourite playlist song by contacting operator (they also have alarm with bluetooth speaker at the bed side).

Bathroom is super lovely, theyhave the dream bathtub where the automatic curtain at the ceiling to make you feel you are bathing outdoor with sunrays. how cool is that. Even dressing table with a small chair is separated from the toilet, shower area and they have two vanity sink with two set of amenities. I have never seen that before.

Service: great! Check in was smooth, concierge is helpful. especially FB Insider. we didn't make reservation at the woobar but W insider named Bhaskara helped us arrange last minute a very good spot with the sunset (we missed the sunset tho :( because we came down late from the room). Thank You for the effort! :)

Access: The resort can be seen from the streets and there is an aisle we have to get in. thus everytime you need to go out, you will need to take their hotel cart shuttle and if you order local food using Grab or Gofood you will need to get it yourself outside because they can't get in.

Breakfast: Everything was good except the breakfast, so you will get to choose to dine in either their western restaurant (FIRE) or at their Asian restaurant (Starfish Blo). We were explained that food was mostly the same but you can dine with different ambience. we chose to dine at starfish because the seaview.
Service and place was perfect but the food was just okay. We tried the Soto but the soup was too plain, the chef later came after 15 mins and make another one but we already full. Other foods we tried also taste just okay, believe it could be better :)

Overall a really nice place. Would love to come back for another stay.

After spending last NYE at the W Koh Samui, we decided to try another W experience again for this New Year’s Eve and chose the W Bali. I have had some good and not so good experiences at w hotels and After looking at the hotel online and seeing that the property was quite large, I was a bit concerned that the level of service would not be as high as I would expect. But was I proven to be wrong as this had to have been one of the best experiences I’ve had at any hotel !

From the airport greeting and pick up to the check in process, all was done professionally and always with a smile!

We chose a pool villa and it was very comfortable. On their site it does mention that you will feel the tranquility and I was so surprised as this is very true. It’s very quiet in this area and you are away from the main hotel entrance with the lobby bar. Everything in the villa was well designed and well appointed and extremely clean

The service in all their restaurant outlets are outstanding and truly have the whatever whenever attitude

What I noticed the most is that everything does start at the top! I noticed the hotel General Manager everywhere on this property and always present. You could tell that the hotel staff really admire him and follow his lead in customer service.

We were at the hotel enjoying New Years Eve and the one word that comes to mind is Wow! They truly did an amazing job in creating an experience that everyone would enjoy with 2 separate parties and stages! They had so many staff everywhere that you never waited for anything!
The next morning when I went for breakfast it was very noticeable that they had worked all night to clean up the hotel as it was spotless and you wouldn’t have even known that they probably had over 1000 people at the party the night before

I truly recommend this hotel and most of all because of their team members !

Keep up the amazing work, you should all be very proud!

The two-room pool villa was an awesome home base for our family. The size of the trees overhanging the pool in our villa was an appreciated and rare feature.

Shout out to Andre Leonardo, nickname "Ho", for his care and attention beyond the call of duty. He was very helpful with unusual requests, and where we'd normally expect disappointment, he truly delivered.

The breakfast at Starfish Bloo was already great, but the Sunday Brunch version was over the top ... too many delicious things to eat, including grilled whole fish, babi guling (not nearly as good as the street food version though) and all kinds of seafood.

The "Whatever, Whenever" service was useful for ordering Pak Malen babi guling from a nearby shop.

Firstly I want to say that I believe the one star reviews here are based on single personal experiences that people are annoyed about and are not balanced across all rating categories for a hotel. It is impossible to believe that this hotel deserves a 'terrible' review when there are so many positives which, in my opinion, make this hotel stand out as one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed in. Marking a hotel as 'terrible' suggests everything is sub par and nothing could be further from the truth.

To put my feedback into perspective, I am a seasoned traveler who looks for value. We don't have money to burn and so when we look for a hotel we try to get a good standard for the best price. We have been lucky enough to stay in Hong Kong Peninsula, Beverly Wiltshire in Beverly Hills and other iconic hotels.

This hotel has surpassed them all on every level.

Check in was swift and professional and our pool villa was immaculate. No slightly moldy odor which is typical of even the best hotel in Asia. Highly maintained with everything in perfect working order and an abundance of amenities. Housekeeping came twice daily and from time to time delivered gifts such as macaroons. Our anniversary was recognised in the room with flower petals and wine.

At breakfast every member of staff was impressively professional. Upon discovering I had lived in Jakarta for a year as a child and still remembered some language, a huge effort was made to get for me the kinds of Indonesian foods I loved back then - even though they were off menu. The Rendang and Satay for breakfast were delicious!

The grounds are simply stunning, from the pools, to the bars and restaurants, the attention to detail breathtaking. Each and every member of staff is available and friendly and nothing is missed. They go out of their way to enhance your experience at every opportunity.

The day spa was absolutely beautiful and also an entire experience, with complimentary steam room, oxygen therapy and relaxation room with herbal teas

Special mention to Fire Restaurant which is a complete experience. Ryan overhead me mention how much I love Es Cendol (it's a Javanese drink, hard to get in Bali) and at the end of our meal it was magically produced for me, which was no mean feat given how difficult those little cendols are to make! Just another example of this hotel going many extra miles.

To every member of the breakfast staff - I wish I could remember their names. They were faultless in their service provision and didn't hesitate to provide for our every desire!
I cannot fault a thing, and usually I can! I owned a small boutique resort in Fiji a few years ago and aspired to the sort of heights that this hotel has achieved in providing highly personalised and memorable experiences.

I had a fabulously priced package, but just know that for my future visit, even if I can't get such a good price, I cannot possibly stay anywhere else!

6 stars!

Hello Marg, Many thanks for sharing your kind feedback on TripAdvisor! Great to hear that you enjoyed your anniversary at our property and to put detailed review of your amazing experience here. I have to agree with your comment about single star reviews. While I acknowledge that we are in no way perfect – I think the team indeed doesn’t deserve some of the feedback guests are sharing. Obviously everyone is free to share whatever they feel relevant however regretfully, in my personal opinion, TripAdvisor is often used in an un-fair way. I do really appreciate your highlighting this. We do hope to welcome you back soon! Best regards, Titus Rosier General Manager

"I Have Stayed Here So Many Times" and this time, I tried the W Villa (while they also offer very good package during the pandemic). Needless to say - after Bali was deserted by tourists for months, W management keep the hotel property (pillow, beds, sheets, towel, rooms etc) as fresh as new. Magnificent breakfast experience always, and glamorous sunset cocktails. In room they have a nice long desk and so I can do my office work comfortably. Worth ever penny spent.

We wanted a getaway before the Christmas season and were also shopping round for the destination for our upcoming Wedding. We decided on Bali because it’s a quick trip from Singapore and has a great vibe.

I am a big Marriott fan and stay at their properties for work, business and/or family trips. The W was our pick for this trip because we had an appointment there at halls to host our wedding.

From the time we booked, we opted for the car pickup and VIP service. This is a huge advantage because they picked us from as we got off the plane and escorted us through immigration via a faster queue, picked up our luggage while we waited in the welcome lounge, and then bring you to the car that takes you to the hotel.

We had a very large sized room which I must say was absolutely stunning. We had a balcony with a view of the ocean, huge bathroom with the very villa like shower and bathtub. It even had a retracting roof.

The breakfast is amazing and one of the best I have ever had. The menu options are great and the eggs Benedict, fruits, avocado toast and pancakes were scrumptious. I literally had a food coma each time.

We did eat at other restaurants at the property and would say each has a good set of options so you won’t get bored. The Nasi Goreng was favourite.

The pool was great and there are enough chairs for you to find space. They have floating water beds, great drinks and food available by the pool. The pool bar in the evening time is also relaxing and has shisha.

The hotel is located in the heart of Seminyak but is within its own compound. Yes, compound. However venturing out is not an issue. You can easily hail a cab or walk out to the front and be close to local bars, clubs and restaurants.

The hotel also has a number of areas where one can host events. We selected the W for our April 2020 wedding and can’t wait.

The hotel's main entrance looked like an alley between buildings, for the newcomers they won't really notice there's a big establishment of W Hotels inside. The pathways took our breath away until we reached the hotel main lobby. Truly it felt like being brought to another amazing world. The front office lady was also friendly, and we were taken by buggy/caddy into the hotel. I was speechless, what an amazing view, really have different vibe from photos on the web and looking it firsthand.

The villa is astonishing as well, with private pool and the wedding decor on table. The interior is super lovely. The price was really worth it for our honeymoon trip. The room is already cleaned, AC already on, music played and so on. Our villa was also placed close to the parking, a few minutes to main lobby but very tolerable. The beaches and Woobar is amazing, the pool as well. 3 main attractions side by side, very good mix.

Please refrain from calling us the few minutes after we checked in, because that's the most time we're excited to do things, either resting, or checking out the room, the pool, and so on. We got phone call and someone rang our bell checking in. it's good and all, I appreciate that, but doing that TWICE in a row while me taking a bath and/or after doing swimming is not a very pleasant experience. Once is okay, but not twice please. Eventually I turned on the DND.

The Pizza beef food is very very delicious. me and my wife loved it. Drinks were awesome too, I ordered "LOL" orange juice and wife ordered Gin Tonic, they were great.

The only thing lacking is the bluetooth speaker does not detect my phone/vice versa for the speaker that I cannot play my own music, and the movies from TV were not crystal clear, I suggest if possible you guys can provide something like Netflix, maybe? Just a suggestion. Oh, and adding more general cutleries like Spoon and Fork maybe a very good idea, along with more menus on the minibar!

Me and my wife would love to mention Mas Septian from Reservation, and Dwi Fernando from concierge for very helpful service. Also Mr Imam was very friendly in chatting with us and driving us to the villa. All of the staffs were also kind and helpful during our stay.

Overall it's a VERY pleasant experience, all combined, the villa, staffs, woobar, location, beaches, daybeds, food and drinks that make all of them super memorable experience. I've recommended your hotel again to my colleagues, friends and families and hope they can boost your business further. Cheers!

Hello Alvian, Many thanks for your detailed review and sharing your experience with us! Great to read you had a wonderful stay and that so many of our talents left memorable experiences for you! The journey from the road towards the Hotel is impressive isn’t it? The story of the Hotel is Seen & Unseen and that’s how the Hotel is designed. You won’t see us from the street however the moment you enter the Bamboo driveway, the journey starts. First you enter mystical Bali and the pond area which resembles the volcano’s in Bali. Then you drive through the “jungle” to eventually reach the beach of Seminyak! Next time you visit, we will take you around the property and explain the narratives to you. Your service feedback is noted. While all done to enhance your experience and to ensure you are well looked after, I hear what you are saying that it can be overwhelming! We will discuss the same internally. We do hope we can welcome you back soon to W Bali Seminyak. In the meantime, stay safe & healthy! Cheers Titus Rosier General Manager

I booked a Spectacular Room with ocean view, and I was given the room no. 431.
PROS. Looking down the ocean waves from my room was literally spectacular. And the staff were exceptional: they were seeing through me. Food here tastes good in general, the restaurant Fire stands out.
CONS. The prices in the restaurants and spa was higher than other resorts in Bali. Like any other resorts in Bali, you will soon realize that you are sharing the room with ants.

It is an average resort if you are looking for a luxury get away but still some fun. It should be noted that our visit was during the off season. We would recommend the hotel for younger guests <40.
The one bedroom pool villa was nice and quiet; however, we have doubts about the cleanliness of the pool water although private.
The hotel common pool was beautiful to look at but if you prefer to swim in the pool rather than the ocean (specially because of the very strong current and waves), you can just forget about it. You cannot swim but only sit in it.
The positive thing about the hotel itself it is its placement if you want to be in town and walk to most of the places. The recommendations of the hotel staff were quite good.
But the best rate goes to hot staff who were very smiling, friendly and service dedicated for which we are thankful.

Hello Burcub198, Many thanks for taking the time to write your TripAdvisor review and please allow me to respond. As I can’t cover every touch point in the hotel it would be good to understand where you felt that the villa pool cleanliness was an issue. We do service the villa pools daily, but there might have been something that we missed. It you can share this with me, it will be most helpful. The main swimming pool at the W Bali is a very large infinity pool, but should you wish to swim laps then unfortunately it is not possible, due to its regular shape, or it will become a very winding swim. During the day the pool does get busy with guests chilling and relaxing but at 1.2 meters deep, it may be too deep to just sit in, although there is a shallow deck on one side of the pool only 50cm deep. Apart from the swimming pools I am glad that enjoyed the staff at the hotel and appreciate you staying with us. Best personal regards Craig Seaward General Manager
